Cerebra
Identical to it's former model Cerebro, Cerebra also acts as an extra safe room for the school. It has the ability to amplify a telepaths power a hundred fold as long as they are powerful enough to not allow it overwelm, them
The elevator came to rest inside cerebra and instantly the security proticols went into efect.
del stumbled out of the elevator and warned kurt. "Don't you dare shadowport out of here!"
Kurt reared on her, anguish on his face. "Now there's no one up there to slow him down! We're just fish in a f*cking barrel now!"
"What I meant was don't go up there yourself!"
Delaney yelled. "If something happens we loose our link to Forge and Richards and our last chance to shadowport out of here.
Kurt... KURT! Are you there? Something's happened to Emma. Forges voice sounded urgent inside Kurt's mind.
We know how to stop Nimrod!
Nimrod has eliminated everyone else, Forge. It's just me, Del, Kari, Casey, Daine, and the students. We're in Cerebra. If you know how to stop him you better talk fast. Kurt told him through telepathy. He turned to Del. "Forge says they figured it out."
After porting into Cerebra,
Daine sat up on her blood mercury mount. The blood in her face was returning, slowly, as she gained back her strength little by little. It would still take her weeks if not months to regain the energy that had been drained from her to its full extent. "How do we defeat it?" she asked, raising her voice unintentionall
y. Just like everyone else, she was eager for this ordeal to come to an end.
Casey's outward demeanor had calmed a bit out of sheer necessity, what with being in such close quarters with people. She was still sharp at parts, but more carefully so. She waited and listened, as the blood mercury swirled around her, concealing some parts and revealing others.
Kari bolted out of the elevator and onto her knees. It was as if she was in her own little world. Her egg cracked more and pieces fell off. Her hands were shaking slightly as she put them into the egg. Tears flower down her face as she brought out not one, but two fatherless babies. Kari wanted to smile at their beautiful faces, but she couldn't. The fact that she had to raise them alone, without Jayn, simply was ripping her insides apart. They were two little twin boys with elven-like ears, peach skin, and green eyes. They had their mother's royal marking on their opposite arms. With a sniff, she whispered to the one in her left arm, "Jayden." and then to the other,
"Jaden." The names sounded exactly alike and similar to Jayn's, just how she wanted.
Arthur knelt beside Morgan, gently laying an arm on her forehead "god dammit, it can even get her. Running wont stop this thing..."
Mort stood behind Kari as the eggs hatched, watching as she wept over them. He stared sadly at Kari, then down at the children "That bucket of bolts is going to pay..."
Morgan's eyes started to flinch before they got wide. "AHHHH!!!!" she gripped the thigh of her right leg. Her ankle was completely mangled and the wings were bent in akward positions.
Arthur flinced back from her, his arm retreating like a gun shot as she started to scream.
"Morgan, Morgan." Joss soothed holding her op "It'll be ok. Don't try to move.
Delaney looked on towards Kari as she held the twins in her arms and worried wether or not her own baby would be ok after that smack to the wall.
Forge spoke quickly to Kurt via the telepathic link Emma had initiated. You can stop Nimrod by shocking his central proscessor. An electric shock will basicaly fry all of Nimrod's corcuits... but he'll explode violently. The central proscessor is inside the chest cavity directly behind the emblem on his chest. Nimrod's circuits will heal any breach of his outer hull almost instantly so once you get him open you have to hold him open to achieve enough time to shock his system.
Morgan grit her teeth in agony. Her ankle was already turning purple. The sight of her foot made her sick. She looked to Joss, "I'm screwed, aren't I?!" she didn't mean to shout, but the pain wouldn't let her not.
"No your not." joss reassured as the ever optomist. "Mr. Forge and Richards have aparently found way to beat this thing. Your foot has bones like anyone elses. Hey... with your high metabolizm it'll probably be healed in no time.'
"Not a good thing! Not a good thing! It'll heal this way!" Morgan pointed to her foot's misshapen figure. "It needs to be in the right position!" Tears from her pain trickled out of her eyes.
"I..." Joss hesitated "I set my cousin's leg one time... we've got medical kits in our suits..."
She grabbed Joss's arm firmly, "You sure?" Morgan asked in a very serious tone.
