2006-08-22 [Firenze]: Suckage, I don't go back till September and am changing courses once again...been offered a job but need NVQ1, 2 and 3 in childcare to do it, then whilst working need to take the teaching assistant course >.<

2006-08-22 [shotokan_gal]: Been here all summer, though not many other students are, doing the postgrad dissertation thing. Roughly another month left, then the job (and house/flat) hunt properly begins! What's the work - primary teaching?

2006-08-22 [Firenze]: A primary school teaching assistant and once I have done that, they are going to be putting me in for teacher training so I can become a primary school teacher ^_^

2006-08-22 [shotokan_gal]: Very cool, good luck for that :) Couldn't work long term with little kids personally, though sometimes gone in to help my mum out, who works at my old primary as a bilingual/classroom assistant. Helped out on a school trip with year 2s once, what a handful o_O

2006-08-22 [Firenze]: I have taught the wildest yr 7 bottom set PE group you have ever met on my own because the PE department lack staff and I offered to help out, was basically given the sporting schedule and was told teach. Those girls acted worse than yr 1s. But in the end they turned out to be okay and helped them out in a big way according to the behaviour support team, as for working with little kids I am for some reason adored by them so shouldn't be too hard, I think it is because I am funny and easy to get along with.

2006-08-22 [shotokan_gal]: Hehe... they were cute and very sweet actually, but after one day of it I was tired out! Well, it sounds like you made a difference there, and that's no doubt one of the best qualities to have in teachers - those who care a lot about the kids.

2006-08-22 [Firenze]: Yeah well I learnt that the best way to make a kid do what you want is to befriend them and then they can feel that they can say anything to you problems wise and you can talk things out. There was a lot of bullying problems in the group.
