Marriage through Waves

The photograph may appear an odd choice given the theme, however, I feel it suits quite well. I could easily say the piano strings are “entwined” however, they’re not, but coiled and spun. Therefore, the continuity between my image and the theme is not a physical one, but of the physical catalyst. It’s C2 (Second octave of”c” on a piano) with the damper held up to give the properties I need as well as to denote its position. Those aware of the harmonic series of this note and the nature of sound should be aware of what I’m getting at here. This particular key is an interesting one, because when the damper is held up and a separate note—even on the other end of the keyboard, most notably the tonic, subdominant, and mediant—is played, with dampers, it will resonate and sound through C2. So they’re entwined through sympathetic resonance; they never touch physically, but are forever married and wrapped around each other along with a myriad of other frequencies and semation tones… get it?