"I'm sure I could do it but it's up to you..." Joss said "It cant hurt any more than it already does right?"
"It'll be better that way." Morgan took a deep breath and closed her eyes, "Do it."
"OK um..." Joss began searching for something in his belt so she could bite down on it. He found some sort of black thing that was about six inches long and round. "I have no idea what this is but bite down on it." he handed it to her and sat next to her. He rested one leg over both of hers and basicaly sat on her to keep her still. "You ready?" he placed both hands on ether side of her ankel gently.
Morgan winced when he placed his hands on her foot. She bit down on whatever it was that he handed to her. She grabbed onto one of his thighs and closed her eyes tightly.
"Ok..." Joss said "On the count of five. Ready? One... two... THREE!" On three Joss violently jerked Morgan's foot around to the proper direction and quickly readjusted her wings as well."
There were three distinct cracks from her ankle and two from each wing. Morgan screamed loud enough for the whole building to hear even though it was muffled a little. Her grip on his leg tightened dramatically. Finally her hand let go and she let herself fall flat on the ground, seemingly lifeless.
Joss took her imobility s a sign to st9nt her leg while he had the chance. He removed the medical kit from his bag, placed the stint in place and carefuly wrapped it up. He sat to teh side, deciding that nowe was a good time to wait considering the two of them had monopolized the wiki for the time being.
"We have to open Nimrod's chest cavity, but he'll regenerate from any wound almost faster than we can inflict them. So once we slice him open, he'll have to be held that way. "Casey, can your blood mercury hold him open? My shadow sword can definately slice through his armor, I've already done it once." Kurt told them all, "We need to fry his central processing unit, but as far as I know we haven't gotten any electrical mutants, do we?"
"I'll eat whatever tries to grow back," Casey replied coldly, razorblades resurfacing from the blood mercury. "Video game girl should have something that can help."
Kurt looked over at Crys, "Is that true? Do you have something that we can use to fry his central processor?"
Crys thought quickly and nodded. "It's a bit corny I guess, but I did use the game twice to save you from Danger, Mr. Smith. In my Pokemon game I've caught a couple of electric types. I'm sure I've got one with enough kick to blow that processor."
"Or we could just jam me in there..." MOrt said, staring at the ceiling "Electricity runs threw me like... well lightning."
"You needn't bother try to destroy yourself again." Casey flicked a droplet of blood mercury to where Mort could see it. "If she misses, I'll take the brunt of it, make sure it gets through." The liquid iron flexed and strained before returning to its master. "Don't worry, I'm sure another opportunity will arise soon enough," she muttered to him, before looking at Crys. "Please try not to miss."
"I know just who to use." Crys said, giving her a reassuring smile and a thumbs up. "Never failed me before."
If the first bolts misses, I'll jump in and stick myself into the bot... I'll be like a giant conductor. Mort thought, staring at the ceiling which was starting to to shake.
Im just gonna get in the way... I know it Arthur thought, holding Morgan's hand as she lay there.
Morgan grumbled and winced as she lay on the cold steel floor. "I hate irony..."
Delaney pulled Kurt to the side quietly. "I saw what your swords did to him, it was barely a scratch. What if we did that thing a few years back? We maintain a telepathic link at all times. Bring my consciousness into your mind, let me help you focus your shadows. There was nothing left of MasterMold when we finished with him."
"My swords do more damage when I condense them and you know that. I had them at just about full length, Del." Kurt told her sternly. He remembered full well the damage they did to Master Mold, but he also remembered that he had trouble letting her consciousness return to her body when they were finished. He didn't want to risk that again, let alone if he should die while their minds were merged, then she would die as well...
"What about them?" Casey gestured at the newborns. She had to admit, the egg thing was wierd, although it did get rid of the awkwardness of live birth. In any case, she didn't want to have babies in the way of whatever damage they might wreak on the giant robot.
Arthru looked around at the babies and got up slowly, sure that Morgan wouldn't miss him being gone. "I'll help look after them..." he said gently.
"Thank you." Kari said, wrapping the twins in a blanket that she had formed. The babies didn't cry at all since the birth wasn't live. They simply started to coo and fall asleep right away. Her eyes started to water when she looked at them, knowing that if they were born a little sooner, Jayn would've at least gotten to see them once.
