Character Name: Anastasia De Archangelo

Age: 24

Gender: female (half-elf)

Height: 5'10"

Build: Anna can best be described as an athletic build. Tall, thin but with a toned muscle build

General Appearance: Old habits die hard, Anna still wears her polished black leather boots, black S.W.A.T. pants and a black tank top. Her ice blue eyes look as if they can freeze a river in midsummer but her features are as warm a loving embrace. All carefully framed with blue black shoulder length hair.
The left side of Anna's body has been replaced with several mechanical parts. Her arm was taken away from an explosion while she was on patrol with her platoon. Her shoulder, several ribs and her left hip have been replaced as well but her skin was surgically placed over the augmentations.
Her right arm however, is covered with beautiful but morbid tattoos. Daemonic Silhouettes dancing on bones in hellfire with a burning city in the background, the last memory of her home.

Personality: Anna keeps to herself until she gets to know people. 5 years as a paratrooper taught her how easy it is to lose the ones you love
all too well. When she finally warms up to people, Anna is fiercely loyal and will gladly take a bullet to protect them as she has often done before. Until then, she will watch you like a hawk looking for a weakness to exploit should the time come.

History: Anna was the oldest of 3 children with a patient elvish mother. When she was 17 her city was attacked. The images have long since faded but she remembers them dancing like daemons in the night as the city was burned to the ground. Her two younger brothers and mother died that night, the next morning she joined the military with a fist full of anger and a heart full of regret. She excelled in her job as a Mechanic and she was a crack shot with any firearm she was given. She went to airborne school shortly after and never looked back. Three tours from one hell hole to another until her contract was up. She was done killing, she wanted to finally find a quiet place to be at peace.

Other: Anastasia's flat black arm has one slight modification. she forearm has been hollowed out to hold a pistol or other smaller objects. She sold the pistol for a ticket to Krung Thep and the first few months worth of rent in what most people call a "Coffin Hotel". Little more then 6 foot deep tubes with a pillow and blanket. She heard there were jobs for Mechanics or Security in Krung Thep and thats all she needed to make up her mind.

The Immigration Centre of Krung Thep was practically bursting at the seams, people crowded into the waiting rooms and cramming themselves in any opening available. This sense of constant closeness and contact had filled Harlen, one of the leading immigration officers, with a deep sense of cynicism lovingly coated with lashings of misanthropy. "Another day," the middle-aged man grumbled to himself as he picked up his appointment book. He saw the top name and quickly located the young woman's file, ripping it out from under a pile of other files pretty much shoved into the corner shelf. "Anastasia De Archangelo," Harlen called out into the waiting room, standing by his office door and looking around expectantly.

Anastasia quickly jumped up as her name was called. "Moving!" She called out loud as her hand grabbed her bug out bag. Its contents clanking as she threw it over her shoulder. Quickly she cut across then waiting room she had been waiting in for then better part of three hours. Shortly there after she stood infront of the man as if he was we as a superior officer.

Harlen stared at the woman, a confused look on his face as she just stood there. "Well, please come in and take a seat." He moved to the side and pointed to the spare chair facing his desk, his eyes scanning her over quickly. He hated interviewing attractive woman, it always threw him off guard. "Ahem," Harlen cleared his throat awkwardly and closed the door to his office, much of the ambient chatter being cut off by doing so.

Anastasia quietly sat down in then chair across from then man's desk. Her bag was place on then right hand side of her chair. Her eyes quickly scanned over the man before her. Subconsciously looking for weapons or unusual shapes beneath his clothing. Clean, little to no threat expected.

"Did you have a safe trip in?" Harlen fell over his words as he sat down and tried to make himself comfortable, he noted the woman's, bag now dumped beside her chair, before looking her in the face. There was something strange about her he couldn't place. Harlen suddenly realised he hadn't even glanced at Anastasia's file, half-complete though it was. "Excuse me for a second," he muttered as he opened the folder and began to skim the notes. "Half-elf....24.." The man had a nasty habit of thinking out loud.

Anastasia smiled slightly in attempt to cover her actions. She wanted to laugh as the man quickly read over her file. I can save you the time by telling you anything you want to know. The trip was fine but again I am a former paratrooper so I can take care of any unforeseen... issues

"Sorry about that," Harlen felt the need to apologise. "Anyway, welcome to Krung Thep." He smiled and lent forwards on the desk, his chin rested on his palms as he began to mull something over. "First of all I just need some small details, there are a few gaps in your application." Grabbing one of the sheets he pushed it towards Anastasia. "Could you just talk me through these," Harlen gestured to the sheet now infront of her. "I'll be needing..oh-wait." Cutting himself off quickly he pulled the sheet back. "English is your first language right?"

