Space Sector 2814

Jaren sped into the system at sub-light speed, his ring aiding in his navigation his eyes narrowed and focused "Ring!" he said to no one in particular "power status!" suddenly a voice came from the ring "ring-status-57%-no-danger" Jaren nodded, there was plenty of time for him to reach earth before needing to recharge, he stopped near Saturn "this is the system that braught the Corps so many notable Lanterns?" he said aloud "confirmed!" his ring replied "2814-is-home-to-Earth,-homeworld-of-4-of-the-Corps-most-noteworthy-Lanterns" Jaren looked at his ring "I wasn't asking you, just get me Thorn" the ring glowed as it attempted to contact his comrade.

"yeah..?" A calm yet slightly agitated voice responded. Thorn flew past building after building "my search for the Qwardian power ring is turning up dry,I'd figure we'd find one after the war and all..." He let out a sigh and looked at his own ring "power status?" the ring responded immediately "19% Recharge highly recommended." Derek smiled a bit and kept flying.

Jaren grunted "it figures the Guardians would want to gather all those things up, I would have preferred to at least run across some poor soul that a Yellow ring would have latched on to" he moved on heading towards Earth "I'll meet up with you soon, I'm just passing Saturn and should be within Earth's orbit within the hour, I'll contact you again at that time" he siad in a official tone, like it was a military report.

"see you in a bit..." Thorn landed atop a building and held his ring out"In brilliant day and terrible night,No evil shall survive my might,let all who stand for evils fight,beware my power Green Lanterns light!" his ring lit up as his body filled his ring with energy.

Jaren smiled as he picked up his pace, he knew that if there was a chance of completeing their mission it would be best to start on Earth, the planet where much of the Corps had been in recent weeks.

Derek lifted into the air his green aura shining brightly,He looked up and let out a big yawn. This was the place where they could make it happen.

Less than half an hour later a green streak could be seen flashing across the sky it circled the Statue of Liberty for a moment and settled on the torch Jaren lifted his ring and held it up to his face "I'm here!" he said simply to the ring "I'm at what the locals call the 'statue of liberty'"

Thorn rushed towards the statue floating up next to Jaren "its been a while..." he said with a smile holding out his hand for a shake.

Jaren looked at Thorn's hand for a moment and then with a wide grin he took his hand "not since you defected from the Corps and became almost as popular as Sinestro" he said with a small laugh "how have you been holding up?"


Derek laughed "good good,The corps hasn't been able to find me thanks to this power of mine...." He smiled really wide and spoke again "at least I don't have my own war...well anyway how have you been?"

"not too bad all things concidered" Jaren replied "it's been....interesting on Oa, but I was able to dissappear when the Guardians began focusing on all the Corps that have been popping up lately, Gardner is still saying he's glad he wasn't made a Pink Lantern, he's probably hoping it'll actually be funny if he says it enough" he shook his head slightly as if to secretly say it never will.

Derek scratched his chin "the poor bastards probably gonna end up a pink lantern just because he said it." He looked to the side for a sec then turned back "So no one knows your here?"

"as far as Kilowog knows I'm at the border to the Vega System right now searching for Red Lanterns" Jaren said with a smirk as he imagined Guy Gardner in a Pink costume, he was having a hard time keeping a straight face at the moment.

Saru was making his way acroos his normal rounds. He had been assigned to help any laterns in section three that he came across and purge the remaining red rings. "Ring scan for any nearby rings." He stated the tone of his voice obviously bored. "One-detected-insufficient-power-please-connect-with-nearby-ring." Saru sighed. "Thats the only thing about being a blue, need a stupid green or pink to do much of anything." He concentrated and his ring project a flat radar on his hand depicting a green dot... and another what appeared to be a geen haze next to it. "Ring what is the location of the lantern?" It paused then responded. "Earth." He took an immediate left and headed toward the planet.

"clever...Though we'll actually have to go look for red lanterns so you don't go back a failure..." Thorn sighed a bit and shrugged "That's the cost of being a fugitive I suppose..."

A blue streak appeared in the sky. It zeroed in and was poised to land right where the two were standing. Saru pulled back to a screaching halt, but his lack of control actaully caused him to hit hard enough to crack the foundation of the statue.