"Kurt no." Del told him looking at him sternly "You need help and you know it. Let me. It'll only be seconds."
(ooc: you butt face let her do it!)
(ooc: lol but why??? lol)
Kurt gritted his teeth, but in the end he caved in. "Alright..."
Arthur stood beside Kari, gently laying a hand on her shoulder "Dont worry... you'll see him again..." he mumbled.
Kari's head whipped around, "What?! What are you talking about?! He's dead!"
Arthur flinched madly "Th-this things way too high tech..." he mumbled "Even though I saw it for a second I could regocnise it's not even from this era. If... if it can time travel and we stop it... we could use the time travel thing ourselves..."
Outside the door to cerebra began to glow slightly red. It was aparent that NImrod was cutting his way into the room.
"Alright, he's almost in." Delaney said making her way to the center of the group. "If I help Kurt can use a shadow to cut threw Nimrod's armor. Casey you have to be ready to hold him open. Crystal, you have to have.... whatever your going to do ready. ... Kurt, maybe you should put Kari in the cache. She can't get hurt there and the twins will be safe. The rest of you get Morgan to the bottom and do whatever you can to stay out of sight. Understand?"
Kari stepped forward, "Del?" She brought her over to the side. "I think that it would be best for you to go in Kurt's shadow cache with my sons. Otherwise it won't just be your life at risk....it will also be your child's and I won't be able to live with myself if you don't make it out of this alive."
Kurt froze slightly when Kari mentioned the child. He knew, the moment that Del was hit, what had happened. But he didn't have the heart to tell her, if she didn't already know...
Crys nodded. "Got it. It'll just take me a second." She looked at Arthur and smiled. "Ready to watch me in action Artie?" She whipped out her gameboy and fired up the Pokemon game. It really was quite corny, but this game had worked int he fighta gainst Danger. It brought Kurt back fromt he dead twice. She scrolled through the menu until she found exactly what she was looking for and then pulled a Pokeball out of the game. "Ready."
Arthur nodded and smiled nervously "Knock 'em dead crys..." he said, the ceiling making ominous creaking noises.
Casey silently submerged in the black liquid, vanishing from sight entirely. Even the blood mercury under Daine faded away into her form, setting Daine gently on the floor with what she hoped was an understanding and regretful pat on the knee. She shifted into what looked like organic pistons, pillars of black steel forming solidly. She looked like some kind of mechanical insect now, all organic and mechanical structures. She crouched, wrapping herself in tight coils with which to spring at Nimrod with blinding speed when the time came.
Morgan leaned forwards and slipped her good foot under her butt in a somewhat crouching position. She brought herself to stand on one foot through a series of winces and grunts. "Doesn't someone have like...a power or something for this?" She gripped onto Joss's shoulder for support and balance.
<ooc: Ruin it for everyoe sod geeze lol)
"I can't help Kurt from inside the cash." Delaney, said "Besides, my healing factor will protect me and the baby." She smoked nd looked on the twins. It was hard to be excited about the future birth of her own child at a time like this but she managed. "Kurt, do your thing."
Kari hugged Del, it was her way of saying 'good luck'. She got a better handle on her twins and stepped back.
"I love being not answered." Morgan rolled her eyes.
"Oh," Joss said "I don't think so." He counted the heads "Yeah... no."
"I can."Kari said, leaving Del. She knelt down and held the twins with one arm as the other hovered over her foot. A cast-like wrap formed around her bruised ankle.
Morgan winced a little, "Joss? You sure you set this thing right?"
"Pretty sure." Joss said "Once we can get into the hospital again tehy can knock you out and fix it."
Morgan didn't look as confident as she usually is, "Joss....I'm getting pretty worried..."
"It'll be ok." joss assured "Have faith." He gave her a dazing smile. His eyes holding no worry what so ever.
Morgan was taken in by his confidence and smiled gently back up at him. She was already leaning on him, but turned into it more. With both arms wrapped around him from the side, as if she were hugging him, Morgan rested her head on his chest and closed her eyes.
Joss smiled and wrapped his arms aeround her for support, but still as if he wqs hugging her.
Kurt nodded and waited until Kari was finished with Morgan's ankle before opening his shadow cache. "Kari, if you're ready."
