Amelia sat herself down next to one of the entrances to the Arena, and started reading a large book, she bought exactly for the purpose of keeping herself entertained between fights.

Smiling, Anya walked into the arena, and approached the arena keeper. "Hello there," she greeted the figure behind the massive book.

"Oh, hello." Amelia said, as she startled and only noticed Anya before she was right in front of her - she had been at a very dramatic passage in the book, and couldn't stop reading. "Uhm... welcome to the Ravillan Arena, I'm the referee, Amelia. Can I help you?"

"I would like to test my skills as a first-timer to this arena. Perhaps a cirus maximus with a creature suitable for a level one to solo." Anya responded, eager to get started.

"Sure thing." Amelia said, closing the book, and putting it on her chair. She stood up, and stretched herself a bit. "You want an easy, a moderate, or a hard challenge?"

Maabo entered the arena again. "Hello!" she said loudly, hoping the battle hadn't started there yet. "Uh, I was wondering if I could join you", the tiger said to the hauken.

"Fine by me." Turning back to Amelia, Anya said, "Could you make that a moderate challenge for two level ones?" Again to the feline, she greeted, extending a hand, "I'm Anya."

"Maabo" said the tiger, shooking the girl's hand. She noted Anya had no feathers in her arms, while eyeing the girl with interest. This was probably the first hauken she had ever seen. "Eh, I hope it's no zombies this time", she said to Amelia, remembering the punch that had knocked her out.

"Zombies?" Anya inquired thoughfully. Atleast she'd rather kill a dead thing twice than a living thing once...

Meanwhile, Amelia had walked towards the side of the Arena, and pulled a lever. The hatch in the middle of the Arena was lowered, and came up again, two foul looking rodents standing on it, sniffing the air, and noticing the two warriors within a second! Their large teeth clearly visible, they stared at the two like rabid dogs.

Battle has begun!

Turns and positions are as follows:
Maabo L13
Gaint Rat 19 (5/5) M12
Anya I15
Gaint Rat 9 (*__*) M13

Maabo's turn

"I'll tell you the story later", said Maabo to the winged girl, concentrating now on the rats that the referee had released. She run towards the one on M13 and tried to slash it with her longsword.

Swiftly, the rat Maabo attacked jumped to the side, her sword missing it by several inches, coming down hard on the Arena floor. Immediatly after, the other rat jumped towards Maabo's throat, jaws wide open and ready for the kill!

Maabo screamed as she attempted to block the attack of the filthy rat.

Maabo easily managed to block the attack from the gaint rat, and the critter didn't even manage to bite through her armour.

Anya's turn

Knocking an arrow into her bow Anya was about to attack the rat fighting Maabo, however thinking better of it, she fired at the other rat.

The rat jumped up once more, and the arrow flew under it, hitting the ground and drilling itself into the arena sands. The rat now also flung itself at Maabo, aiming for her leg.

Maabo started to become aware that probably she would be shielding Anya in this fight and getting the attacks. She didn't quite mind that right now, so the once again she tried to shield herself from the rat, hoping her armor would be resistant enough.

Maabo underestimated the rat's ability to target weak spots, and just as wolves always found their way to their target's throat, this rat flawlessy found Maabo's knee, just where her armor had an opening to allow her to bend her knees. The rat's teeth dug in, and dealt 3 damage to the Tiger!

Maabo's turn

Maabo used her chance to get her revenge at the rat that had just hurt her and attacked furiously with her sword.

Maabo gave it all she had, and although the rat tried to jump out of the way, her blade was a lot faster, and she nearly cut the rodent in half, dealing 9 points of damage! At the same time, the second rat tried to go for her throat again!

"Haha! There you go, filthy rat!" said happily Maabo as she finished off the first rat. Quickly then, she tried to block the attack of the second one.

Maabo raised her blade, and used the hilt to knock the relativly light rat away with ease, and it dropped to the floor besides her, on it's feet and unharmed, it's saliva dripping down it's mouth as if it was rabid (which maybe, it was).

Anya's turn

Thankful that Maabo managed to slay one of the beasts, Anya launched another arrow at the remaining rat.

Anya's arrow flew straight for the rat's head, but it ducked just before the arrow got to it, and although the hairs on its back were touched by the arrow, the rat amazingly remained unharmed!
The rat once more tried to bite Maabo!

Maabo tried to block the attack. She hoped the rat would miss, somehow.

Without much effort, Maabo was once again able to fend off the rabid rat with her armor.

Maabo's turn

Maabo was feeling quite powerful now, almost unharmed by the rats. She swung her sword again, attempting to kill the remaining beast.

Maabo swung her blade in a great arc from above her head, downwards behind her back, and then forwards, hacking at the Rat in a great upwards swing, almostl ike hitting it with a golf club. The rat was hit full in the stomach, and two seperate halfs of rat were flung through the arena as Maabo delt it an overwhelming 16 points of damage!

Battle has ended!
Everyone recieves 150 XP!

Maabo danced happily as the battle was over. "That wasn't so hard", she said. "It's good it's over, though", she added, calming down.

"Nice work with a blade," Anya commented with a smile.

Amelia walked over, and said: "Congratulations on your victory. Nice job." Meanwhile, she opened the hatch again, and threw in the dead rats, before closing it. From below the hatch, sounds of ripping flesh and growls could be heard.

"Yeah, well, I don't know how long I'm going to keep it. It was the only thing I could afford to pay", Maabo said about the sword. "I hate being this poor", she added, not paying attention to the creepy sounds coming from wherever Amelia had thrown the rats. "You've got any plans while you're here in the Arena?" she asked Anya.

"I have no plans beyond the Arena... My life is centered around war and battle, so why not remain here where atleast some honor is maintained?" Anya replied, sighing.

Amelia overheard the conversation, and said: "Waiting here for people to show up isn't much for fighting spirit either. There's a bulletin board with quests on it in the colosseum, you should check it out. Some of them promise plenty of war and battle."

"Yeah I should do that", said Maabo. "Not sure what should I pick though, something easy for starters, I guess", she said, mainly talking to herself.

"Thank you, I guess I will do that." Saluting Maabo in farewell, Anya left for the Lemirian Colosseum.

"Aye, well, yeah, me too", said Maabo distractedly and headed back to the Colosseum as well.
