A break down of the Social structure as well as where races in the city play into
Imperial houshold: The Emperor and his immediate family. Emperor Uriel however has no family, he has been to occupied with his early years to court anyone.
Praetorian commander: A trusted friend an confidant. Uriel has yet to name a commander, assuming command of his personal guard, though he has been pressed to name a commander among other things.
Legion commanding Senator: A venerable leader in the political circles. He is elected to his position, and this office is often viewed as corrupt and often fraught with peril. Humans, Dwarves and Elves usually find their way into these positions, being the most prominent races in the senate.
Senator: Elected from each of the fifteen provinces of the Empire. Two from each province that convenes three times a year in the Senatorium.
Legion commander: Skilled in the art of war and tactics. This is veiwed as the honorable way to attain leadership of a legion, by being named personally as the successor by the deceased former commander. Dwarves, Were-creatures and High elves usually find their way into these positions for their strong sense of duty and honor.
Noble: Derived from all races, anyone who lives in their own villa in the inner circle of the city makes up this class.
Skilled Artisan: Nearly all dwarves, with many elves and humans as acolytes. Revered throughout the elite social circles for their masterpieces.
Soldier All are required at some point to serve at least a year in the armed services, those who enlist are comprised largely of humans, elves and Dwarves. Enlisted men are housed in the second level barracks alongside the gladiatorial housing.
Gladiator: Were-wolves and dwarves comprise the vast majority, prized for their strengh and durability. For elemental duels though Elves and Vampires are brought in. Gladiators are criminals, many if not all having commited some heinous crime or incurred debt irreparable. There was an attempt to bring Orcs in, but that ended disastrously in the bloody slave uprisings.
Peasant/entertainer/merchant: The largest social body of Valghast. Humans make up the majority of this, etching out a living in the dismal ally ways and overcrowded communal living houses.
Slave: Made up of defeated tribes and fallen nations.
