Description: Target receives -X to all checks where X is the amount of energy used to cast the spell.

Discard
Required Ranks: 70; Energy Cost: 40; Casting Time: 1 action; Duration: 1 minute; Range: 10 lurks; Save: will check vs. Spell’s Power + 10
Description: Target mage chooses a spell on her spell list. For the duration of this spell, that mage can’t cast the chosen spell.

Yawning Darkness
Required Ranks: 70; Energy Cost: 60; Casting Time: 1 action; Duration: 1 minute; Range: 10 lurk radius from point where spell was cast.
Description: Conjure a field of darkness. In that area all checks that rely on light based sight suffer a penalty of Spell’s Power +10.

Greater Dark Vision (Aura)
Required Ranks: 70
Description: Caster gains the ability to see normally in utter darkness and receives a + 20 to observation when doing so. There are no limits to how far the caster can see in darkness other then those that would affect some one normally seeing in the light.

Point Decay
Required Ranks: 75; Energy Cost: 50; Casting Time: 1 action; Range: 10 lurks; Save: fortitude check vs. Spell’s Power + 10
Description: Target limp instantly decays into dust. This spell can not affect vital origins. This spell gives a +10 bonus to sequence when interrupting another's turn.

Vampiric Touch
Required Ranks: 75; Energy Cost: 35; Casting Time: 1 action; Range: touch; Save: fortitude check vs. Spell’s Power + 10
Description: Steal 15 hit points from target and 30 energy from target.

Death Speak
Required Ranks: 75; Energy Cost: 40; Casting Time: 1 minute; Duration: 100 words; Save: will check vs. Spell’s Power + 10
Description: Caster can contacted the soul of a dead being whose remains are present and exchange up to 100 words with them. The soul of the dead is compelled to answer all questions truthfully.

Blood Rite of Mana II
Required Ranks: 80; Energy Cost: 75; Casting Time: 1 minute; Duration: the cup of blood last one week; Range: touch
Description: Target cup of blood is enchanted so that drinking it grants 150 mana and drains 25 hit points.

Blood Rite of Strength II
Required Ranks: 80; Energy Cost: 75; Casting Time: 1 minute; Duration: the cup of blood lasts one week, the strength bonus lasts 6 hours; Range: touch
Description: Target cup of blood is enchanted so that drinking it grants +10/5 Strength and drains 25 hit points.

Vestige
Required Ranks: 80; Energy Cost: 80; Casting Time: 1 minute; Duration: 1 day
Description: This spell creates a vestige of an item worth 200 credits or less. A vestige is unnaturally shadowy, translucent, and disappears when the spell ends but is otherwise like the real thing. Vestiges are lasting spell effects.

Burst of Decay II
Required Ranks: 85; Energy Cost: 40; Casting Time: 1 action; Range: 10 lurks; Save: fortitude check vs. Spell’s Power + 10
Description: Deals 40 damage to target. Undead take double damage.

Death Touch
Required Ranks: 100; Energy Cost: X; Casting Time: 1 action; Range: touch; Save: fortitude check of X
Description: Touched target creature dies.

Death Metal
Required Ranks: 100; Energy Cost: 60; Casting Time: 1 action; Duration: up to 1 minute; Range: 10 lurk radius centered on caster
Description: Fashion the powers of darkness into music. All creatures that hear the music with in range take 15 damage per round. Mindless creatures (that don’t care about music) and heavy metal fans are immune to this effect. The caster must spend on action each round after the first to perform or the spell will end.

Accelerate Decay III
Required Ranks: 110; Energy Cost: 35; Casting Time: 1 round; Range: touch
Description: Target non-living object instantly decays into dust. Stone objects require 30 additional energy to do this otherwise it just looks a bit worn. If this spell is used on an undead creature, that creature takes 100 damage.

Arms of Darkness
Required Ranks: 110; Energy Cost: 100; Casting Time: 1 action; Duration: 10 minutes; Range: caster’s person
Description: From the casters body sprouts two snake like arms, which end in a head, the form of which is the caster’s choosing. The arms do not hinder the caster and can each make one attack per round separate from the caster’s actions. These attacks are with Spell’s Power +10 accuracy, +25 damage and can reach 2L away. The arms are under the control of the caster.

Drain Life
Required Ranks: 110; Energy Cost: 60; Casting Time: 1 action; Range: 20 lurks
Description: Steal {Spell’s Power +10} – {target’s fortitude check} hit points from target living creature. Caster gains these hit points.

Necro Voice
Required Ranks: 120; Energy Cost: 70; Casting Time: 1 minute; Duration: until the conversation ends; Save: will check vs. Spell’s Power + 10
Description: Caster can contact the soul of a dead being whose remains or something strongly related to that person are present or who the caster knew personally and spoke with. The soul of the dead is compelled to answer all questions truthfully.

Rip from Mind
Required Ranks: 120; Energy Cost: 70; Casting Time: 1 action; Range: 10 lurks; Save: will check vs. Spell’s Power + 10
Description: Remove target spell from target mages spell list. In order for the target mage to be able to cast that spell again, she must relearn it (see switching spells on spell lists). When casting this spell, the caster sees what spells are on his target’s spell list.

Fear (Aura)
Required Ranks: 130
Description: So long as this spell is on a mages spell list, in order to attack the mage, creatures that can feel fear must make a will check of Spell’s Power + 30.

Word of Decay
Required Ranks: 150; Energy Cost: 100; Casting Time: 1 action; Range: 10 lurks; Save: fortitude check of Spell’s Power
Description: Target organic creature instantly decays into dust.

Death Chant (Aura)
Required Ranks: 150
Description: So long as this spell is on a mage’s spell list, whenever a living creature dies that gives 50 or more experience when defeated, mage gains 15 hit points.

Arms of Darkness
Required Ranks: 170; Energy Cost: 180; Casting Time: 1 round; Duration: 1 hour; Range: caster’s person
Description: From the casters body sprout four snake like arms, which end in a head, the form of which is the caster’s choosing. The arms do not hinder the caster and can each make one attack per round separate from the caster’s actions. These attacks are with Spell’s Power +20 accuracy, +35 damage and can reach 3L away. The arms are under the control of the caster.

Terror
Required Ranks: 180; Energy Cost: 90; Casting Time: 1 action; Duration: if target survives, 10 minutes; Range: 10 lurks; Save: see below
Description: Target living creature dies (save: fortitude check of Spell’s Power + 10) and must flee the caster if able (save: will check of Spell’s Power + 50).

Excarnate
Required Ranks: 200; Energy Cost: 250; Casting Time: 1 round; Range: caster’s person
Description: Casters body decays to dust. The caster survives in an incorporeal form. This transformation is permanent. In order to return to the physical world the caster must acquire a new body. While incorporeal the caster must keep this spell on her spell list or cease to exist.
