People cry. It’s a natural emotion that one can never hold back forever in their lives. Some may be able to suppress the feeling but others can’t hold it back. Like a child who fell and scratched her knee. She cries. A child cries from the pain of the fall and the sting that she experiences. People as teenagers do as well. The sting of people’s mocks and the hurt that you feel. You cry…whether you want to or not.
You cry because you are weak…a crybaby. No…just because you simply cry…doesn’t mean you’re a crybaby. It simply says you are a sensitive person in a way in which you can’t help but cry.
So what makes you cry? Physical pain? Yes. Emotional pain? Of course. For some, it’s just stress. Yes…stress….su
ch a fickle thing can cause so much. Amazingly, stress builds up even if we don’t know it. You are extremely busy, you worry about if your friend will like the gift you give her, a death in the family…it builds.
What holds it back? Who knows? Your mental stability? A mental dam that holds the flowing thoughts. There is something that holds that stress. But nothing can hold it back forever. Something happens, you suddenly feel hot stings in your eyes and you try to blink the tears back.
It’s too late. Someone’s seen your inevitable effort to hold them back. You hear them faintly saying “She’s crying!” over your hard effort to quickly stop crying before anyone else sees.
Another inevitable effort. You find that everyone in a close range of distance staring at you and you try not to look at them. Hurriedly, you wipe your tears but as the others shout and argue and asking you “What’s wrong?!” the tears keep flowing. The dam is broken and needs repairs ASAP.
Solitude. You silently wish that everyone would just shut up and leave you alone. No, but they can’t do that. How could they? People who are merely acquaintances to you, talk to you in a moment when you don’t want them the most. In the moment you feel so vulnerable, that if someone would drop you, you would shatter in a million and one pieces.
Misunderstanding. No one can understand emotional distress. Sure psychologists. But they can only go so far as to help you. It’s you that you need for help. You need to keep that dam from forming so that it doesn’t leak, even for a bit.
Babies cry. Yes, babies do cry. Babies are human. We, in parallel, are human. So thus, in vice-vera, are we babies? No, we are simply humans. Humans have a series of emotions that they are unable to feel. Happy, sad, depressed, melancholy, and the unresistable urge to cry. It you do not cry…are you human?