Kari nodded and looked down at her cooing twins. "You two be careful....and please try to stay alive." she told to Kurt and Del before nodding that she was ready.
"Don't worry, Kari." Kurt said, giving her a somewhat cheerful smile. She was placing her life and her sons' lives in his hands, quite literally too.
"I have to." Kari explained, still waiting, "It's a thing of mine."
Del smiled at Kari "We'll be fine." She said "Besides, if something dosent work Kurt can take us to the Baxter building in seconds."
The door to cerebra began to gradualy melt behind Nimrod's lasers.
"Balls to the walls people!" Del shouted and shouldered her rifel. If she could get a few long range shots off maybe it was worth it..
Kurt gave Kari one last reassuring smile before placing her into his shadow cache and sealing it shut. He cracked his neck and then his knuckles. He looked at the red glowing doors and took a deep breath. "Everyone ready? If we can do this quickly then we'll have nothing really to worry about." He reached out to Del with his mind, Ready, beautiful?
Mort gulped and hugged Amy tight against him, if something was going to happen he wanted to be with her.
Looking round at Mort and Amy, Arthur shivered slightly and looked back at Crys. No... she didn't need him as a distraction right now.
Crys caught Arthur looking at her and felt herself blush. "Arthur...Watch my back ok?"
I usually do Arthur thought as he brought himself up to his full height, holding his arms as if ready to box and a million brown tentacles doing the same.
A smile crossed Crys' lips and she moved a few steps closer to him. "You like Pokemon, right?" She whispered to him with a grin, holding up the pokeball.
Arthur smiled gently at her "Pikachu I choose you?" he said, not resisting a laugh.
Crys suppresssed a gigle and shook her head. "I had someone else in mind. Someone a bit more powerful. Ever see Raikou in action? The Legendary dog pokemon of thunder."
Arthur smiled at her gently "Just thought he might be a bit powerful to keep out for long. One massive jolt might be enough though..."
Amy's skin faded away fully now. Her body had absorbed all the liquid she had taken earlier and she was back to her fully acid state once more.
Morgan used her good foot and shuffled backwards a little in fear. She had never felt so vulnerable like this before. Her grasp on Joss's shoulder tightened. "Good luck, Bat. I'm useless....just prop me in a corner or something. I can still use my arms to move or blow things away."
Mort whimpered and picked Amy up slightly as the clothes he made dissolved. He had to make sure she didn't go threw the floor. "Atleast you wont be hurt..." he whispered in her ear.
Amy shrugged when he whispered in her ear. The room was made from flux, so she was fine in there.
(ooc: I'll have nimrod attack tomorrow night when i think I can be online all ngith with ya'll)

"All I have to do is one shot." Crys told him assuringly
"Looks like your gonna get it." Joss said pointing to the large steel door tht hd slowly begun to melt.
Morgan hobbled a little on her good leg. She held her hand out in a ready position.
Del smiled at kurt and nodded "Let's do it."
Kurt nodded toward her, wrapping her mind into the folds of his own. He focused and brought her forth. He saw her in his mind's eye and smiled fondly. He could feel her overwhelming calm and balance envelope him
Cerebra's doors finaly melted enough to allow Nimrod entery. He hovered forward and began trgeting his objectives.
delaney raised her bolt action rifel and fired all five rounds into Nimrod's face with rapid suscession. She began reloading. She knew when Kurt focused his shadows she would feel it as if it where her own power.
Crys looked at Arthur again. "Stay close, ok? I need you and Locks to back me up if this starts to go bad..." She said, not entirely confident in her ability to control a real life Raikou. He wasn't the most powerful Pokemon she had, but he was one of her highest levels and that always seemed difficult before.
Kurt focused all the shadows around him and all the ones he had gathered earlier and created a shadow-katana. He gripped it tightly and held it at the ready. He would strike when Nimrod moved closer. He was pretty sure he'd only get to take the one shot at this guy before he was blasted away and he was damn sure going to make it count.
Morgan attempted to put weight on her ankle, but she grunted and winced away. Although her body healed a bit quicker then a normal human's, clearly she wasn't ready to walk on it yet.
Arthur nodded slowly at Crys "Im here... though I wouldn't be very helpful in this situation..." Locks seemed more confident, he bunched up a few tentacles and waved it at the massive robot standing in the melted doorway.
