Since as long as I can remember, my father beat me and my mother. It became routine. He would lock me in the closet and beat my mother. Of course I could hear her screams. It all became normal. He mentally and physically abused me and my mother. My mother always told me that I was special and that "Daddy" loved me but just had a bad temper.
Eventually I began trying to protect my mother from him. STanding in the way of his attacks and verbal abuse. Of course at me age, a backhand made me less assertive.
One day my mother began coming home less and less. She had a secret lover and me and mother would go to "Uncle" Brett's house alot. "Uncle" Brett was a very good man and treated me and my mother very well. He confronted my "father" about the abuse and called police for us. Now "Uncle" Brett and my mother are married and he is now my Father. I havent spoken to my "father" since.