"I was taught English and elvish at the same time. I speak both of them fluently along with Arabic and Russian." Anastasia remembered how the military used her as a translator in the middle east. Simply to ensure they were getting the correct information from the locals. At times she missed the military but not lately. Too much violence in the military and towards it drove Anastasia away to a more peaceful life.

"Brilliant," Harlen hadn't intended to sound so enthusiastic and was now subconsciously kicking himself. "So back to this application." He finally gave Anastasia said form which listed some general questions, such as her name, age, gender, all of which had been answered. The man pointed to the blank spots. "The location of your birth was missing, as was your marital status and occupation." Harlen tilted his head. "And we need to know if you are bringing any children into the city or are supporting any children else where."

Anastasia quickly started to fill out the appropriate information. No dependents, single, mechanic, and Golvish. It was once an elvish safe haven before it was burned to them ground. "Everything should be in order, is there any additional information I need to provide?" Anastasia didn't like it when she had to talk about her home town. It brought up mixed feelings she attempted to bury on the day she enlisted.

"I do apologise but I'm having a difficult time reading your writing," Harlen coughed into his hand as he spoke, the application held rather close to his face. "This does say no children, single, mechanic and Glo-Gloovisha?" He pronounced the name awfully wrong. "Oh never mind." Apparently uncaring of the sheet, he just casually slipped in into the woman's folder. Harlen turned his attention to the medical assessment form next, his eyebrows raised a little. "I was wondering if you could explain your current medical information to me, it says here that you possess some mechanical parts?"

"my left side was completely obliterated by an IED while my squad was on a foot patrol. Left arm, leg, shoulder, four full ribs and three partial ribs replaced with standard issue titanium alloy replacements." Her facial expression grew cold at the memories of that day. The doc said they could do a skin graft over the arm but Anastasia threatened to take a bayonet to it. She wanted to keep the metallic arm in plain view as a reminder of that day.

"I see," Harlen felt the room turn icy, a tell-tale sign he'd just stepped into unfriendly territory. However he had to push the topic so began to write down what Anastasia had just said, eyes flickering upwards to glance at her every now and again. "I must confess that I don't know a whole lot about these 'conditions' you live with," he coughed nervously and removed his glassing, now playing with them in his hands. "Though I assume they have both benefits and faults, could you possibly list a few?" The woman’s medical form needed to be filled out and if she required further medical treatment she would need to be signed on with a specialist in the city. Harlen’s glasses fell onto the desk as he clumsily fiddled with them, the spectacles rolling a little across the wood but being caught before they could plummet onto the floor.

"They require routine maintenance which I can do myself if I have access to a cybernetics repair shop. benefits, well I have full use of my left side as I did before. Not a significant increase in strength really... A steady platform for rifles. A compartment for concealed weapons.... faults? It's 27% heavier then the actual limb was so the muscles are slightly over developed.... The bruised ego of a imperfect woman? That's all i have really." she lied slightly. The biggest fault was she lead her squad into a hot spot and lost 10 of the 14 people in it. Two bled out in under an hour and the other four were covered in shrapnel and burns. Shortly after the medics patched her up she decided she was not going to re-enlist. Not after being, in her opinion, worse then the enemy.

“Well then, I’d recommend you sign up with one of the hospitals, just in case,” as he muttered, Harlen rummaged amoungst the papers on his desk. “As for a cybernetic repair shop your best bet would be the city centre, that is where most places are.” Finding what he was hunting for he pushed a few flyers and brochures towards her. “These should detail it further, but if you get lost you can ask one of the guards, I think you’ll find a lot of people within this city share similarities with you.” It was true, one didn't need to travel too far into Krung Thep to find a person adorning some sort of robotic limb.

After a few moments of looking through the brochures and pamphlets Anastasia rolled her neck slightly cracking it. "I'll probably do some recon on shops before hitting up the coffin hotel. As for the hospital, it would depend greatly upon if you have a Veteran Affairs hospital. I'm covered through the VA for most of the medical crap I'd have to do." The fact that many people did have cybernetic limbs didn't bother her. It was a common practice to "discard" limbs for ones that worked more efficiently. In reality, it would mean that the vendors in the area would need to have lower prices to compete with the other merchants. That was the theory at least.

Harlen watched the young woman casually read through the brochures, his elbows gently rested on the table and fingers laced together in somewhat of a thoughtful pose. "I see." He wasn't going to attempt to understand what she meant, he was awfully out of the loop with it came to the army and couldn't be sure if they would cover her medical bills here, he'd have to double check later. "Well moving on, do you know where you'll be staying within the city? Do you have family here or perhaps friends?" Harlen had heard her mention staying at a hotel, but she couldn't stay there forever.
