The Year of the Rabbit

1915, 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999

People born in the Year of the Rabbit are articulate, talented, and ambitious. They are virtuous, reserved, and have excellent taste. Rabbit people are admired, trusted, and are often financially lucky. They are fond of gossip but are tactful and generally kind. Rabbit people seldom lose their temper. They are clever at business and being conscientious, never back out of a contract. They would make good gamblers for they have the uncanny gift of choosing the right thing. However, they seldom gamble, as they are conservative and wise. You are the kind of person that people like to be around - affectionate, obliging, always pleasant. You have a tendency, though, to get too sentimental and seem superficial. Being cautious and conservative, you are successful in business but would also make a good lawyer, diplomat, or actor. They are most compatible with those born in the years of the Sheep, Pig, and Dog.

Some Rabbits: Confucius, Albert Einstein, Coretta Scott King, Rudolph Nureyev, Queen Victoria, Orson Welles, Jane Yolen.

So lets get Technical! Web surfing as Surfaced these very interesting facts about the Specific Dates of the elements for the Chinese Zodiac Eventually I'll Elaborate on these and take down the Generic descriptions! So be watching for the Change!

Evah Jane Donnelly        Take Home Quiz  #3   11/29/06
1  Circulatory system-The bodily system consisting of the heart, blood vessels, and blood that circulates blood throughout the body, delivers nutrients and other essential materials to cells, and removes waste products. Also called cardiovascular system. (4) Three benefits of Massage therapy on this system is: 1) that it “improves both general and local blood circulation”, 2) Studies have shown that capillary vessel dilation and increased blood flow in an area occur with a massage. (3) 3) Superficial friction produces hyperemia or increased local circulation in the skin and underlying connective tissue. And this effect is the result of the release of a chemical: histamine which causes dilation of capillaries in that particular area. A pathology that is common to this system is blood clots, which are usually caused by long bed rest, damage to the veins through injuries or infection, pregnancy hormones such as those found in birth control pills, genetic disorders, and also conditions that thicken or slow the blood.(5) Massage therapists should be aware of this pathology because if the client is on blood thinner then, you as the therapist creates higher blood flow then they could have an issue with their blood pressure going up.
Digestive system-the system by which ingested food is acted upon by physical and chemical means to provide the body with absorbable nutrients and to excrete waste products; in mammals the system includes the alimentary canal extending from the mouth to the anus, and the hormones and enzymes assisting in digestion. (4) Three benefits of massage on the digestive system are that: 1) massage enhances digestion through eliciting or educe the relaxation response, which in turn increases digestive activity, 2) relaxation massage as part of a stress reduction program helps prevent digestive maladies or ailment, 3)massage has direct mechanical effects actually move the contents of the large intestine and initiates the reflex effects that stimulate the peristaltic movement.(3) A pathology that is very common in the digestive system is diabetes which has to do with the over production of urine. (6) As the massage therapist it is important to know before hand if the client has diabetes because giving a diabetic client a massage could affect their blood sugar therefore causing problems after the massage, which could include fainting.
Muscular system-The bodily system that is composed of skeletal, smooth, and cardiac muscle tissue and functions in movement of the body or of materials through the body, maintenance of posture, and heat production. (4) The massage benefits to the muscular system are: 1) the effects on the cellular activity whether it be under-activity or over-activity ex: massage given right after strenuous activity reduces muscle stiffness and soreness, 2) massage is for the most part used to relax hypertonic or tense muscles, 3) massage also increases joint mobility and flexibility. Because flexibility refers to the degree of range of motion in a joint. And what moves a joint? A muscle!
2 A potential injury that massage therapists must watch for is those that are formed from repetitive and static movements. (7)
3 Massage therapy is very relaxing even when you’re the one who’s giving the massage. Massage is also very peaceful to the therapist and the client. Massage therapy as a career is very relaxed and laidback. There are also regulations and ethics that need to be upheld as well. So, this profession is not one for those who can’t follow rules or don’t have any ethics of their own.
4 Stretch- in terms related to massage therapy would have to do with the muscles when they are being stretched to lengthen them and in turn making them healthier. Slack- this would be the opposite of stretch in a muscle when it is relaxed. An example of each would be: flexing an extending the arm.
5 Golgi Tendon Organ- A spindle shaped structure at the junction and a tendon. This structure is thought to function as a feedback system that senses muscle tension through tendon stretch, inhibits muscle contraction of the agonist, and facilitates contraction of the antagonistic muscle. (1) The purpose of this mechanism, known as autogenic facilitation, is to prevent diverse and damage to the muscle and corresponding joint. An example of this might be when you’re stretching right before you do a race the Golgi tendon organ tells your muscle how far it can stretch. Muscle Spindle Cell- cells that monitor skeletal muscle length and trigger stretch reflexes. (2) An example of this would be also when you’re stretching for that race, but then you accidentally pull a muscle that you were stretching that’s actually an example of the muscle spindle cell malfunctioning.

