Salek dances in the middle of the room, whirling around and spinnign and catching and throwing her blades in a death waltz. She sheaths her blades and stands idle for a moment, then sighs and leaves.
She stands in the doorway for a moment, then, deciding against it, Salek goes back into the ballroom.
Andrei was watching Salek's curious behavior from the shadows...soli
tude may lead people to insanity...but still he was certain her story was true...the evil prince had caused him enough problems in the past...problems he wouldn't talk about...
"You can't be dancing all alone now...May I join you?" As he says these last words Andrei starts twirling aroung with the grace tipical for most high elves creating different colored balls of light...all the other light dissapear as Andrei continues his dance making more and more lights until the room looked like a fire-fly convention...
Salek watches Andrei for a moment, amused, then enters the fray of light once again, her feet hardly touching the ground as she skims across, never touching the everpresent lights as she passed them, ducking and weaving gracefully, never tripping or falling...
Andrei stops with his eyes closed and hands fully extended... the lights start glowing intensly and start spinning around the elven mage...they slowly creep into his body and Andrei starts to glow strangely and then float...this effect is diminished because so do all the objects in the room...
Salek suddenly screams and falls to her knees, her hands around her ears and pain disfiguring her face. The room glows, and then brightens to blinding light, a high-pitched wirring driving Andrei's feet back onto the floor. Everything stops for a split second in time, then the light fades and the whirring stops and Andrei and Salek are left in the darkened room.
Salek stands to her feet shakily, leaning on the pillar beside her. "I may not have told you, or you have forgotten..the designs here aren't just for decoration...."
Andrei's lips don't move but you hear a voice saying: "Go with it...do not fear the sensation of flight! It alows you to be much more agile and graceful than you could ever be when trudging your feet upon the ground..."
Salek ignores this, continuing. "The runes and designs are there to enhance magickings, to overpower them ten times over...Tis why a mage has not practiced here in over a decade..the last time they did it was tragic."She looks up. "I do not fear flight any more than I fear you. But thank you for considering it." She walks out of the room.
Andrei drops from two feet in the air and all the lights come back on..."I'm sorry to have disturbed you then..." he whispers for him only to hear...
[Mashadar] has found the elf alone this time. He has him now. Mashadar Moves in for the kill.
Andrei has the strange sensation of something... not evil... but not good either... a creature... fearsome, deadly, but not cruel. "William! Get help!" He shouts as he starts glowing intensly, his hands now incandescent grasping his staff...
Maelek wanders back in, peeking his head around the corner curiously. "Hmm? What's this thing doing in here?" He sent a small tendril of flame at Malthazar inquizitively. He flashed, quick as lightning, and ripped out the fellow's throat. (lol...if you don't come back, this is what becomes of you..)