Nimrod moved closer, targeting his blaster toward's Kurt, sensing his power swelling. The beam began to glow.
Delaney emptied the secont set of shell into nimrod's face again. Throw it She told kurt telepathicaly Don't use the katana, it's too close. He could hit you. Her thoughts where only of his safety and teh tudents around them. She'd rather him throw a shadow at Nimrod instead of charging him. So far all his attacks have been at a distance. I don;t know if he'll get close enough.
They all get close eventually. Kurt reminded her. He shook his head lightly. He wasn't really fond of throwing his shadows like she was intending for him to do. There just wasn't enough control on them for his liking, that's why he always used them to manifest physical weaponry.
Mort was standing there, his eyes going from Kurt to Nimrod and back again. He couldn't just stand here, but he had to time it right otherwise the robot could just retarget again.
"Whenever your ready," Casey rumbled, looking at Kurt. She was poised to jump, all her mechanics revved and ready.
"Kurt..." Delaney said slowly. She was growing confused. Nimrod wasn't attacking.
Kurt brought the katana down slowly, looking at the robot. He understood the distress in his wife's voice. Something defineately wasn't right. This sentinel, if you could even call it that really, just tore through all the defenses and other teachers in mere minutes and now it wasn't even moving when the last of them were basically fish in a barrel. He didn't like it one bit. "Well? Isn't this the time when you give an ultimatium or you just start shooting at us? That's the usual tradition in these situations. We're sitting ducks afterall." He told Nimrod with a raised eyebrow. He had begun to rewarp the density of the katana, pulling the shadows apart somewhat, but retaining it's physical appearance as much as possible. He'd keep it attached to himself so that he didn't just lose it once he threw it. He really did not want to have only one shot on this bastard.
Nimrod's response was as computed and clinical as all other verbilizations as earlier. "NANITES GIVEN PROPER TIME TO REINFORCE OUTER EXTERIOR....YOUR LACK TO PROVIDE PROPER OFFENSE HAS FORTIFIED MY SHIELDS AND ENSURED MY OBJECTIVE'S COMPLETION."
"Lack of... " Del repeated "Sonofa!" She fired off another five rounds into Nmrod's face.
Kurt grinned. Good thing we had that little change of plans, eh? He asked his wife. He cracked his neck. "So you're the strong and silent type, eh? I really hate those." With that he flung the shadow forward, the katana's blade quickly just stretching straight toward Nimrod's chest. It was far worse than the simple katana he was weilding moments ago.
Asessing the shadow as it was sent hurling towardxs him Nimrod did nt atempt to block ordivert course. The shadow hit solid in the center of his chest. He was sent reeling backward in midflight. He adjusted his course and stood before the mutants, a fine line across his chest where the shadow did little good.
"What I wouldn't do for you to have a human brain under all that metal..." Kurt mumbled as he pulled the shadow back ont he chain that had formed along his arm. He arced it up over his head and slashed downward again
Delaney t5ried adding her focus and mental strength into the second shadow blow.
Nimrod dodged effectivly and charged an energy blast. He sent it hurling toward Delaney and Kurt.
A high piched cherp echoed threw the room sending the blast back on Nimrod. Joss was standing only feet away from Morgan breathing heavily.
Nimrod reeled backward from the force of his own blast.
Just then, Amy slid in front of the group and looked up at the robot. Her hands went behind her and lashed up at him like acidic whips. Acid was flung off her arms and at his exterior.
There was a small clanging sound as Mort forced his own skull into Nimrod's gun. He plugged the barrel, basically making it useless as his body climbed onto his shoulder and began to beat Nimrod's head.
Nimrod shook his gun franticaly qwith Mort attatched. Discharging the firearm with the child's head inside would cause too much damage when the beam backfired under such strain. The acid however ate directly into Nimrod's chestplate. "INTERNAL HULL BREACHED, REDIRECT NANITES TO REPAIR BREACH, URGENCY MAXIMUM" the robot retorted. The gaping wound revealing Nimrod's central proscessor began to slowly reknit it's self. However the acid was weorking nearly if not as fast as the nanites healing abilities.
"CASEY NOW!" Del shouted and grabbed Crys none too gently by the upper arm "get ready." She hissed urgently in her ear.
