Gay marriage. Why, in the year 2010, are we still debating on this? If this country is free for all, and church and state are separate, why are gay people not allowed to marry the person they deem worthy of spending the rest of their life with? I have heard several arguments against it and I think they are all crap. Pointless excuses to justify hate and prejudices that we should, as a socitey, have left behind long ago.

1.) Marriage is a sacred institution. 

Oh, the hell it is. Shows like The Bachelor, , Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire, For Love or Money, and, the most stomach churning one of all, Flavor of Love, have pretty much drug the sanctity of marriage out behind the proverbial shed and beat the hell out of it. Full of gold-digging attention whores (both male and female) determined to go on national tv and prove to a complete stranger they have never met that they can be the best possible spouse in America and that they love the person more than all the other retarded contestants. Isn't that the stupidest thing you have ever heard? What harm can two men or women who genuinely love each other possibly do that is worse?


2.) The Bible says it is wrong.

Yes, technically that is true. However the Bible also says the following:

"Women should be silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak, but should be submissive, as the law also says." (1 Corinthians 14:34)

Ladies, you can't talk in church. At all.

"One of illegitimate birth shall not enter the congregation of the Lord." (Deuteronomy 23:2)

If your parents were not married when you were born, you cannot join a church. Its a pretty straightforward verse.

If a man beats his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished, but he is not to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property. (Exodus 21:20-21)

"Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the cruel. " (1 Peter 2:18)

"Slaves, obey your human masters in everything; don't work only while being watched, in order to please men, but work wholeheartedly, fearing the Lord."(Colassians 3:22)

Are you fucking kidding me. Slavery is wrong. It is awful. And when someone told me it was actually condoned in the Bible, I did not believe him until I looked it up.

For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death. (Exodus 35:2)

If you have ever worked on a Sunday, apparently all the other Christians are supposed to kill you. I don't know how that applies to Preachers and Ministers, since that is like the only job they have.

"Thou Shall not Kill" (the Sixth of the Ten commandments)

Death Penalty. Yeah, apparently in Gods eyes those who practice it are just as guilty as the one who earned it. Also, How far does that extend? Is it like, anything? Hunting, or weeding the garden, or squishing bugs?

Also several times in the Bible it tells you to stone or put to death certain groups of people. Who is supposed to be killing these people if the Bible also tells us not to?

There are other verses, but this is a blog, not a novel. Look, people, I am not saying that you shouldn't follow the Bible. I simply want to know why it is ok to pick and chose what verses you follow. And that if these verses are out dated and no longer of use to our society, then why do we still cling to the verse about homosexuality? Think about this next time you use the Bible to justify homophobia.

3.) The thought of two men or women together is disgusting.

Don't think about it. Get over yourself. You cannot deny someone their rights because their rights make you uncomfortable.


4.) Marriage is between a Man and a Woman who are committed to each other.

Also....

Gay couples are not as committed as straight couples.

The divorce rate in America for first marriage, vs second or third marriage:
50% percent of first marriages, 67% of second and 74% of third marriages end in divorce, according to Jennifer Baker of the Forest Institute of Professional Psychology in Springfield, Missouri. So.....yeah. What are gay people gonna do? Drop it lower?

5.) If gay people are allowed to get married, they will want to adopt children.

These are the 2008 figures for children in the Foster Care Sysem in America. (based on data submitted by the states as of October 9, 2009)

Children in foster care in 2008: around 748,000
Children adopted in 2008: around 55,000

Young adults rendered homeless after being discharged from the foster care system upon turning 18: ............Every year approximately 24,000 youth, ages 18 and older, age out of the foster care system. What the hell does it matter who adopts these children as long as someone fit does?

We can't do anything about what our parent's generation believe about this topic. But, please, don't believe something simply because it was taught to you, and don't pass it down to your children. There is enough in this world to act against. Why is everyone singling this out?

I am so freaking tired of these morons that shop at Hot Topic and call themselves goth. It must be noted that I am not opposed to shopping at Hot Topic. There are cool things at Hot Topic. That isnt what I am talking about. But more on that later.

I am also tired of all these whiny pathetic cutters. Children. People who have never had it hard, who's parents love them and gave them everthing even when they do everything they can to rebel and cause their parents grief. Children (no matter the age) who were preppy when it was cool, grunge when it was cool, and are now looking around and going "I bet I would look good in black and pink." And thus another emo is born. These posers who whine about how hard their life is and how they just need to "release the pain". I call bull. But wait, before you crucify me, let me explain.


There are cutters out there who are seriously addicted to cutting. It isnt for show, you hide your scars, and no one else knows anything is wrong. If you are one of these people, there is support out there and you are not alone. It is a mental disorder and there is nothing that you cannot overcome if your will is strong and you receive the proper treatment. No one blames you for being in over your head. However, there are all you little poser emo children who make these noticeable light slashes on your arms with sharp razor blades that everyone is meant to see, flaunt them, and tell a million people a day how someday you are going to cut deeper and end it all. How dare you pretend to be that bad off? If no one cared before you cut yourself they wont care after so that argument is out the window. Get a life, stop being pathetic, and find friends that love you for who you are and not what you listen to or who you pretend to be. All those people who coo over your cuts and sympathize with you roll their eyes and laugh at you behind your back.

Now on to these newly "risen" gothified loosers. I am goth. I just am. No one called me that and I didnt decide that it looked cool. You did. You arent emo, you arent goth, you arent punk. They are not things to "be" because it is cool, or you shop at hot topic. They are scenes. They are ways of life. They are havens for those who have always been different because that is the way we are and what we feel. It is more than a lifestyle, it is us. Goth people call themselves goth because it is a way of identifying ourselves to eachother. To us we are normal. It is something that we stood beside to even when it wasn't cool and we were ridiculed. How dare you come in and claim it now that it is in the spotlight and cool? You have no idea what ideas you are laying claim to, and you should all be ashamed of yourselves.

Why are the people that you don't wish to be around always the first ones that sit in the empty seat next to you?
