Have not slept (properly - the dozing during the EEG doesn't count) in over 30 hours. Must. Nap.
After that I shall take coffee, watch a video or two and then get to work like a small animal.
Raindrops knock at the window
and I feel hollow in the silence—
I am the only one breathing this still air
in a room that is not mine
but has become yet another home
for me to return to.
The distance is a faint ache on my skin
and the clock mocks me,
ticking away secondsminutes
too fast even as it is too slow.
Separation
has brought me to my knees before, you know.
Yet I cannot regret giving my heart the leave
to love you.
I, uh, have no idea. Comment, plz?
All the whispers say,
“This is a blessed child.
She will show us the way,
redeem us of our wrongs
and light the dark paths
to lead us home.”
Sharp eyes and sharper smile
greet each awed pilgrim,
searching, probing for the answers
they want her to give them.
When the oracle speaks,
she releases their souls
from the cold emptiness of the world;
gates of heavens
are thrown open wide.
Every fool sings in rapture
even as he is swallowed whole.
All the poets write,
“There is no greater glory
than to be gazed upon by those eyes;
no honour to compare
to being touched by her hand.
She holds the keys to Paradise.”
The oracle smiles,
wraps her delicate fingers
around their hearts
and twists.
Read this poem. Seriously, read it. For some reason it made me teary-eyed, and despite the fact that I am a rather emotional person, that doesn't happen very often.

I'm going to need someone to poke me periodically and check whether I'm still awake. Not now, but during the night (European time, that is). I have an EEG in the morning and they want me to stay up for a full 24 hours before that. I was not built for staying up that long, so... yeah. This is going to be fuuuuun.
D'ya guys think it would be worthwhile to create a page for my arty and crafty stuff on FB?
Failed English Grammar 2, so I'm going to re-sit Friday next week. Didn't do well enough in the entrance exam for Information Studies (their minor student quota is 8 and there were maybe 15 people taking the exam - so this time it was not about me doing poorly, it was about other people doing better), so I'll have to try again next spring. I will be able to start Literature, though, because that's a free minor.
I have a Sociolinguisti
Four papers, one of which has its deadline this Friday. The remaining three will have to be done by Friday next week, since I hope to go home after that exam.
Busy busy.
My eye itches. Goddamned pollen.
I think I'll do a bit of travelling the summer next year if I can save enough money. I haven't decided where, yet - but it will most likely mean that I'll get to meet one or more of my Elftown friends. :) You'll get to have a Lami in your neighbourhood!
Essay done, hooray! Probably crappy, but it's well over the minimum and passing is the most important part. If I get a 3, I'll be filled with glee.
They've posted a preliminary course schedule for next year and I'm going like OMNOMNOMNOM COURSES. I feel so geeky when that happens.
The time has come to turn my Literary Developments 1660-1900 class essay into a term paper. Basically I just need to fix some things and write at least 600 more words. Doesn't sound like the most daunting of tasks, but it will still take me most of the day.
I just had a thought. I'm going to start putting my essays up here. Not that I think many people (or anyone, really) will read them, but it might still be nice.
