And another...

A SMALL WORLD

If we could shrink the Earth's population to a village of precisely 100 people, with all the existing human ratios remaining the same, it would look something like the following:

There would be:
57 Asians
21 Europeans
14 from the Western Hemisphere, both north and south
8 Africans

52 would be female
48 would be male
70 would be non-white
30 would be white

70 would be non-Christian
30 would be Christian
89 would be heterosexual
11 would be homosexual

6 people would possess 59% of the entire world's wealth and all 6 would be from the United States

80 would live in substandard housing
70 would be unable to read
50 would suffer from malnutrition
1 would be near death; 1 would be near birth
1 (yes, only 1) would have a college education
1 would own a computer

The following is also something to ponder ...

If you woke up this morning with more health than illness ... you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.

If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation ... you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.

If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death ... you are more blessed than three billion people in the world.

If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep ... you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace .. you are among the top 8% of the worlds wealthy.

If your parents are still alive and still married ... you are very rare, even in the United States and Canada.

If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you, and furthermore, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world that cannot read at all.

WORK like you don't need the money.
LOVE like you've never been hurt.
DANCE like nobody's watching
SING like nobody's listening
LIVE like it's Heaven on Earth

I found this on Yahoo - Santas in Sydney have been told not to say 'ho ho ho' - because the greeting may be offensive to women.

WTF?! That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard!

I would just like to say I hate the caravan more than ever now. I now have terrible sun burn on my back and it hurts! Considering my family have had to listen to me complain I thought it was only fair that everyone else should have to too <img:44166_1164145171.gif>

Have you ever drawn your friends and then realised the end product looks nothing like them?
And I look almost oriental.
Balls.
I don't think I should even attempt this in the future. :P

did you know scientists in Israel have created a featherless chicken by crossing a normal chicken with a breed which has a naturally bare neck? Well did you?

Here are some facts about chickens:
- featherless chickens cannot mate because they cannot flap their wings
- plucking normal chickens requires the use of large amounts of water
- featherless chickens are very vulnerable to temperature variations
- featherless chickens are more likely to suffer from sunburn
- air conditioning, to keep the temperature down, is needed for rearing normal chickens
- some of the food eaten by normal chickens goes into producing feathers.

this poem is so sad I was crying when I first read it

Daddy's Poem
Her hair was up in a ponytail, her favourite dress tied with a bow.
Today was Daddy's Day at school, and she couldn't wait to go.
But her mommy tried to tell her, that she probably should stay home.
Why the kids might not understand if she went to school alone.
But she was not afraid; she knew just what to say. What to tell her
Classmates of why he wasn't there today.
But still her mother worried, for her to face this day alone. And that was
Why once again, she tried to keep her daughter home.
But the little girl went to school eager to tell them all about a dad she never sees, a dad who never calls.

There were daddies along the wall in back, for every one to meet.
Children squirming impatiently, anxious in their seats.
One by one the teacher called a student from the class. To introduce their
daddy, as seconds slowly passed.
At last the teacher called her name, every child turned to stare.

Each of them was searching, a man who wasn't there.
"Where's her daddy at?" She heard a boy call out.
"She probably doesn't have one," another student dared to shout.
And from somewhere near the back, she heard a daddy say,
"Looks like another deadbeat dad, too busy to waste his day."
The words did not offend her, as she smiled up at her Mom.
And looked back at her teacher, who told her to go on.
And with hands behind her back, slowly she began to speak.
And out from the mouth of a child, came words incredibly unique.

"My Daddy couldn't be here, because he lives so far away.
But I know he wishes he could be, since this is such a special day.
And though you cannot meet him, I wanted you to know.
All about my daddy, and how much he loves me so.
He loved to tell me stories he taught me to ride my bike.
He surprised me with pink roses, and taught me to fly a kite.
We used to share fudge sundaes, and ice cream in a cone.
And though you cannot see him. I'm not standing here alone.

"Cause my daddy's always with me, even though we are apart
I know because he told me, he'll forever be in my heart."
With that her little hand reached up to lie across her chest.
Feeling her own heartbeat, beneath her favourite dress.
And from somewhere here in the crowd of dads, her mother stood in tears.
Proudly watching her daughter, who was wise beyond her years.
For she stood up for the love of a man not in her life.
Doing what was best for her, doing what was right.
And when she dropped her hand back down,
Staring straight into the crowd.
She finished with a voice so soft, but its message clear and loud.
"I love my daddy very much, he's my shining star
And if he could, he'd be here, but heaven's just too far.
You see he is a Marine and died just this past year,
When a roadside bomb hit his convoy and taught Americans to fear.
But sometimes when I close my eyes, it's like he never went away. "
And then she closed her eyes, and saw him there that day.
And to her mother’s amazement, she witnessed with surprise.
A room full of daddies and children, all starting to close their eyes.
Who knows what they saw before them, who knows what they felt inside.
Perhaps for merely a second, they saw him at her side.

"I know you're with me Daddy," to the silence she called out.
And what happened next made believers of those once filled with doubt.
Not one in that room could explain it, for each of their eyes had been closed.
But there on the desk beside her, was a fragrant long-stemmed pink rose.
And a child was blessed, if only for a moment, by the love of her shining star.
And given the gift of believing, that heaven is never too far.
They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them,
a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them.
Take the time...to live and love!
Until eternity. God bless
