08:23 — Great. The last physics lecture was yesterday and they couldn't tell it on the webpage that is my only source of information! So I came to school two hours too early. I'm pissed. I'll go home right after I've printed this weird health questionnaire thingy. Screw maths. Screw digital electronics. Screw circuit analysis.

13:28 — Ohh, I just have to rant about this. There's this community in LJ: http://www.livejournal.com/community/beautyandbooks/
It's a very shallow place that implies that intelligent people are always ugly and beautiful ones are stupid. Well, after looking at the community and especially its logic and the spelling, they prove what is implied true, even if they say they're doing the opposite. Of course, there are smart people there too, but they're getting drowned by the stupid ones. In my opinion, the smart ones would need more respect than that.
They also have a join test (which was revised after we played a practical joke on them (which they couldn't take of course)): http://www.livejournal.com/community/beautyandbooks/53030.html
Just for fun, I'm going to copy, correct and fill out that form. It's so hilarious and I have a few nice quotes.

BOOKWORM

Top twenty books (I'm just writing everything I read in Finnish in Finnish):
Pimeyden vasen käsi / The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula Le Guin
Imajica by Clive Barker
Kristalliruusu by Risto Isomäki (holy crap, best Finnish sci-fi short stories I've read O_O)
Viimeinen lapsitähti by Maarit Verronen
Ruohometsän kansa / Watership Down by Richard Adams
Rottaodysseia by Andrzej Zaniewski
Kyberias by Stanislaw Lem
Sirens of Titan by Kurt Vonnegut
Linnunradan käsikirja liftareille (all five) by Douglas Adams
Tripodien aika (all three) by John Cristopher
Rikos ja rangaistus by Fedor Mihailovitš Dostojevski
Sivullinen by Albert Camus
Sadan vuoden yksinäisyys by Gabriel García Márquez
Pöytään ja vuoteeseen by Laura Esquivel
Macbeth by Shakespeare
Laulu tulipunaisesta kukasta by Johannes Linnankoski
Several random sci-fi books I read but whose names I can't remember for my life.
Veterinarian books (OMG! The blood! The GORE! You don't believe it until you read it!)

Describe yourself through a book quote:
"'It was pure invention ... Like all my favorite things, including myself. Pure invention!'" from Imajica by Clive Barker

Favourite quote from a book?
The one above, at least.

What book always makes you cry?
All/none of them?

What book always makes you laugh?
All/none of them?

If you had to do/bone/sex up/sleep with/fuck one character from any book, who would you do?
This is a seriously fucked up question. Until very recently, I wouldn't have had any answer. But now I do: the wonderful androgyne Pie 'oh' pah, the mystif who is "a function of its lover's every desire" from Imajica by Clive Barker! Squee ^_^

Name one to three "guilty pleasure" books:
Uh, none?

What was your favorite childhood book?
Ruohometsän kansa by Richard Adams

What is your least favourite book and why?
There was this one youth book I once read... it was about stupid people, had almost no plot at all and not much anything else either. It sucked REALLY BAD. It was HORRENDOUS. I really feel sorry for the writer, I'm sure he could've done something a bit better. This list should also include Suuri illusioni by Mika Waltari (holy hell, it sucked), Tuntematon sotilas by Väinö Linna (well, I think I only read the first three chapters, but I'm so not interested in just character descriptions) and Seitsemän veljestä by Aleksis Kivi (holy hell, it was a pain. I so DO NOT care).

What book has had the greatest influence on you and why?
Ruohometsän kansa by Richard Adams, because I was so young when I read it.

What is your favorite book genre?
SCI-FI!

Do you buy books new, used, or just borrow them?
My first option is to go to the library. Then I'll ask from other people. Then I'll go find where they sell the book and buy the cheapest one, be it new or used.

What was the best book you've ever read for school?
Rikos ja rangaistus by Fedor Mihailovitš Dostojevski

OPINIONS

Pick a controversial issue (abortion, gay marriage, gun control, etc.) and explain your stance on it:
I just explained most of it in <diary:424644>. As for gun control: forbid all guns. I don't want to get shot by stupid people.

Book bannings/burnings. Acceptable? Unacceptable? Are there ANY books that should be banned or is it all over unacceptable?
All copies of the Bible, Koran and other religious books like those should be banned and burned. Also those kind of study books, unless they tell about all religions.

Movies based on books:
Sure, but they better make sure they won't mess up.

If you were the president (or queen or whatever), what would be the first thing you'd change?
Have everyone kill themself.

COMMUNITY

Did you promote? If so, where?
The previous rules forbade it. Sheesh.

