Ok so for my moms birthday we were going to hike the north side of Mt. Rainier. so the first day was only 1.8 miles so for the first half of the day we drove around the mountain droping food off at certain places for my stepbrother and stepdad when they do the whole trail. we then did our 1.8 mile hike made dinner and dessert and the played hearts in the tent. The next day we went over 12 switchbacks and went to a place covered in rocks, purple lupin and !!!Marmots!!! we then hiked over a hugemungas rock field with a few small snow fields. After that we started hiking down into the valley we were going to camp in that night. As we were going down a bunch of switchbacks and my mom was in front. Ok so she steped on a rock that shifted and she slipped and put her foot down on some moss that was a little down the hill, that broke and she slipped a good 3 feet down and fell on her back after her knee went one way and the rest of her went the otherway. (she was wearing a 45 pound pack too) some people came and saw that we had an injured hiker and ofered to carry some packs so my dad could carry her the remaining 3 miles to camp about halfway there we ran into a ranger that aranged for my dad to get a ride from a trail head 3 miles away to go get our car. The next day the ranger came and we loaded my dads pack and my moms pack as heavy as possibly for my dad and the ranger to carry to the car we then loaded my pack to about 35 pounds (half my body weight) so my brother and sister could help my mom walk the remaining 3 miles to the pick up spot where we were picked up and we went and got lunch. (i got this weird thing called a curly dog wich is a hot dog cut in a way so it like wraps into a cercle and goes on a burgerbun... and a butter finger milkshake) were then went to pick up our other car and my mom drove one car home. so this morning i wake up at 1:00 (i guesse thats after noon...) and hear that my mom went to the docter and found out that she had torn a few ligiments and sprained her knee and dislocated her shoulder. so im back 3 days early
