in the second stage. The third stage integrates understanding of atomic matter and unified existence. The line between self-centered awareness and the rest of the physical universe dissolves into collective awareness in the same way that the familial unit expands into homogenous society.
A Thought on Why this is All So Far Out The seemingly horrific thought of the loss of individuality, the absurdity of brain to brain communication, and the lofty assumption that we as a species will inevitably leave this planet may seem so implausible because the human race is quite simply just not there yet. Our overall development has not yet reached that point of consciousness. We look at these hypotheses, reject them outright and deem them impossible in the same way that fish still in the water must have scoffed at the fish developing the means to leave the water. Hippies, a stereotype in and of themselves, calling for a return to nature and a preservation of the state of Planet Earth, scoff at other homogenous stereotypes that call for technological advances and new ways of consuming Earth’s resources. No animal before us that we know of has ever been able to observe that which has not yet happened, let alone come up with outlandish guesses on the topic. For centuries, mankind has made the mistake of assuming that the state we’re in right now is the end of what we will be, that Homo Sapiens is the epitome and perfection of evolution. How shortsighted we have been! The advent of quantum sciences that look at possibility and things that cannot be recorded hail the next stage in the evolution of human thought process; we are beginning to deepen our understanding of Einstein’s famous quote, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” We will never evolve past Homo Sapiens if we continue to consider ourselves the end of evolution.

“There are periods of history when the visions of madmen and dopefeinds were a better guide to reality than the common-sense interpretation of data available to the so-called “normal” mind” (Shea, Wilson 32).