"Ow..." Crys whimpered as Del grabbed her arm roughly. "I am ready! If I let this lose before I have my shot, I won't be able to guaruntee the effectiveness..."
Casey hardly needed any provocation. A huge, metal monster, she leapt onto Nimrod's chest and coated the opening. Wherever metal touched blood mercury, things like buzzsaws formed and destroyed what tried to grow back. She left an opening in the middle for Crys to fire through. She suddenly realized, hey, he's made of metal, so am I. I am going to get shocked.
Mort had forced his head in deeply into the barrel though, unable to get loose unless Nimrod removed it with his other hand. "Wont you shut up!" Mort yelled as his body climbed around and began to jam his bones into Nimrod's eyes in an attempt to blind him.
Morgan's bones were already starting to calcify, yet the pain was still there. She hobbled back a little, "All I need now is some popcorn.."
"You can do it..." Arthur whispered in Crys' ear, holding her hand gently "Comeon, you know you can."
Crys squeezed Arthur's hand gently. "Might want to stand back abit. I've never summoned Raikou before. I dunno how big he'll actually be." She swallowed hard and expanded the Pokeball. She looked at it and nodded. "Come on out, Roaring Thunder!" She called out and threw the Pokeball. Roaring Thunder was the nickname she had given her legendary dog Pokemon, Raikou. In a flash of lightning and a crack of thunder, Raikou appeared with a tremendous roar. "Quick, use Thunder now!" Raikou roared and the air ignited with lightning as an enormous bolt of electricity soared from the beast and struck Nimrod directly int he gaping hole caused by both Amy and Casey
Nimrod's body coarsed with electricity. His cuircuitry fried, his body made some horrid squalling sound akin to a fax being sent. Due to the metalic connection between Nimrod and Casey the electricy traveled over her own body, no doubt causing her to be electricuted also.
Casey couldn't scream. She could hardly even react. Where blood mercury and robot met, sparks flew. Parts of Nimrod began to melt and fuse with parts of her. Bright blue electricity arced and shot off of her body, flicking at the air. All she could comprehend was energy and light and movement.
The electric shock ran threw Nimrod like... well an electric shock. It coarsed up threw Mort, his metal bones not only conducting but increasing the power as he managed to drive his finger into Nimrod's very brain. His skull blazed as shocks whizzed around inside it, the electricity flashing up and down between his ribs flowing right into Nimrod's brain.
"CRYS STOP!" delaney shouted "That's enough, your hurting them! Kurt do something! prt them out of there!"
"Return!" Crys called, bringing Roaring Thunder back inside of his Pokeball. She fell forward as the strain coursed through her. She hit the ground hard, bumping her head at the end.
Kurt rushed forward, bringing the shadow around again and grabbing Casey around the waist, he tried to grab a hold of Mort but there was too much light for his shadows to move through. He yanked Casey away, giving up on Mort, the boy was invicible, wasn't he?
Casey broke off in chunks, falling away limp from the robot. Her blood mercury dripped down behind her, some parts glowing dully as it broke away.
Mort could only see up, his skull lodged in a way that he could see what his body was doing but nothing else. Pulling back the finger that he had driven into Nimrod's eye, he drove his fist in instead. He hoped to literally lobotmise the robot before it got the chance to recover.
The sound coming from Nimrod became a harsh squeel of electronic sounds. His body jerke violently, trying to repain airborn. With Mort still lodged in the cannon he too flopped around in Nimrod's grasp. Sudenly the robot grew still. Hovering for a moment in the air "CANNON BLOCKED, EXTERNAL AND INTERNAL DAMAGE REDIRECT... pOWER... ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZHHzZZNJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJ." The robot gerw quiet once more.
"Oh shit." delaney said and realizing what was about to happen she rushed forward to Kurt. She tackeled him to the ground, covering his face with the panels of her coat. "FIRE IN THE HOLE!" She screamed.
Joss threw his arms around morgan and tossed the both of them in the corner. He held her head down and covered her with his wings.
The students (who where not on at the time) all ran to shield themselves from the impending blast. Kurt was not able to teleport them but he managed a few last second shields to protect the kids.