How did you learn about this community?
Two mod friends of mine were trolling it on our IRC channel. =D

PICTURES

At least five of your face; one of your bookshelf.
My face would reveal my gender and I don't want people knowing that. So you'll have to do with my hair and eyes. My bookshelf is full of comics, because I borrow most of my books. the one portion that has books is something fact, not fiction. My parents have a few shelves of fiction, I guess I could photo that. but basically it's not mine.

Holy crap. They're imbelices. I like having fun at stupid people's expense.

00:30 — Yay, first of December. Book quote time: from Imajica by Clive Barker.

Page 166:
"But I wanted to see the Merrow Ti' Ti'," Gentle said.
"No chance," Pie returned.
"Why?"
"It was pure invention," Pie said. "Like all my favorite things, including myself. Pure invention!"

Page 665 (put together):
"Study nothing except in the knowledge that you already knew it. Worship nothing except in adoration of your true self. And fear nothing except in the certainty that you are your enemy's begetter and its only hope of healing."

20:37 — I guess I'm going to take up Taekwon-do again. I know I need the exercise as well... and yeah, that's about it. Maybe if I keep my eating habits, I won't gain those 3 kg I seem to have lost during last summer when I didn't move or eat. As if that mattered. I kind of liked weighing exactly 70 kg... I mean, at least there was ONE thing in which I was perfectly average!

02:18 — Well, thanks to [Furr] and his webcam, I was poking around with MSN Messenger and got a virus on my computer. Great. So, I went on a spree and uninstalled everything unnecessary and everything by Microsoft, not including the OS and Office stuff. And never, ever again am I going to get anything from Microsoft. Holy hell.

02:45 — Okay, opinion time. I left it a little unfinished last time because I got bored, but I think I can finish it now.

General: There are too many people in here. The more of them die, the better.

Homosexual marriages: Well, my opinion would be the popular "marriage is about love and nothing else" thing.

Adoption and kid-getting privileges for homosexual couples: Hell yeah. Those who really want the kids should sure as hell get them!

Religion: Kill them all, especially if they're big. While I can understand if someone wants to believe in something unnecessary, for stars' sake, don't make it everybody's issue.

Abortion: Allow for any reason. Death is better than a life of misery.

Death penalty: Hell yeah. If there's no doubt about the charged being guilty, kill without hesitation.

Euthanasia: Hell yeah. Death is better than living the last ten years of your life as a vegetable.

Stem cell research, genetic screening and similar: Oh yes. Stem cells are very neat and we should take all advantage of them like we do of all other cells! Genetic screening helps in getting kids with no diseases. It would just have to be available for everyone.

More coming if remember any. How many of you hate me now? =D

17:17 — Hmmm...

Alcohol: Ban it all NOW NOW NOW! But, I guess allowing under 4 % stuff would be okay.

Smoking: BAN IT YESTERDAY!

Strong, harmful drugs: Ban them.

Mild, relatively harmless drugs: Allow them, as far as overusages will be monitored.

Now, what else...

23:03 — Hrm. My mom keeps saying how I should get some exercise and move my ass around a little. So, after a long pondering, I thought I might take up Taekwon-do again. A long time ago (well, three–four years, I think) I went to the taekwon-do starters course... and jolly, it was neat and all. The problem was that I didn't like touching people, and I'm still terrified of it. I passed the belt test thing and now I have a yellow belt (or 8th dan thing if I remember correctly). I'd be a nice sight in the starters course again in my suit and yellow belt, especially if no one else is restarting it. Yay. Oh well, maybe I'd gain some respect... or not. And the trainer might make me hold the preliminary jogging/stretching thing. Which I can't do because I'm way too anxious in any kind of social situations. I just can't do it. Ranty ranty rant. Well, another option might be going to gym with my mom, but it feels a little too superficial somehow. Ah well. I have a month or two to think about it, I guess...

14:24 — Squee. The lecturer for the basic digital electronics course (who also checked my coursework), said that my documentation on the coursework was very good and made it very easy to follow! Also, the digital signal processing course is going down the drain. I have no idea whatsoever what is going on in there and I can't do the exercises because that would require that I understand some of the stuff. Still, I can do the Matlab exercises with the help of the assistant and while I still don't understand anything, at least I learn new Matlab commands.

15:54 — It's weird, but I think I've started to enjoy stupid people. They're always there to remind me how much superior I am and I get an ego boost. Oooh yeah.
In other news, I've been RPing like crazy. I stayed up until about 5 last night. I don't know how I'll managed to drag myself up tomorrow at 8... I should've stayed up through the night.

