CE Brainstorm

Back to Comment Exchange

Alright, I'm setting this up so that we can sort out all the functions the new site will have before I try to launch it. This way, I can get a good to-do-list going on.

Things [HiddenFire] can provide:

Webspace, domain name, web authoring
I'll also set it up so that others can be administrators as well. That way, I'm not as burdened by the CE as I was last time I was head of it.

Features:

Contained exchanges for EW, DA, and a link to the ET chapter here.
Member's list
Articles
Featured art
Featured Members
Contests
Random Member link     (categorized by chapter)
Email subscription    (notification of updates, articles, new members, tours, etc...) All of which is optional.
Forums with multiple categories     (if we build a community, and people network, they will build traffic and comments).
A ton more, feel free to add whatever you want. We can also discuss it in the comments below.

2007-09-26 [Kshatriya Karahatay]: There's nothing else I can think of at the moment. I think this would be a good place to start.  Also, I agree that we would need to go through every gallery and get in touch with them. However, i'm not sure how we would do that initially, other than by perhaps putting a comment in their gallery, which at the moment wouldn't do much as the intranet is down.
On the other hand, while the intranet is down might be a good time to set up the new CE.

2007-09-26 [Kshatriya Karahatay]: HiddenFire said: There has got to be some way to get members more comments. The only problem is that when it comes right down to it, we can't enforce any of this. All we can do is encourage people to comment on member's galleries. It's not like we can offer incentives to comment other than the chance to get more comments on their gallery. It's pretty tough when you think about it.

Kshatriya Karahatay said: I think the closest we could come to it though is have the people who log in the most - the active members - be the first to be found, and have inactive member not show up in the random thing. more on the other page....

2007-09-26 [Kshatriya Karahatay]: ...meaning this page.  Also, and I'm not sure how well this would work, but if people submitted complaints about other members not responding. Ok, now that I think it through what I was going to say isn't a good idea.

2007-09-26 [Kshatriya Karahatay]: You're right about there not being any good way to enforce it, but I believe that if we get it out there where we can send e-mail updates encouraging more people to continue to participate....

2007-09-28 [HiddenFire]: I agree. All we can really do is encourage people to participate. "enforcement" just isn't in the spirit of the traffic exchange concept.
