Appearance: Cai is somewhat short and extremely slender, though not from choice. He simply doesn't eat enough. He does have slim muscles, though, from various activities required for running around the streets- and away from guards. He has carrot-orange hair that is an absolute mess and fairly uneven, though not terribly long. It's not as if he can get to a hairdresser, after all. He has sharp facial features, and his eyes are bright and clear, and a strange sort of light brown that isn't quite hazel. The pupils become cat-like in the dark, and he can see very well with them. He also has cat ears that are the typical color for an orange tabby, though no tail and no shapeshifting ability. He wears whatever he can find, stealing something new when he needs it, though that's pretty rare unless something was ripped to shreds or covered in a particularly unmanageable substance. At the moment, his attire is brown, with a loose shirt that hides just how skinny he is and loose brown pants with large pockets perfect for hiding things. He rarely wears shoes, but at the moment has some worn sandals.
Living with Zanera: Still skinny as can be, but healthier looking in general. Also, his clothes have improved a good bit.

Personality: A bit of a joker when he's comfortable, he loves hearing people laugh. However, he knows when to be serious- usually. He acts nervous and flighty around people he doesn't know or when he feels as though he's in danger, and his movements become more cat-like. He's very paranoid, but that was learned from the streets. For the most part, he likes to be a loner, but when he gets the itch to have company, he takes a few risks to make it possible- like going out in public or having a conversation with a shopkeeper he might've stolen from a few weeks back.

Strengths/Weaknesses: He is extraordinarily agile, and fairly quick. he can jump well and uses that to his advantage. He's also very sensitive to touch. His weaknesses are his paranoia, a sense of justice that gets him into trouble sometimes, and his difficulty in truly trusting anyone.

Magic/Weapons: No magic that he knows of (it's always possible, especially in Ensin). As for weapons, he carries an old hunting knife, but he can use pretty much anything he gets his hands on. His preferred method of fighting is to flee, though.

History: Cai grew up, so to speak, in a family with far too many children and a single mother. She was not a particularly attentive mother, and seemed to be constantly having more children. They lived in extreme poverty in a hovel outside of a small village. His mother, and his entire family, were shunned by the villagers because of his mother's loose ways. Cai has absolutely no idea who his father was, though he must've been something interesting because his mother is human. He had minimal schooling and struck out at a young age because he saw absolutely no future where he was. Unfortunately, he found any sort of decent future to be impossible in the strict class system of North Ensin, and reverted to stealing and begging to survive. He was caught by the authorities soon, and spent some time in prison, but he lied about his age so they didn't put him in an orphanage. When he got out a few months later, he traveled, trying to find somewhere where he could make an honest living. It hasn't happened yet, and he came to Karisma a few years later. Along the way he survived through theft, at which he became extremely skilled, conning, begging, and some other extremely unsavory things that you'd have to ask him about (I ain't puttin' it here). At one point he was caught again, in Karisma, and spent a year in a horrible prison that left him scarred mentally and none too great physically. He's now lived on the streets so long he's essentially given up hope of doing anything else. He tries not to think about his lost goals, or else he sinks into a depression that affects his judgement- which can be deadly.
Now that he has found Zanera, however, he lives quite happily with him in a small mountain village. He hopes it'll stay that way.
