Here is my project for Master [travs the bean] at The Jedi Council. Yes, it's untitled (I never can think of anything good) but here goes. This is between my Jedi Character, Istari L'aquere (nicknamed Rabbit), and [Bladieboe]'s Sith character, Darth Paratus.

Defiant glare as good and evil faced each other, fangs bared as she snarled her wrath. The Sith had appeared at an inopportune time, to her own disadvantage. There were no fellow Jedi to back her up this time, bringing skills and extra sabers into combat. Ah well. Although Darth Paratus was a 'knight', he was nothing more than Bantha fodder in her eyes.

The blazing light momentarily blinded him, orange and green lightsabers igniting in both paw-like hands. She had trained with two, as some had preferred, and was well on her way to becoming a skilled Jedi. The braid in the mass of flame-red curls showed her still of padawanship. She grinned, beckoning with two fingers. The Force was with her this evening.

Blades instantaneously met, his own red light screeching through the wind, colliding against her two. A shock of bright sparks, before she shoved him off with a kick from her booted foot. Darth Paratus only shook loose his senses, bringing himself back to order. "You'll have to do better than that, kitten, if you wish to scratch me."

The Cathar snarled, ignoring the insult to her mix-breed lineage. Another oncoming attack for the Padawan, holding him back with one saber, the other cutting fiercly against him, the beam of emerald light desperate to render flesh. A blur of color, red and green and orange in a synchronous pattern, the magnetic sound of lightsabers rushing through the air, and that of back-arching shrieks as they met. She knew not what she was doing, intent only on her opponent, and the ever-embracing Force, guiding her along with every step.

He tripped her, but only for an instant; Toydarian-Cathar mix was already well up on her feet, and swinging madly. He had, however, marked her arm a bit, skin oozing blood and glowing through the first few layers of skin. She was oblivious to the petty scratch, nevertheless, and continued fighting.

The crackle of electricity hit the air, pummelling her backwards, eyes reeling at the blow. The shock had coursed through her body, but the Padawan had fought it bravely. She willed herself to stand, hand raising to toss the Sith back against the wall, grinning proudly when she had accomplished even a simple injury. Darth Paratus was soon back in business, though, eyes glinting with the hatred and rage of all Sith, their weakness. She took this moment to recoup her energy, falling back into attune with the Force.

The sabres were renewed once again, blazing bright. Jedi and Sith faced each other a final time, staring each other down. Who made the first move, none could tell. Simultaneous bodies met, a passionate frenzy of bladework and speed. He hit her, then she him, each blocking and dodging with equal ability.

A flaw though, she noted inside, secretly smirking. Steadily the Padawan backed up against the wall, allowing him to take 'the advantage.' Paratus immediately took the opportunity, cornering her. His blade pushed against hers until she could not move, and dropped to her knees. The Sith knight kicked her lightsabers aside, cheshire grin gazing down upon her with the utmost joy.

"I see our kitten has already found too big a mouse to catch." He cackled, the wretched guffaw echoing about the Jedi arena. Her hand slowly snaked behind her, grabbing the handle of the familiar training sabers, always held here for the Younglings, fingers grabbing patiently as he spoke, triumph making him lust for more glory.

"I'd rather call you a great, stinking rat, than a mouse," she retorted haughtily. His face crumpled, lips churning as he thrust out a mouthful of spit, eyes shut for a split-second. The Padawan had moved not an inch, or had she? The near-fatal blow seemed to fit the speed of light, for the pale blue blade had already pierced his stomache, he oblivious to the blow before it was too late. "Have your worshipers come and heal you now." She kicked his gut with one swift movement, allowing Darth Paratus to fall into unconciousness before silently removing herself from the room.

2006-05-21 [Bladieboe]: Very nice :) I really like it

2006-05-21 [runnybabbit]: Thank you. It might sound as if I killed you, but I didn't. Only unconcious. ^^. I didn't really want to 'beat' you, and I didn't want to kill, either.

2006-05-21 [Yuriona]: Aaahh... very nice. I found it a bit rough in places but still very well written. :)

2006-05-22 [TheRogue]: it is a very good piece.. Though I agree with Yuri that there are some spots that do not flow 'as well' as they could... nonetheless.. well done. :)

2006-05-22 [runnybabbit]: Thank you. ^^