"and the cost of being your insider" Jaren replied before being knocked off his feet when the Statue shook "what the flagnon!!" he growled as he got to his feet and powered up his ring, he floated up slightly and looked around for the source of the tremor.

Derek chuckled a bit "probably some sort of justice league non-sense,that happens alot around here...." He looked around as well poised to attack

Jaren spotted the feint glow at the base of the statue "it's down there!" he said as he flew down to take a closer look, as he got closer he saw that it was a Blue Lantern "it looks like a Blue Lantern" he said to Derek.

"fun stuff...fun stuff.." he said as he floated down slowly looking the lantern over "he seemed a bit rough around the edges but he could make for a really good lantern"

Jaren smirked at the new arrival "if he doesn't kill himself first, I thought the Blue Corps is rather methodical about who they bring into their fold?" he asked as he used his ring to create a long stick and poke him gently to see if he was awake....or even alive.

Saru sprang to life, blue gloves immediatly forming around his hands. "What?Who? Have at the! Wait.." He noticed the two were lanterns and immediatly dismissed his rings formations. "Blue lantern special operative Saru at your service!" He threw a quick salute. "Who are you?"

Derek clapped a bit "On your guard...that is good...very good." He smirked at the lantern asking his name and thought to himself.

Jaren crossed his arms and smiled "ready for action the moment he regained conciousness, I'll admit there's some potential in this one" he slowly decended and landed in front of the Blue Lantern "power down and then we can talk" he said simply.

Saru dismissed his armaments and took a more casual stance prefering to stand instead of float. He eyed the two lanterns, examining them. "Sir?"

Jaren smirked "the name's Jaren, Green Lantern of Space Sector 3489" he replied "and I'll be the first to admit this is a log way away from my assigned sector" he shrugged "I still don't see how this planet could be home to four Green Lanterns, but that's beside the point, might I ask your name?"

Saru cocked an eyebrow. Going against orders? Treason? Didnt i already say my name? Why am i having an internal interogation? His tail twitched as he came back to reality. "Saru Primus sir, Blue lantern special ops unit."

Derek sighed a bit "I guess its my turn.." He thought for a moment "I am a reserve green lantern for this sector...Derek Thorn" he spoke a blatant lie but it seemed plausible.

Saru scratched his head. "Um yeah so my orders are to assist you guys with the disposal of any red rings, or any other threat to the universe..." He seemed a bit lost because the between the two others something didnt seem right.

Jaren glanced at Derek out of the corner of his eye, this complicated things having a blue lantern keeping tabs on them, what if he reported their true intentions to the guardians?, that might cause more problems that they didn't need.

Saru coughed. "What are you guys doing on this planet?" He rubbed his other elbow in angst.

"I'm playing clean up boy..." Derek said in reference to the Qwardian power ring he was so desperately searching for.

"Count me in!" Saru sprang up like a kid in line for a roller coaster. He wanted to witness the legendary rings power.

Jaren looked at Saru "just so you know! we're currently looking for any Yellow rings that may have remained here after the Sinestro Corps war not too long ago" he explained.

The sentance hung in the air like death. Saru's eyes darkened as his face hardened. His playful attitude from seconds agos was nonexistance. "Im at your service." A new fire burned in his eyes, a spark of passion and meaning.

Looks like we pulled the right string Derek thought."so far our search has been fruitless,but I can't return to the corps as a failure..."

"Like hell." Saru pumped his fist. "Blue corps are more adept to sensing other rings. Ring scan for traces of yellow or sinestro corps rings." He seemed to command. "Traces-of-ring-radiation-quantity-of-rings----ambigiuos." Saru scratched his head once more. "They are here but what is that supposed to mean?"

"sounds to me like whoever has 'em knows how to mask 'em" Jaren said in a low growl "we got us a clever little bugger"

Derek lifted his hand into the air and fired off a large blast of green energy somewhat like a signal flare "A distress signal should draw him out..."

Jaren's eyes narrowed "or make 'em even more skiddish" he replied, he knew not all the Sinestro Corps members were spoiling for a fight with Sinestro M.I.A., some were still in hiding due to the power struggle going on between Sinestro and Mongol.