18:09 — Sometimes I put my hand on my head and forget it there. Eventually I start wondering where it is and border on panic, before I notice the cold stinging feeling coming from it and I remember where I left it. Funny, eh? I drove my mom's miniature soccer players around today and finally understood the meaning of "gossip". Omg.

Darn, my jaw hurts... and this gum is so tasteless. been chewing it for some hours already. Look at the post below, by the way. I was chewing gum then as well. About 5 hours.

My day, when it comes to interaction between mods, was just saved by one of them who actually agreed to look at my pictures and liked them. She saved my day, yay. ^_^ Besides that, I'm having way too much fun RPing. I squee.

23:45 — It's been a rather nice day today. I cleaned our shower room, which was a bother but at least I did it, and after it I felt good. XD Also, I drew some stuff, and lazied around, which is always nice. However, there was one thing that almost ruined my mind: one online friend of mine said she really wasn't impressed at all about the idea of genderlessness. And since she is a rather close friend, I was a bit hurt, to put it lightly. The genderless thing is probably my best and most awesome idea that I love myself and appreciate to no end, so hearing (or more like seeing) something like that from a friend just... isn't good.
Well, it was balanced out by a friendly channelful in Elfchat, they enjoyed the pics I was offering. =D

07:57 — And today morning there were awesome bright blue things in the sky. They looked like clouds first, but they changed too fast to be coulds. Then again, they moved like clouds at times, but some of them were clearly letting the starlight through them. I noticed them when I was driving to school. I could've paid more attention toward the road but well, the lights were so watchable. When I got to school, I looked at the sky and they were indeed just coulds, or were in that place. Some of them had looked more like northern lights. And they were bright blue!
In another news, our connection at home was down again and even several reboots of the router and the computers couldn't save it. So I left to school about 20 minutes early. I've been sitting here over half an hour. XD

16:13 — I've been pretty cold today. I think I fell asleep or lost consciousness or something on the signal processing lecture. So I left after the first lecture and came home an hour early. Yay.

22:46 — Oh my fucking stars. Tonight threre were (are) absolutely fabulous northern lights in here. They're flashing all over the WHOLE SKY, mostly white but greenish and a bit reddish too. They change fast and go through the whole sky, even in the south and all.
And I stood there outside in 0°C. I had just taken a shower so my hair was wet, plus I was wearing my night clothes (shorts and a T-shirt). I stood there HALF AN HOUR, sharp.
Those were the best northern lights I've seen and remembered this far. At one point the whole sky was changing at the same time! It was almost like daylight momentarily! And we were at the center of it, even if we live in a place like this!
I stare in awe. Wow.

In other news, school is pissing me off and I got a new gallery: http://veltzeh.sheezyart.com/

22:30 — Update on my workload. Let's see... advanced math, advanced physics, circuit analysis and digital signal processing. I countinuously get homework from those, and the exercies are usually hard. In addition to that, I'm pretty much completely out in math, utterly confused in signal processing, too careless and clueless in physics and way too lazy in circuit analysis. I'm not getting my homework done. I'm really going to have to study when the exams come.
Digital electronics. Homework there too, but I'm getting my homework done okay enough. Now here's the funny part. I need to do a course work... design a device that'll flash my student number on one 7-segment light thing. You know,

 _
|_|
|_|

Wow, and I'm actually getting the hang of it, I think. But I only have a bit more than a week of time to do it.
Non-school related... I'm supposed to be drawing my RPG comic. It's not really getting anywhere. Also, there are two people for whom I should've drawn pictures ages ago and I just don't get around it. Sigh. And I have a million drawings and comics of my own to do. Not to mention writing, which gets me to the next issue: NaNoWriMo.
I'm not a very good writer and my biggest story, THOH (150 k) is the result of seven years of work. For nano you's have to write 50 k in a MONTH. It's a noble goal but I don't really think I'm up to it. Especially since it's specifically in NOVEMBER. Probably the worst month you could pick. Well, one of the worst. One mod tried to get me into it (well, that was a month ago), but I can't, first reason being that I'm too busy with school. Second that I can't write if I have to write. Third, I'm too bad at writing anyway. From NaNoWriMo we go to NaNoMangO, which is basically the same thing, except you have to do 30 comic pages. They organize it both on November and June. I'd so have liked to take part in it, but my schoolwork prevents me. Sigh. Maybe I can do it in June. Then again, if I HAVE to draw something, especially if it's that big a thing, I'm likely to not do anything. Sigh. Sigh sigh sigh.
Here I sit role-playing.
I'm also doing a PSP coloring tutorial for FARP. Three of them. One might be finished quite soon.

