Late Dawn/Early morning
The Sebrellan camp members were crawling out of their tents to set about their duties and relieve the night watch, who wanted nothing more than to get some sleep themselves. The camp was relatively quiet, except for the odd clanking of pots or weapons, or rustling or such. There was no loud commotion, just general shuffling of getting ready for a new day and the overall sense of activity.
Black Ice walked into the camp, her black cloak wrapped about her against the early morning air. She looked about for Jalen or for Lerayel herself.
Jalen paused as he came around a tent. He seemed to have been following his nose. "Ice..." he said quietly and frowned with interest as he walked over to her. "It is good that you came back safely," he told her honestly.
Ice nodded briskly, "Is Lerayel awake?" She asked him.
Jalen shook his head. "Not to my knowledge, no, but I'm sure she'll want to hear from you. Go ahead in." He pointed to a tent somewhere behind him, Lera's tent, then gave Ice a curt not before he continued on to the practice area.
Ice thanked him and continued to Lerayel's tent. She knocked on the support post and waited for her voice.
Too many years rising before dawn had by now made it impossible for Lerayel to sleep in any amount. The fact that she was still asleep as the first beams of sunlight broke over the world was a testament to how tired she was. But by the time Ice returned to the camp, she was awake. She was dressed and preparing herself for the day by the time the knock came at the entrance. "Come in," she called quietly, suspecting she knew who it was.
"Good morning Lerayel," Ice said softly, entering the tent "I have come to make my report if you are ready."
"Good morning, Ice," Lerayel replied with a nod. That was who she expected. "I am ready. Please report."
"I found the Kerrigons' camp, in the forest to the west of us. I was unable to get any information on their leader, however I did speak with one who I am certain is more than just a recruit." Ice relaxed her formal posture, "I was so close, Lerayel, so close to getting him to let me join their ranks. I don't know how I messed that up. But he did ask me to return."
Lera listened, expressionless
, as Ice gave her report. She nodded once as the spy finished. "You've done well. Do not blame yourself; they are not quite as selective as I in choosing their members, but they are close. And they are particularly wary of unknown entities trying to join. They are ever wary of spies." She paused. "Did you get this recruit's name?"
"Of course," Ice replied, "an Elf by the name of Alec." Her voice and face were both matter-of-fact, emotionless, but her eyes held a puzzled look.
Lomien looked intently at christopher "If you are wondering why i asked to speak with you and not one of your underlings it is because i hate dealing with middle men and prefer to deal direct" his voice calm, almost relaxed but not at all informal, though his clothes showed that he was clearly one to stay out of doors for great lenghs of time.
