I am tired, and can feel these stone walls
pressing down on my spirit.
Yet I know rest will come soon,
as I have made my peace with the only
one that can pardon my sins. 
Though they may cage me then kill me.
It is not for them to truly judge.

There are no regrets, save the burden placed
upon my heart. I could almost thank my captors,
for they brought her to me.
Her cool hands as a healing balm,
and a scent of summer rain that lingers
after she has left.

I should not care for her
as it is against all my holy vows.
But He will forgive me of that as well.
For my beloved is the light and the joy of this world.
She is hope.

Tomorrow I will die as all things are want to do.
But I will leave this letter of love.
She will read my words and understand
the love she holds
