Cardcaptor Sakura
At the start of the series, Sakura is a ten-year-old fourth grader at Tomoeda Elementary School. When she opens a book called "The Clow" and releases the magical cards contained therein, she is recruited to become the "Cardcaptor" and retrieve the cards. In return, she gains the right to use the cards' power herself.

Sakura is an extremely energetic and cheerful character. Her "invincible spell" ("I know I'll be all right") carried her through innumerable trials and obstacles as she mastered her magic and herself. Although she often comes across as naïve and even clueless, she is actually very perceptive. When Yukito Tsukishiro (Julian Star in the Cardcaptors dub), the best friend of her brother Toya (Tori Avalon) on whom she had a gigantic crush, admitted he did not love her back, she realized it was Touya that he loved without being told. Sakura tends to see the best in everybody, even apparent enemies. Sakura is followed by her best friend, Tomoyo Daidouji (Madison Taylor).

At the end of the manga, Sakura has firmly settled upon the fact that she is in love with her former rival Syaoran Li (Li Showron). In the anime that is not settled until the second theatrical film.

In the anime Sakura's voice is provided by Sakura Tange.
