Derby update! Also passed the minimum derby skill test early this year and 3 days later played in my very first scrimmage! Totally awesome experience. Unfortunately a few weeks later I broke my finger during a demo. -_-
It's healed pretty ok now, although still a bit weak and stiff.
Anyway next week there is a scrimmathon, block around the clock, 24 hour non stop scrimmages fundraiser. There will be people from all over the world, which is fantastic! So much experience to be gained, it will be fun. :D there will be all kinds of fun scrimmages like tiny vs tall, marvel vs dc, wildlings vs the nights watch, star wars vs lord of the rings etc! <3
It's a bit scary, since I only had one derby practice since I'm back on skates. :/ hope to put in some good practice this week too.
Still, THE FUN! :D
/update
I passed my minimum skate skill test amg!!! :D :D
The hopping and slicing weren't very good, but the weaving (slalom) went very very well, like they all cheered loudly and later I heard I was as fast as someone in my team that's selected for the national team, so that was super awesome. =^__^=
Now on to derby skill training, which will properly start in a month. <3
Time for a beer and celebrate. :D
*happy*
- Jeroen and I started watching the chamber of secrets yesterday, when he suddenly took my sock, and I was like wtf did you do that for I'm getting cold feet! But then he threw it in Dobby's face right when he had a close up. x)
- Tonight is my last (extra) training before the minimum skate skill test, still worried that my slicing and hopping aren't good enough, and my backwards skating is wonky too. -_-
- I have a possible derby name I'm growing fond of: Stormageddon!
- I'm only a week behind now in Junk, 1333 posts to go. :D
Someone found a lost cat today in our street, arranged the whole search for the owner thing but couldn't give the cat a place to stay for a bit, (animal control wouldn't take it) so the cat got dumped at our place because grocery shopping timing. Holy cow that cat was beautiful!! :O Very expensive looking Birman and fluffy as hell, and such a sweety. :3 Lot's of staring and glaring with our cats of course, not that the other cat was bothered by that. :p Luckily the owner (or actually the sister who was supposed to care for it atm, oops) rang our bell this evening. We actually got some lovely flowers from them later as a thank you, which was unnecessary, but very nice. We totally wanted to keep that cat. <_<
I've joined the local roller derby league Northern Lightning Rollergirls! :3
It's really awesome. So far we're getting drilled to pass the minimum skills test, those 27 rounds in 5 minutes are a bitch. D:
At least the jumping, falling and crossovers and stuff are going rather well for me. (derby skills will follow later)
Being fresh meat I still have to come up with a derby name though. Halp?
My hamster likes to lick me. <_<
In the last couple of weeks:
My sister got me a mannequin: | I finished my new wintercoat: | I met Andy Souwer (k1 champion): | I got Ziva, here giving me the evil eye while she's eating: |
The result of a girl who didn't set her birthdayparty invite on facebook on private and the national media making a hype of that mistake.
It happens to be my town of birth, where I grew up and my parents still live.
most people (around 5000) that came from all over the country were very nice and relaxed, ready to party.
Too bad there were quite some bastard hooligans ruining destroying and messing up everything.
There was supposed to be an alternate location with music to send all the people to, but no one actually got send there and stuff escalated.
Cars on fire, shops sacked, police got attacked with beer bottles, pots of plants, bicycles, traffic signs etc.
I happened to be there with my bf who took these pictures, it was bizarre beyond words.
My vacation monies goes to paying my study, so I just hop on with my parents on their ship once again and have me a week of sailing. It feels somewhat boring this year, but it's vacation nonetheless. No cleaning, cooking, or taking care of anything, so, looking forward to that.
I'll be leaving harbour tomorrow morning.
Also, I do have that chronic vit B12 deficiency. I'll have an appointment soon about fixing that, looking forward to that a lot. :3
