What people don't understand is that if it doesn't matter in the end, what good is it?

Sure, material possessions are damn nice. I like having an Xbox 360. I like having internet. I enjoy this. But I understand that these things do not MAKE me.

People need to grasp the fact that there is more to this world than just clothes and cars and tvs, games and drinks. There is more to this world than these words you're reading now, assuming you're reading them. Oh, by the way, hello. Pull up a chair, why don't you? Sit down and have a looksie! See what I've become. ;D

I've grasped this concept. We're doomed. Every second that goes by, you die just a little bit. Every flake of skin that expels itself from your body just means you're that much closer to death. Every breath you take, every heart beat, every sigh, every moan, every drink. A day or a century, we've all got a running stopwatch over our head. Only this one isn't keeping time normally. Its not counting up, people, its counting down.

Now, what I say now should most definitely be taken to heart. Live it up. It WILL NOT LAST FOREVER. Love it, hold it, cherish it. Because one day, you're going to lose it. You're going to die, its going to die, its going to be taken away from you and it will hurt. But when its gone, you'll realize that you're not far from joining it.

Don't take me for a morbid asshole, please. I'm simply a person who wants to stress to people that you should not take things for granted. Electricity, running water, a clean bath every day (assuming you take one everyday.) A toothbrush, a CD to pop into your CD player and jam out too. A car to take you to the store. Enjoy these things, cherish them.

But DO NOT make them you.

Because you are not these things. You are what makes you you.

You're not the clothes you wear. You're not your glasses. You're not your alcoholic beverage. You're not your hair, you're not your reflection. You're not your couch, you're not your bank account.

To get down to it? You are not who you think you are, or who you hope to be.

You're not your sibling. You're not the places you go. You're not the sights you see. What you are, however, is dying.

Take me for example. Am I a person who has seen Fight Club one too many times? PERHAPS. Perhaps not. Perhaps I've grasped a new way of living, where you look at the world with truly open eyes and enjoy life. Perhaps I'm one of the last people in my neighborhood who can walk outside and enjoy looking at the mountain not a mile from my house. Perhaps I'm the last person on my block who can take a glass of tea, climb outside of my window, sit on the roof of my house and look at the stars in the sky for hours at a time.

I enjoy these things. I hold them dear to my heart.

But I understand that one day, I will not have them. Do you understand yet?

Knowing that you will not have them one day makes you enjoy that thing oh-so-much more. One day, YOU ARE DESTINED TO LOSE IT.

When you've grasped this concept? Then you can begin your life.

Enjoy, my friends. Now, the rides over. I hope you've learned something today, I know I have and I've enjoyed teaching you all! Please put your seat-back tables in their upright and locked position. Exits to the left, watch that first step and please, have a very nice day.
