...weird dream.

Apparently, I was cleaning up under my desk after noting, to my horror, that my computer was seemingly leaking water. I discovered that it was because of a mound of ice and snow that had begun to melt. Apart from that, I found all kinds of stuff, like dirty dishes. One serving plate was full of insects, and after having a moment of slight panic, I went to the window and opened it. Most of the bugs took off as if on cue, though I needed to help a couple of them get fully outside before I slammed the window back shut. About all that was left was this small creature that looked a bit like a salamander and vas very hard to get a hold of. I tried to capture it under a box, but it got out of my room and only then did I manage to catch it, with my bare hands - just as it seemed to go through some kind of implosion.
The thing turned into a multi-coloured turtle. Okay, this is almost acceptable. But the turtle had a trunk. You know, like elephants do? It was quite the disturbing sight. Cute, though.
I think the dream ended when I decided to go get it some water...

Went to the employment office today, to renew my status as an unemployed person, help me get a job plzkthxbye! Nothing out of the usual there, got the next appointment and some more instructions, and some job ads that were recently added to their database. I'll have to see about applying to a place or two today.
After that, I proceeded to hunt for Charlotte Brontë's Jane Eyre, with quite poor success. I ran all over the town, checked five bookstores, and only one of them had it - and it wasn't the inexpensive Wordsworth Classics version I wanted, but some Penguin Reds that didn't even have a particularly nice-looking cover. It tried, but failed miserably. How hard can it be to have one bloody book in the store? I mean, I know its popularity probably has shot up a great deal since they're currently showing the BBC miniseries (which is good, by the way, and I admit it did affect my desire to get my hands on the book) on TV, but still!
Thus I left for home, consoling myself with a yogurt drink, a bit of Queen, and the fact that I did get two Jane Austen novels our shelves previously lacked; namely, Mansfield Park and Northanger Abbey. I still have a bad craving for Persuasion, though - loved the film, too.

Ah, well. I still have many things to do today, so now I shall get myself something to eat and then take care of the laundry duty that was delegated to me by mother dearest.

I've decided I'm going to send cards to people while I'm on my trip, from every place I can. Who wants to get cards from all over Europe? xD

March 19th, 2007. This day marks ten months since Jukka ended our relationship... and it marks the revival of our partnerhood.
Yes, that's right. I have ceased being a single, and I'm loving it! It's a silent joy, and there are some issues we need to work around, but I'm hoping for the best. It'll work out this time. It has to.

Dear diary,

Today I had a lot of energy (most of it excess nervous energy after having to call my old employer - I hate making phone calls), and actually Got Things Done. Of course, as it's me, I had to drop a couple of things from my to-do list to be done later, but still - I've actually accomplished something today. Yay!

And this will probably be the last diary entry for today. Sorry 'bout the spam. xD

So, a couple of months ago, I got an mp3-player from [xerya] as a souvenir from China. This is all well and good, and gods know I'd wanted one for a very long time. However, I have one itty bitty problem.

The manual is in Chinese.

Small details and coincidences amuse me. Like this one:
I have a Realms of Lemire Arena character named Zahra. Snazzy girl, I like her. Okay? Okay.
Now, there's a parliamental candidate named Zahra Abdulla. And this is what amuses me, because she's a member of the Green Party and thus has a chance of getting my vote. Harharhar.

*blink* I have a feeling I possess a really weird sense of humour. Do I?

Oh gods. I love languages. xD
Now I remember why I wanted to study English... But that will come later. I still have time even after whatever education I'll be going for now.
