Artun the Hammer

There are no official records of the founder of the Empire of Artun, only that he sired twelve sons, the third of which became Artun II. It is rumoured that Artun the Hammer gained his title from a mighty warhammer he used in battle, named “Elfsbane” in modern Arrish. From this information, it is assumed that Artun the Hammer had some dispute with elves from which he emerged victorious. It is also assumed that Artun the Hammer died of natural causes, but as his body was burned upon his death, this is merely conjecture and some historians maintain that the founder of Artun was poisoned in his sleep.
