Armory
Looking to the short sword at her waist it was clear that she was in dire need of a newer, sharper weapon.
Inkah's blade had dulled after years of training and up until that moment, she had never needed to replace it. She felt the coins in her pocket, not particularly wanting to spend them lightly; she didn't know what she might need further along the road.
"Can I help you lass?" Said the shopkeep.
"Mm, I think I'm in need of a replacement." She held up the sword for the shopkeeper to inspect, she'd never really had to buy her own weapons before and so hoped that she would have something to offer her.
The shopkeeper laughed. "Aye indeed m'dear. I have in my possesion a lovely iron rapier. It may not be your taste, but it's quick. However I can try to repair this blade for 20 bargons. It will probably take...8 hours the least. So which is it then?"
Inkah frowned, she wasn't sure she wanted to spend so much. She bit her lip before looking the shopkeeper in the eye, "Surely, you could do it for less. It's not
too damaged. Not to mention that I am travel weary and my money is little. Surely you could take pity on a young traveller?" Though she hated the idea of it, she batted her eyelids and smiled coyly at the vendor, hoping to wittle down his price.
"20 bars or no dice!" retorted the shopkeeper, becoming rather stern.
"My poor, dear lady, there's nothing to get worked up over,"
Sydnee said softly as he walked into the shop and leaned against the counter, giving the lady a stunning smile. "Now we've been traveling quite a long ways, and the journey has been perilous." He sighed, and gave his best "pity me" look to the shopkeep. "My dear friend here has encountered many a battle, as have I. Now, we are, unfortunately, not nearly as well equipped as we should be, nor do we have as many magnificent weapons as your wonderful shop here has to offer." He gave a slight chuckle and placed 15 bars on the counter. He leaned over a little, and whispered as if he were entrusting the lady with a dear secret, "Now, certainly you can repair the lass' weapon for fifteen? For a poor, weary traveler and to the road ahead?"
The shopkeeper looked at Sydnee with a sort of swoon. "Well I guess it couldn't hurt to give your friend a discount this time around." She took the sword and coins and went to the back room to place the blade in storage.
Sydnee's current balance: 60 bargons
With a smile to Inkah,
Sydnee chuckled. "No need to thank me." He winked, and began to whistle a tune as he headed out of the shop and back out onto the street.
Standing bewildered for a moment,
Inkah could do nothing but blink. After a few moments she followed Sydnee out of the shop, aiming to catch up with him.
