Artemis Fowl: The Atlantis Complex review

The Atlantis Complex is the 8th of the Artemis Fowl series by Irish Eoin Colfer - if we count the The Artemis Fowl files.
It's yet another story of the boy genius and a criminal mastermind Artemis Fowl II, who has gotten involved with the fairy world.

This time Artemis has invented a way to save the world - literally - from the global warming. But is he really turning good or is there something wrong with him?
Soon Holly Short and the other fairies realise that Artemis suffers from something they call the Atlantis Complex and it starts to change the whole personality of Artemis. And after the fairies are threatened by an old enemy, is there anyone who can save them now?

After the last book (The Time Paradox) this was refreshing to read as the last one had quite convoluted plot - but then again if you're dealing with time travel it usually is. Colfer hasn't lost his wits and sense of humour even though now the ending wasn't as big a surprise as it has been in the first few books of the series.

I still consider Artemis Fowl one of the great child characters I've met and I strongly fear they're never going to find a good enough actor to play him in the possible movie.

(But I might root for Jason Statham for Butler. Even though he should be bigger.)

This book is for all of us who enjoy the adventures of Artemis. For beginners I suggest to start from the beginning.
