Bounce Back
I guess you thought it would be cool
To pour salt in my wound,
To jump start my heart
You had no mercy,
No compassion,
None, right from the start.
And I was the boy that falls to hard,
Like a rock from a cliff,
Dropping into the abyss
I watched the ride
With tightly shut eyes.
It felt like suicide.
And I woke up far too late to see
The clouds fly past and
The ground rush up.
And with no parachute
I hit like a brick and
Didn't bounce back.