13:26 — Just because I can, I'll list the characters I've played in RPGs.
I applied to two rather random RPGs without getting in. The first was a MUD, and now that I look back at my character application, it's pretty clear why they didn't accept it. Then again, I wasn't given adequate info as to how create the character. The other I almost got in, but at the last moment they first told I can't have a character named Kim because they had had a stupid player by that name, and the other reason was that they didn't let in people under 18. I was over 17 at the time. Yay.

Er, yes. The characters I actually played:

Dead X-Men PBEM:
Kim-like character
Jean Grey

Dead sci-fi PBEM:
Kereko

Dead X-Men Evolution:
Another Kim
Xavier

Twins in a game that never exactly even started

X-Men United (I left the game):
Rem (killed him)
William (don't know what's happened to him)
Waya (was invited back for a time to play a fight scene...)
Beast (I'm the ultimate NPC-controller...)
I'm pretty sure I played Xavier.

X-Men RP:
Kaider
Myetel
Xavier (Why do I always end up playing him?))
plus other NPCs

AWLMountain:
Tkare

Realms of Lemire:
Tylien
Ke'rodre

Realms of Lemire Arena:
Tylien

16:03 — Just for the record, I left to school at 7 and the lectures ended at 12. I'd have signal processing lectures from 14 to 16, but well... I sat around the computer class for half an hour, then went to buy some paper and stuff and took them to the car so I wouldn't have to carry them around. On the way there, I just went: "Do I have a reason to stay for the lecture? No. Bye." And off I went.
"Farewell..." by Dreamtale. Squee. I seriously like that androgynous singing voice.

21:17 — Speaking of androgynes... I snatched this piece of quotes from a channel (did a bit of googling and it seems to be a piece of song ("World of glass", was it...) by Tristania):
"I'll fulfil all your dreams
Every fantasy
I will be
What you need
Satisfaction guaranteed"

That so sounds like a certain character from a certain book... eh, yeah...

22:21 — Omg.

11:19 — You do not know the meaning of hilariously pathetic until you've seen Sailor Moon dubbed in Swedish with Finnish subtitles. XD Unbelievable. Now I've seen everything.
I need to rant on voting. And homework. Oh and my writing. And nanowrimo.

21:25 — AAAARGH! Nothing is worse than two hours of involuntary internet downtime!!!

22:28 — Scratch the two hours. THREE hours. I almost died. I walked around the house aimlessly eating two cookies and played a card game with [Gastogh] and [Levoton]. Whew. Well, the fact that we caught the last episode of the third season of Farscape made it a little better.
I just cleaned out my desk. You wouldn't believe how much petrofied stuff there was in there! I even found all the papers I though I didn't get from the university four months ago. Teaches me to read the stuff when it's sent to me. Oh well. Despite the downtime, I didn't manage to get any homework done.

00:52 — Yesterday and the day before that I had this INFERNAL piece of popcorn stuck apparently between two teeth and the gums in my mouth. It hurt and stinged! I tried to get it out several times, ny nails, dental floss, sticky candy and tongue resulting in no result or more pain. I wonder why I didn't try with a toothpick. Tonight my mom suggested a toothpick and there I went... And it got out. All hail to Murphy's Law.
I watched the last episode of Total Recall. I was tired and it seemed a little boring, but stars, did it wake me up during the last minutes! Yep, I could call it a good series.

13:02 — Yesterday morning I left at about 7:15 to school... My mom had been warning me how slippery it might be near Lielahti. I knew this, I had seen cars sliding there. Well, I kept watching the ground and nope, it didn't even feel slippery. However, when I got to Hervannan valtaväylä and approximately 5 km away from my university, the road was practically covered with smooth ice. It took me a while to notice it, but I saw that the car kept sliding from the middle of the road to the edges, so finally I just drove near the edge of said road. It got a bit tricky at a crossroad, though. there were lots of the smooth ice and when I hit the brakes, they kept bouncing at my feet like good sliding ABS brakes should. If I hadn't had ABS, I might have bumped into another car. Phew. Around the center of Hervanta it was still icy, and being a city the road were small with lots of turns. bit difficult to drive on ice... Oh well. I got out alive.

13:16 — Oh. I finally managed to send the darn CS essay. Apparently the only problem was that the automatic checker program didn't like the webmail I was using it to send, because I don't like sending stuff with the text email programs, the reason being that I like copy&paste too much. Oh well, it's done nevertheless.
