Thoughts intertwine with moods of grey
Of all lost things we night must feed
Rule us, hold us, to keep at bay
Some lost thing to fill our need
Hopeful thought deflected once
we offer up in mornings bead
To shine again the stillborn sun
And light our suffered marks convey
All but shed our tortured mask
with but a scrap of love to this we say
Our heart is fed on surface hate
To once my bitterness away
The piercing scar of our regret
To walk ourselves another day
We are the tear you shed,
Your sorrow's messenger.