Saru meeped as his etes watched the signal soar. He looked disbelievingly at Jaren. "He doesnt think before he acts often does he?"

"I'm right here you know...." Thorn shook his head a bit if only he knew how much I actually thought....if only

Saru shrugged. "Anyway.." He swung his arms to loosen up in case a corps did show up.

Jaren looked at Saru "sometimes the direct approach is the only approach" he said simply.

Jaren's ear twitched as he heard a nealy inaudible sound comeing from above, he looked up intime to see a massive yellow something heading for them, in an instant his ring lit up as he raised his fist skyward and formed a massice dome over them.

Following the yellow pillar was a squidman wearing the colours of the Sinestro Corps, but he was wearing two rings, one on each of his arm tentacles "burn like my power, SINESTRO'S MIGHT!!!" he shouted as he began to pound on the dome with increasing force, a malicious sneer on his face as he began to form more constructs with his yellow rings.

Saru lept up. His ring vibrated from the nearby green rings. He punch his fist foward his rings taking the shape of a massive fist phasing through the bgreen dome, but not breaking it.

Light from Thorns ring began to spiral outward he reached forward with his other hand grasping a newly formed blade construct he opened the side of the dome and casually stepped out allowing it to close behind him. "Calamari sounds good...." He lifted into the air and slashed at one of his ringed appendages.

Jaren smirked "time to party" he said, repeating something he'd heard Gardner say once, then his ring spoke to him "subject:-K'tch,- Sinestro-Corps-of-sector-375,-Lethal-Force-has-been-authorized" Jaren's face grew grim, he had never really liked any of the new laws that the Guardians had made, especially the ones regarding the use of lethel force, but when it came to the Sinestro Corps, there was no real choice, 'kill or be killed' as the humans say, he shot up after K'tch and formed a large rotating buzzsaw blade aiming for the other arm "you can be a real cut up sometimes" he saidto Thorn as he passed.

K'tch raored as he strengthened his shield "it's not going to be that easy, you filthy bipeds" he snarled as his other ring shot out a tight beam at the Blue Lantern "Green ones are bad enough in my opinion"

"Pheh." Saru laughed. His blue ring instantly formed two formadable gauntlets around his hands. He back handed the beam deflecting it. "I need some answers from you." He sprang up with animal like athleticism flinging a flurry of blows and strikes floyd mayweather would have crapped his pants at.

Jaren stopped in mid-air as Saru shot past, he glanced at Thorn and whispered "I thought the Blue Lanterns were all passivists?" as he watched Saru in action he wondered if they needed to reassess Saru's story.

K'tch sneered as his twin rings glowed in time with each other "like I'd let you beat me like this" he wraped his body in yellow energy, forming a giant version of himself with the real K'tch in the center of the construct, three of the yellow tentacles lashed out at Saru at once, intent on swatting him out of the sky like a gnat.

Saru haymakered the blow cushioning the hit throwing him back toward the other two. He skidded to a halt beside jaren. He smirked at him for the side. "I'm not your normal blue lantern."

"I noticed!" Jaren said with a smirk, he held up his ring and it began to glow brightly "we're not exactly run-of-the-mill ourselves" he said as he shot after the construct and began shooting around the many tentacles that made up the legs of the construct, threading a green rope behind him he began to tie the legs together.

K'tch was to occupied trying to rip the Blue Lantern apart to notice what Jaren was doing "lord Sinestro will be pleased when I present him your rings as trophies, along with your heads!" as even more tentacles reached for Saru, each one now sporting a sharpened edge.

Now that the green rings were in action saru's began to shine brighter. His gauntlets double in size. He reached out catching three of the tebtacles and used them themselves to deflect the others. "I got him busy, jaren is restraining him, derek finish."

Derek held his hand in the air his ring glowing incredibly bright as he fed his own energy into it. "I'll wipe you out....with one blow" a giant orb of green energy began to take form above his head it grew large and larger until he could no longer build it. Thorn brought it down like a hammer upon the construct.

