-=Breath and Blade=-
As my eyes open, in pallid morning's ray
There is a calmness about the newfound day
My soul be still, as in a reflection of the pond
My mind is free from thought, as I lay
My arms feel nothing of it's usual lament
Today my foes are tired, their anger spent
my weapons, glimmer with the sharpness of truth
And I, for one, care not where they went
I will meet death head on, and proud should it be
that the time has drawn nigh apon me
Until then I'll be strong and fast, wise and upright
For at this moment, all weak and useless thought flee
Under the sandals of my efforts, the grip virtue
the sinew of honor, from where my sword drew
Apon the first enemy, who reigned apon me woe
To the last soul that shall pass me anew.
I lie awake, myself at peace
my balance be found, my soul entreats
these humble truths as I rise to court
Lady Destiny as she asks,
Today, be you a man?
No.
Today,
I am a Samurai.
