Batman Movies!

Fun times. Feel free to add your thoughts and opinions like I have

Batman

I haven't successfully sat through this movie. It might have been awesome when it came out, but now, it's just embarrassing. And I can see why they picked Nicklson as The Joker after seeing One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, but I still think his Joker was horrible. -[NOOOPE]

I love this movie 'cause of how it's represented. Batman is looked at in more of a romantic goth look, complete with a dark, gothy Gotham City and the love interest. Keaton may not be a very pretty guy, but I feel he did the role justice. -[Mai Lynn]

Batman Returns

I haven't seen this yet, but I'd be interested to, despite little white-froed Keaton. I wanna see how they handle the catwoman/batman chemistry. I'm totally a Catwoman/Batman shipper. -[NOOOPE]

This movie is defintely a lot better than the first. More character development and while they're all big name actors, they play the characters pretty well. The Penguin, while a sophisticated villian, was beautifully beastilized by Danny DiVito in such a way that it felt like it was still the character. Over all, much darker and more intense than the first. -[Mai Lynn]

Michael Keaton is the worst Batman ever. He has absolutely no sex appeal at all, and that is half the beauty of Batman. Because of this it felt like there was no chemistry between him and Catwoman. All in all this movie was a major FAIL for me. [Crankychangeling]

Batman Forever

I HATE ROBIN! He sucks in the comics, he sucks in the cartoons and HE SUCKS IN THE MOVIES! I saw this along time ago, and I loved Jim, 'cause, well, Jim rules, but I never pictured the Riddler as a spaz and WTF Tommy Lee Jones is TwoFace? WTF? Plus, Val Kilmer's mouth is too perdy to be a Batman mouth. Geez. - [NOOOPE]

No. These actors didn't play the characters. They just threw on costumes and repeated lines. I love Jim Carey, he's funny, but I hate it when he's cast for a role and essnentially just does a bunch of bull shit. I loathe how they killed the Riddler, Batman, Two-Face, and Robin all in the same move. -[Mai Lynn]

Batman and Robin

Hate! Hate! Seething hate. Hate Robin. Hate Batgirl, and normally I like to tolerate her. And she's Alfred's spawn? Why? Uma SUCKED so bad. I loved her in other films but her acting was, can I call that acting? Poor Mr. Freeze... they turned you into Arnold. Will you ever recover? -[NOOOPE]

Double no. While Uma provided a sensual Poison Ivy, just no. Gotham City isn't some kind of rave and Mr. Freeze is NOT Arnold. -[Mai Lynn]

Batman Begins

A BIG step up from the old ones. A lot more serious and less ridiculous. Less white-fros and Robins. Not perfect but closer than ever. Chris isn't Bruce in my eyes, but he plays the part well, and I like him. But I hate Ra's Al Ghul. Like, the character. In every version. Kinda like how I hate Robin, but even more so. And the Scarecrow was pretty. Huh? - [NOOOPE]

GAWD I LOVE THIS. This movie takes a more industrialzed approach to the Batman genre and greatly pulls it off. Christian Bale really felt passionate about the role (even going so far as to hide his Welsh accent in interviews about Batman) and you can really tell as he does a marvelous job of potraying the caped cruasder. And can't go wrong with Liam Neeson. Mmmm. -[Mai Lynn]

The Dark Night

UPDATE: BEST MOVIE EVER! THE JOKER WAS PERFECT I TELL YOU! PEEEEERRRRFEEEEECT! SO GOOD! IT WAS SOOOO GOOD! -[NOOOPE]

O.M.G. I AM IN LOVE. Heath Ledger COMPLETELY steals the film! I loved Christian Bale and Morgan Freeman and Michael Cane and all of the other actors. They all did SUCH a great job, BUT HOMAGAWD. Joker was done SO freakin' well! The exact way a socipathic clown would be! The movie was abso-flippin'-lutely perfectly mainly beacuase of how ridiculously GORGEOUS he was at playing the Joker. ME LOVED. -[Mai Lynn]

I have watched the tailer for this like 100 times. Seriously, I need to see this or my brain will explode. [Crankychangeling]

Batman: Mask of the Phantasm

Weeee! Only cartoon Batman to be on the big screens. This movie isn't super awesome, but to me it is! Bits of the Joker's past revealed?! AND BATMAN'S?! And they can kill people?! AND THEY DO! IT'S FREAKING AWESOME! -[NOOOPE]

This was a GREAT movie and was done really well! It's one of my favorites in the Batman universe because of the darkness of it all. Glee! -[Mai Lynn]

Batman and Mr. Freeze: SubZero

Poor poor Mr. Freeze! Poor poor Mr. Freeze! You aren't a bad guy! The world's just out to get ya and people just don't understand! We love you! And now I'm crying! He's such a tragic character and this movie illustrates that fact real well! -[NOOOPE]

Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker

There is this scene in here that explains what happened to the Joker back in the day... and it's the defining moment of Joker evil... it's it's so twisted and sick and amazing. It's just a punch in the face. A white, clownish punch in the face. The rest of the movie is really cool too, and the animation is so well done, and Batman's all like, grumble grumble, old but awesome, and it RULES! I also like how the cover mimics the cover of The Man Who Laughs, the old silent film with the creep clown character that inspired The Joker in the first place. So very clever! -[NOOOPE]

I love this movie because Terry McGinnis is a great Batman and his relationship with Bruce is fucking fantastic. While I love the series, I don't care for the simplified bodies. But the music and the backgrounds were great, especially the twisted fight between Terry and Joker. DEFINTELY my favorite scene. -[Mai Lynn]

Batman: Gotham Knight

I'm really not a fan of anime... really not a fan. I like western styles 500 times better and I'm actually a little cranky that they are handing Batman over to profit from the fad. I don't like anime. I haven't seen this yet though, so who knows. - [NOOOPE]

I think it's interesting that they're essentially doing what they did with the Matrix, giving it an anime perspective. I think it's good to try and involve the GOOD, hardcore anime into more American audiences (I don't mean the shit that's just as bad at the poorly done American cartoons) but I have to say... I've only seen one of the things and it SUCKED. Bruce Wayne is NOT a girly man and Batman does NOT care about the villians enough to take 'em to the hospital. T_T - [Mai Lynn @ wiki]