Evah Jane Donnelly   Eastern Anatomy and Physiology  Midterm Essay 11/01/06
  Fire
It’s summer in the southern state of Georgia, and it’s really hot! As I sunbathe, my complexion gets burnt red. I make a joke to myself, “I smell something burnt. Oh wait it’s me!” I laugh to myself. And as I’m lying there I’m perspiring like a ‘pig’. As I get up, I feel the blood rushing through my blood vessels and ended up accidently biting the tip of my tongue. I needed to get a nice cool drink and since I’m craving it, I’ll have a nice big piece of baker’s chocolate! I love that bitter taste it has! My favorite time of the day is from 11am-1pm especially since I like to do my exercising at this point in the day. This makes me very joyous, and makes it easier to rule my shen.
  Earth
It’s now Indian summer. The leaves on the trees are just starting to turn yellow and orange. My favorite time to eat is 7am-9am, then I like to just relax and from 9am-11am. The smell of the air is the fragrance of rotting leaves. I feel sympathy and worry about the upcoming winter, because my flesh doesn’t seem to like to like the coldness. In this time of the year I feel most centered. With my lips and my mouth I taste the sweetness of the air which makes my mouth salivate. And because I’m in such a good mood it makes me feel like singing! In this time of the year my mental aspect is a deep concentration about the damp, humid weather to come after the winter months. My stomach and spleen are very happy this type of year! ^_^
  Metal
Now, its autumn. The air is getting dryer, because the earth is getting ready for when everything is going to be white. I start to waken between 3 and 5am because for some reason it’s really hard to breathe. I think it’s because of all the mucus in my nose. But, that problem seems to be cured when I inhale some nice spicy or pungent cooking spices for my food. I think I might move to the west so I can spicy food all the time! Everyday before washing my skin and shaving off unwanted body hair, I take my compost out to the compost pile. This is where all my spoiled food sits to decompose and gives off this rotten smell. For some reason, I have this inability to let go of my old habits and takes me a while to let my grief go. And when that happens, I can’t help but to weep.
Student to Teacher note: Sorry for this being late I couldn’t come to class to give this to you & then when I tried to send it to you from my computer it crashed. I had lost it, and then had to fix the computer. So, that’s my reason for it being late. But, I know that you’re sheet said that it would be 5 points taken off each day. But, if you feel that my reason is not plausible then, go ahead and take off five points.
Anyway, here it is.

Girl: "Forgive me father for I have sinned."

Priest: "What have you done my child?"

Girl: "I called a man a son of a bit**."

Priest: "Why did you call him a son of a bit**?"

Girl: "Because he touched my hand."

Priest: "Like this?" (as he touches her hand)

Girl: "Yes father."

Priest: "That's no reason to call a man a son of a bit**."

Girl: "Then he touched my breast."

Priest: "Like this?" (as he touched her breast)

Girl: "Yes father."

Priest: "That's no reason to call him a son of a bit**."

Girl: "Then he took off my clothes, father."

Priest: "Like this?" (as he takes off her clothes)

Girl: "Yes father."

Priest: "That's no reason to call him a son of a bit**."

Girl: "Then he stuck his you know what into my you know where."

True Story:
A religion teacher assigned her class an essay on what makes a good Christian. One student wrote about praying nightly, say no to abortion, banning gay marriage, and donating money. The other student wrote about talking to God and allowing people to enjoy their lives, and supporting gay marriage.

The day the teacher was to hand the papers back, she called up the second student and told him she would pray for him when he went to hell. The student asked why would he be going to hell, and why he got an F on his paper. The teacher told him that Catholisim is against gay marriage. The student looked at her for a minute, then said aloud, "I'm gay." The teacher kicked him out of class as if he had said fuck or worshipped Satan.

A girl in the back of class who had a boyfriend and was obviously straight got up and left too.

* If you would leave the classroom, repost this. It doesn't matter if you're straight, bi, or gay. It doesn't matter if you're Catholic or not. Everyone is a human being and deserves happiness. *
[Everyone Deserves HAPPINESS!]

Post this in your house or diary if you beleive the same.

i got this from my mom's email that she showed me!

The following verse is from the Koran, (the Islamic Bible) Koran
(9:11)

- For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome
Eagle.

The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah
and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more
rejoiced;

for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah; and there
was

peace.
(Note the verse number!) Hmmmmmmm?!

evah jane, your body's telling you to Exercise More

Taking it easy is nice. No argument there. A mellow and easy-going person like you is probably well versed in the art of relaxation. Stressing less is important, but your body also needs to get the blood flowing on a regular basis.

We're not saying you need to start training for a marathon. There are some easy steps you can take to get in some exercise. Instead of taking the elevator, go for the stairs. Park your car farther away from the stores to get a walk in. So what if sweat messes up your hair? It's good for you. Just make sure you stay hydrated, eat right, and get plenty of antioxidants. Now get to it!
