Turan perused the library, thankful that he had kept a few friends in the Academy who could grant him access to the collection of books. He quickly dismissed the notion of being a teacher the last time i tried that.... his thoughts returned painfully to Ketsuri. He sensed, more than heard a comotion in the summons room what are they up to now? he wondered, irratated at the disturbance. He had a particular distaste for those who where reckless with their gifts well so long as no one went an got themselves killed i suppose there's really no sense bothering about it he thought, returning to the book he was reading. Figuring no one was around, he decided to do alittle playing of his own. Extending one of his fingers, lightning circled around it in the form of a snake beats a candle any day he thought.
Abarhi stood in the shadows, his black attire blending perfectly "Master Turan" his voice toneless and silent "You summoned me?"
Turan smiled, Abarhi was his first pupil, and amoung his most loyal friends "You have learned well what i have taught you, but you are not here simply because of that. I need you to keep an eye on Ketsuri, he said somthing about his hunting the girl when she arrives. As you know, that would be a problem. Observe and follow. Stick to the code" Turan replyed, returning to his book.
Abarhi bowed "As you wish"
Turan jumped "Abarhi, see to it that it is somthing trivial and not important" he said tersely"
All the hair stood up on abarhi's neck "yes my lord" he then vanished off, heading towards the Summons room where the scream came from.
Abarhi entered the Library, smiling as he saw Turan seated in the same chair "She is here, master" he said with a slight bow.
Turan looked up, marking his page, though forgetting to put out the lightning swirling around his finger "Welcome"
Roan froze in the door way. This man wasn't what she had been expecting, to start off with he was pretty.
Turan smiled, eyes widening as he saw the lightning dancing on his finger tips like two oriental dragons well that's out of the bag he thought "You need not be frightened" he said softly. Abarhi had by now dissapeared into the shadows.
Ketsuri passed outside the library, hearing voices he paused what now? he stopped when he felt the same dark aura. Seeing the girl staring at somthing off to one side, he smiled.
"I'm not scared, it's just that your really pretty for a guy. And your not allowed to hold that against me later since I'm sure that I'm still in shock. So who are you, and why am I in Tyradias?" Roan said leaning on the door frame, she was to jiled up to sit.
Turan raised an eyebrow at her remark "Fair enough, now in answer to your question, you..."
"You are in Tyradias to make an attempt at fulfilling a prophesy" a cold voice rang out behind her. Ketsuri's eyes shone darkly "Unfortunately for you, you just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time" He brought his blade in a long arc down towards her, only for it to ring out against Turan's sword "You are not welcomed here Ketsuri" Ketsuri's eyes widened "Since when did you master that?" he snarled, leeping back. The whooshing soud followed by a dull an sickening thump filled the room as Abarhi loosed his deadly stars on Ketsuri. Ketsuri vanished, heading off towards the Willow inn an Tavern. For now he had had enough. Turan turned to Roan "I'm sure my apprentice warned you of enemies, you need not worry, most of them are not as bold as he is" he placed a hand on her shoulder "You have questions then i can only assume?" he asked her softly.
Roan tilted her head to look up at him. She had always been short, but weirdly this man made her feel secure rather than scared. However, she was never one to rely on another person, rather she was the pillar of stregth for others. She had to be for her mother. "How about we start with this prophesy, and what part I seem to play to drag me here." She walked away from the man's embrace to sat on the couch, the one next to the fire with a chair across from it.
Turan ressumed his seat by the fire, glancing into the shadows "Make sure Ketsuri does not return" at that a figure detached itself from the shadows an dissappeared down the hall. Turan turned his attention back to Roan "Well i'm not entirely sure if you would believe me, but you play a key role in it Roan. You see, there are a pantheon of gods, meaning there are more than one. They have maintained the overall balance in this realm for as long as i can remember" he paused breifly as his thoughts strayed to when he awoke i still have yet to discover anything prior he recovered "Recently, somtime over the last decade, one of the gods has become caged, by design" He studied her, paying attention to her body language "Since then everything has, as some would say in your world, been shot to hell in a handbasket. You my dear girl, your part in this......well you will uncage the trapped god. It is not as simple as it sounds though, for just as there are those awaiting your arrival to help you, so to are there those who wish you dead"
"It's the phrophesy of the Silver Baron." she whispered, refusing to look at the man. However, turned to face him for her mext question. "Why was he caged in the first place?"Roan asked trying to understand her situation. "Someone must have had a reason for putting him there."
"That i do not know. Yes somone did cage him, and the only reason i can think of is simply to tip the scales in their favor...most likely an individual who wishes to make a bid for the crown of Tyradias" Turan propped his sword up next to him, the blue cutting edge shone slightly.
Roan rubbed her head, causing her to notice the tention and exhaustion in her body. "I think I could use some sleep before we continue this conversation."
"Very well, but not here" Turan said quickly "To many unknown enemies"
"I don't really care were, considering the fact at the moment I'm totlaly helpless."Roan whined.
Turan took her by the hand "I have a friend who owns an inn not far from here, it'll be safe" He smiled at her "No you are not helpless, just dazed" he said walking to the Library door that led outside. His midnight black horse stood, tethered to a pole.
"He's beautiful." Roan said in awe."What's his name and age?" She rubbed the beast. "I use to ride when I was younger."
"His name is Orion, and he's...hmmm..." Turan thought for a moment. Orion eyed him as if saying oh comon you can't be serious? And i have to carry the both of you? "He's twelve years old" Turan shot the horse a glance "And is more attitude than anything else" this produced a snort from Orion. Turan lept into the saddle "Well then, lets ride" he said softly, leaning down to Orion "You behave, carrying rather important cargo here so don't get back at me just yet" he whispered into the horses ear.
Roan fished in her jacket and pulled oput an apple she had been saving for lunch. "Here you go boy." She pet and loved on it till she knew she needed to go. "Well I guess were out of here." She hopped onto the horse, wrapping her arms around the man's waist. I don't even know his name.
"It's Turan" he said softly, before giving Orion a kick, sending the horse into a full gallop towards The Dark seriph inn and Tavern
Roan gasp, she never said that out loud. However, her surprise would be forgotten for they left towards their desination.
