Yesterday I was having a read of someone's rant against another person and a thing that had offended the writer was the way the other person had used her character in a yaoi-painting. My two cents for this:
Yaoi is no more art than hentai is. It is not 'artistic nudity', it's not even 'sexual art' it is down right pornographic. Any hentai image would be removed from any elfhouse without question (other, non-manga sexual drawings also), but then what happens with ths yaoi-stuff? It wins Christmas art competition! And to borrow Silvie's word, it's because people are so heterophobic that now separate rules must be applied to homosexual things? People are afraid to tell that gay-pornograph
Another thing that irks me is snooze in alarm clocks. I never use it, I don't see the point. I know when I want to wake up so I set my alarm at that time. But the people I have to share my sleeping-space with me are not so. They will put the alarm at 9, let it ring (here's where I wake up), turn it on snooze. In 6-10 minutes it rings again. They turn it on snooze again until it is the time when they know they have to wake up. Now me, I know I need to wake up at 10, but my fellow sleeper makes me wake up an hour early and I will not go back to sleep, or even if I did manage, I would only be woken again with the next snooze and again had to struggle to sleep again. Why can't they just put the alarm to wake them when they need to wake up? Or at the first alarm change the time to the final time when they need to wake up, so they wouldn't have to press snooze three four times? Or just tell me when they need to wake up, and I'd take care they will... <.< And extra cringe on the snooze comes from mobile phone alarms. The alarm is some ridiculous ringtone and the newer contraptions even vibrate and flash lights and what-not, and when that happens every 10 minutes full one hour before you need to wake up... I'd find that a pretty effective torture method.
Ever had a moment of clarity where you truly discovered your own naivety?
Well I had one today - nothing embarrassing, but I stopped me on my tracks to wonder how could I ever have been so blue-eyed.
There's this nice Finnish song I've been listening to lately, I'll roughly translate the lyrics:
When Sarah turned 8, it happened that only one guest came when 25 were invited. Oh how it hurt the heart, what should I do? And the only guest was Tuija from next door, and everyone said she is a liar, there she stood, why won't she leave? But she walked over and said "you shouldn't be sad, lets play princesses. And we'll become eternal friends, just like Anna and Diana. You mustn't be sad, lets go swing in the park. And the world will become more beautiful, because it is ours." Now Tuija is only seven, but she has learned, that you need to work hard if you want to be happy in this life. For if you don't get yourself a fried, you'll end up alone. So Tuija called Sarah's guest and said "what a sad day this is, Sarah is ill and yes, it's contagious, don't come after all."
Now for a really long time I didn't know that it means that Tuija cancelled everybody elses invitation so she could become friends with Sarah. I just thought no one showed up and Tuija and Sarah made a plan to save Sarah's face by telling them that she was sick and then they had fun in the park. And when I realised that the liar-part about Tuija is actually true, and that's what she does before Sarah's party... Well I just thought I had been very silly.

I really hate that girl-gets-rape
1. Don't go home to have a shower or change clothes: go straigh to the police. The bastard's DNA-callcard is all over you -- the police can get the information they need to bust that loser's ass.
2. Go to the nurse/hospital to get a "morning after" -pill. It's tiny so any pill-swallowin
3. Tell people about it. Either some helping hotline or your best friends or family -- anyone you can trust. Might be hard but you have to. Knowledge is power and if you share your view of what happened, your side will be more powerful. The rapist will spread his view for sure, some lie where he finally scored with you or what ever -- fight back. Let your friends fight for you if you can't face his accusations and lies.
Sorry for all the cursing, it's just frustrated when people don't think.

When I first did my new house, I erased my entire badge-slot empty. Yes, I do rule. No, that is not a good thing at all. -_-;
I watched... that film with John Belushi in it (Delta-jengi in Finnish... National Lampoon -something? Anyway, the original one from the 70s)
-I didn't like it. Because that¨s not what my university-lif
-I don't like those fraternity-thi
-I didn't like the sexy things because sexy things in movies can make me horny and it's sad to be horny all alone (don't tell this to Darling or I'll never get to watch anything but movies with sex in them). And that is true, I am so easily affected that it's hard to watch a sex-scene without getting into the mood (unless it's well filmed to make the sex appear disgusting or funny), and that same sensitivity applies to all scenes: scary scenes scare me, funny scenes make me laugh, sad scenes make me cry. I get so sucked into the film that it does influence me very heavily.
-In that movie John Belushi looks exactly like (a fat version of) my ex-boyfriend and it disturbs me. I love John Belushi, he's funny, but that was scary and bothering to watch and made me sad.
In the end: negative movie experience. Which is odd because last time we taped the film it was negative experience as well because I was dying to see it but the videa had a fit and didn't tape the sound so I couldn't watch it then.