"INCOMING!" Jaren shouted as he brought his ropes tight around the legs, he looked up as the green orb made contact with the yellow constructs head, it cracked all along it's form as beams of yellow light flashed outwards, then, with a sound like that of shattering glass, the construst exploded K'tch was on the ground, unconcious. Jaren was on the ground now, he had just formed a green orb around K'cth's still form and looked at the others "what do you know" he said to them "a Twofer"

Saru landed and nudged the squid. "Yeah but i wanted to interogate him. He sleeping harder than a hibernating bear after that blow." He huffed, slightly dissapointed. "Well that was interesting at least."

Derek took a deep breath "I over did it.." he smirked two rings huh...good

"Just a bit." Saru formed a sphere around the unconcious form. "Now what do we do with the squid?"

Suddenly Jaren's ring flashed and a projection of Kilowog appeared from his ring "WHAT ARE YA DOIN' SO FAR FROM THE VEGA SYSTEM!!" he boomed, the appearance was so sudden that it knocked him to the floor in surprise "GEEZ! Kilowog can't you be more delicate about that stuff?" he said as he scrambled to his feet "I nearly lost my field with that one" "tough!" the large alien replied "you were supposed to be searching for red lanterns near Vega, not playin' hopscotch on earth or be anywhere near 2814" "I know, I know" Jaren replied "I was following a lead regarding suspected Sinestro Corps activity in the area" Kilowog nodded "and...." Jaren glanced at Thorn for a moment "I'll need to get back to you sir!" Kilowog looked at him for a moment "be sure that you do" then his image disappeared, Jaren looked Thorn "we could take him back to Oa but that would void any chance of claiming his rings once we're done with him" he said calmly.

"we wouldn't want that..." Derek sighed "Kilowog is a real pain sometimes.."

"and Salaak would ask too many questions I'd rather not answer" Jaren said with an annoyed sigh.

Saru laughed to himself a bit. His mind had wandered off in the discussion. "Dont you think its weird how names differ from planet to planet?"

Thorn raised an eye brow and looked back at Saru with a look of confusion on his face.

Jaren looked at Saru with a genuinely confused look on his face "well now" he said slowly "that was random!" he glanced momentarily at K'tch to make sure he was still out, he was, he then looked at Saru "where exactly did that come from?" he asked hoping for an answer that wouldn't confuse him further.

Saru realized he had just given in to his native insticts. "Um well," He scratched his head. "If im not mistaken on this planet my name means monkey. Anyway what are we goining to do with him? Im partial to kalimari."

Jaren looked at Saru for a moment "well....actually we only need his rings" he said as he also concidered what to do with the Squidman"

Thorn scratched his chin and looked up to the sky "we could always take his rings and just sorta tote him until we find someone to deal with him..."

"I could drop him off in one of the Sciencells on Oa?" Jaren suggested "I could claim that his ring abandoned him or something"

"yeah sounds good..." Thorn yawned a bit "its been a long day....."

Jaren looked up "I guess it has" he said as he sent twin beams into the containment bubble and extracted the two rings from their owner "that's one colour down" he said as he mentally checked off the yellow rings from his list "Fear rings have been aquired, which one's next, if I might ask?" he tossed the rings over to Thorn.

Thorn caught the rings with a swift snatching motion."How bout we rush over to Vega and purge the red rings...?"

Jaren glanced at his ring "Ring! send this package to Kilowog on Oa, special delivery" without responding the bubble containing K'tch shot off into the sky on a direct route for Oa, he then turned to Thorn "guess it's time for me to actually do the mission Kilowog sent me to do" he said with a smirk "but first!" he looked held up his ring to his face "ring! power status?" "ring-status-at-120%-due-to-close-proximity-to-Blue-Lantern-power-ring" Jaren smiled "and here I thought I was due for a recharge" he chuckled as he looked at Saru "thanks!"

"um yeah thats what we are for, in theory." Saru scratched the back of his head in earnist. Im not even sure why they let me be a blue, i masked revenge with hope. The guilt crossed his mind, before he shook it off with a flick of his hair. "Would you guys like my continued presence?"

"seems fine by me" Jaren replied "as long as the Red Lantern rings don't latch on to any of us, we should do fine, since they're drawn to those vulnerable to rage and hatred, we'll be fine" he smiled slightly as he looked at them.

