Heat





First Level:

Cook – Heats up foodstuffs to an edible temperature, thoroughly cooking meats etc.

Dehydrate Food - Dries out food to make it last twice as long as normal

Prickly Heat – Causes the target’s clothing to heat up, causing uncomfortableness at first, then blistering on the flesh in contact with the heated clothing

Boil – Used to turn [  ] cubic feet of water or other liquids into steam

Create Steam - Using water vapour in the air, a mage can create steam and control its flow to sting the eyes of enemies, or simply cook food.

Evaporate - Using heat, mages can drive water from most surfaces, including clothing, armour, and soil.


Second Level:

Parch – Dries up [  ] cubic feet of water or other liquids. Area discernable by the caster

Ambient Heat – Raises the ambient temperature in a [  ] foot area by [  ] degrees

Heat Haze - The caster can control the air temperature, distorting the vision of the targets.

Steam Bolt - The caster shoots a bolt of steam vapour at the targets, causing minor damage to their health.

Oppressive Thirst - The caster drives a large portion of moisture from the target's body on touch, leaving them weakened and dehydrated.


Third Level:

Blood Boil - The caster boils the blood of the target on touch, causing major damage and incapacitating them for two turns.

Cold Blood - Caster is impervious to the effects of heat for the duration of the spell.

Heat Aura - The caster emits an aura of heat around his person for 3 feet, burning anyone who comes into contact with it.

Condensed Heat - A pocket of heated air explodes within 1 foot of the target, causing D20 damage.


Fourth Level:

Scorch Flesh - The caster raises the air temperature around their target(s) to unbearable, causing clothing to melt and skin to blister, usually incapacitating the target(s).

Heat Pulse - Caster causes 40 damage within a [  ] foot radius. by rapidly increasing the air temperature.

Heat Metals – Causes the metal item that the caster is touching to become red hot, burning whatever is touching the metal at the time


Fifth Level:

Amaaru - Standing roughly 7 feet high, resembling a basic humanoid shape, though completely asexual, Amaaru appears in place of the summoner in the centre of the battlefield. Amaaru does not move, but pulsates pure heat twice per turn, with attack power of +90 to caster's own attack. Amaaru is present for six turns, and can be destroyed only after recieving +200hp of the caster's own heallth in damage.
Cost: Removes the summoner from battle, and summoner requires 36 hours rest before they can move of their own free will.

Scorched Earth - Caster removes all moisture from the air and earth for a 1 mile radius, creating a massive wasteland within this area.
Historical Note: This was one of the spells used in The Searing of the Orc Lands.