"well I figure since he's coming we should tell him...." Derek said rolling one of the two qwardian power rings between his index finger and thumb.

Jaren nodded "I agree! we may need his help when the time comes to collect the Hope rings anyway" he turned to Saru "Derek and I are attempting to collect rings from every colour in the emotional spectrum, Yellow Fear, Blue Hope, Red Rage, Green Will, Violet Love, Indigo Compassion, Orange Avarice and Black Death" he explained.

"you see...I am no longer of the green lantern corps,I left to pursue my own ambitions." Thorn took a deep breath and put on the yellow ring he used his own personal energy to charge it "I can power any of the power rings with my own body...and I intend to use their combined power to create a brighter future"

"Interesting.." saru scratched his chin. "You two are a coup then? Ilike the idea." A smile broke his face. "I have an agenda of my own, that those on Oa wont let me embark on. I would enjoy going along."

Jaren smiled "as far as the Corps knows, I'm still a member, Derek and I agreed that it would be useful to have someone on the inside, keeping an eye out for helpful informaton, and since he's none too popular with the Guardians right now, I got the job" he shrugged casually "it's a living" he quipped.

"Ill tell you what, you scratch my back ill scratch yours. Help me track down a certain sinestro corps and ill let you have my ring." Saru's usual happy go lucky demenor was now completly replaced.

"who might that be?" Jaren asked, not even bothering to hide his curiosity, if all went well, then they might not even need to visit the homeworld of the Blue Lanterns.

Saru's eyes hardened. "His name is Gor." He cracked his knuckles trying to shake his frustration away.

"Gor, huh?" Jaren repeated "not giving us much to work with, are ya?" he looked sceptical.

"yeah....don't know the guy...." Thorn thought to himself "you think the Rings could find him?"

"with just a name?" Jaren replied "we'll need to refine the search peramiters, like race, sector, that kind of stuff" he counted each one off with his fingers "it'll be practically impossible with only a name to go on"

"I couldnt tell you where he ended up, but he started off on Jungalis, joined up with the sinestro corps, turning on his entire planet then proceded to wreak havoc as a parting gift." Saru stated bluntly. He seemed to stare off into the horizon conviniantly leaving out the former best friend part.

Jaren looked at Saru for a moment, he could tell that there was more to the story then theywere being told, but looked at his ring "Salaak!" he said calmly, a projection of a skinny four armed alien with no visible mouth appeared "Lantern Jaren, Lantern Kilowog has informed me of your little detour, I presume you have news?" "actually, I do" Jaren replied "I have a Sinestro Corps member in my custody but his rings abandoned him" Salaak's eyes narrowed "did you say 'rings'?" Jaren nodded "yes, it seems he had two but they flew off in seperate directions as soon as he was defeated, I was unable to track them, and now I need some intel on a Sinestro Corpsman named Gor, any chance you have information on his whereabouts?" Salaak nodded "as it happens he's been sighted on or near Rigellus VII" how it was Jaren's turn to narrow his eyes "that's in my sector, just a star system away from my old homeworld" Salaak nodded "yes! be advised, if he enters your homeworld's atmosphere you are not to pursue, the virus that destroyed your people is still very much active and very fatal to you, should he seek refuge on your world, contact another lantern in the area and have them take it from there" Jaren nodded "I understand" the projection faded as he looked at the others "looks like e have our travel orders" he said grimly.

A wicked grin broke Saru's simian face. He brought his ring close as if giving it a command. "Ring scan the area for fragements of the main target." He whispered Fragments proximity, one two feet south, one eight feet west. Saru smiled his pocket developing warmth. "Hold on i gotta take a leak." He strode over to the nearby bush at the base of the statue and withdrew the small sliver of stone from his pocket, it shone as a small lump of ground rose from under the bush attracted by it. He snatched the lumb reveiling another fragment. "Ok ready." "Well i think im begining to like you guys." His blue ring seemed to almost crackle healing his minor cuts from the scuffle as is par for a blue ring, except for the vague tint of red that flashed for a second. "Anyone need healing, before we board Air-lantern?" His usual joking behavior returning.