An intense ultraviolet light filled the room and the fax machiene sound returned louder and more demonic than ever. The sound was deafening, a scream eminating from a dying machiene. Finaly the thing exploded. Chunks of frying circuitry flew threw the air, imbedding themselves into the walls of cerebra. Mort was thrown like a cannonball into the far wall. Shadows where weakened by the blast but remained strong enough to prevent ny flying shrapnel from penetrating the bodies of the students. It ended as quickly as it had started and the last remaining chunks of nimrod fell to the floor, still bizzing and whirling trying to remain aloft inorder to complete their objective. All was quite in Cerebra once more.
Del looked up from her poition protecting Kurt. Everything was clear and his shadows where flickering. She pulled back her coat. "Are you ok?" She directed her question t him then to the students "IS EVERYONE OK?"
Joss looked up slowly. Pieces of robot tinkeled to the ground s he rusteled his wings. He looked on Morgan "I'm fine." He shouted and then looked to her "Are you ok?" He moved a piece of her hair away from her face.
Arthur had pulled Crys into an almost death grip against him when Nimrod spiraled out of control, Locks balooned out around them to create a large hard sheild. "Im ok..." he muttered as Del called out, Locks shifted slightly and dropped a few pieces of metal.
Blood mercury stood over Casey protectively. Its many teeth shredded away at the robot pieces embedded in its hide, and they crumbled away as fine dust. Electricity still coursed through its shapeless mammalian form as it bent over her body, pressing two tendrils against her chest. Electricity shot through her, restarting her heart. She coughed and gasped for air, and the blood mercury shaped around her again, picking her up and moving her to the others.
Amy shouted, "I'm fine." and walked around, trying to collect parts of her acid that spat out from her body. Luckily it didn't fall onto anyone.
Morgan looked up at Joss, his beating heart, close to her ear. "I-umm..." she paused grinned sheepishly, "Thanks." Morgan placed her hands on his warm, furry chest and embraced him.
Joss hugged her in return and lifted her into his arms. He carried her back to the group.
The smoke cleared slightly and showed Mort slumped against the opposite wall. It wasn't so much a slump really, more like a pile, but he was still there. "Dizzy..." he groaned.
Amy gathered herself and leaned over the pile of Mort on the floor, "Nice job, bone-head." she said in a friendly tone.
"I wish I had a stomach so I could throw up..." Mort said, the pin pricks of light that were his eyes spinning in opposite directions.
Amy couldn't help but chuckle a bit at him.
Crys laid lifeless in Locks' protective grip
Kurt looked up at Del, half of his face was charred nearly beyond recognition. "Whatta think? Lookin like a Sam Rami production again?" He grimaced slightly as he tried to move, his left arm was charred and cracking painfully as he attempted to move. "Wish you were taller babe..."
"C-crys?" Arthur whsipered to her, Locks letting her go into Arthur's arms "Crys?!?" He put his ear to her chest and his hand infront of her mouth, trying to see if she was breathing.
"Awe honey... I'm sorry. " Del said looking on him. She wasnt so worried, he had nearly as fast healing as she did when in shadows. "Here." She said and took off her coat. She draped if over his face and arm. In a matter of seconds he should be completely healed by the lack of light beneath.
Kurt cracked his neck and pulled the coat away as the last of his skin knitted back together properly. "This is getting a bit old, Del...why do I always end up smelling like a summer barbeque?"
Mort was humming "Your leg bone's connected to your knee bone" to himself as he started to put himself back together, feeling a bit too drained to just pull himself back together.
Silently, Amy assisted with Mort's reconstruction by carefully putting the ribs back together.
"YOur just lucky that way hon." Del Told him and helped him to stand. "Everyone is ok right?"" She asked "Joss, you should get Morgan to the hospital wing. We'll sed Hank down as soon s we dind him." Depite what she'd heared earlier she had confidance to believe that the others where probably the worse for ware but alive at the least. "Can you port us out of here?" She asked Kurt. "The entrance hall if you can manage."
There was a pull on del's arm that almost took it off, Locks was wrapped around her wrist tightly. "I think something's wrong with Crys" Arthur called out desperatley, still holding Crys' limp form close.
Del Stumbeled backwads as Locks grabbed her. She turned aorund quickly and saw Crys lifeless in arthur's grip.-"Ohmygod." She aid rushing to them "Crys! Crys!?"
Arthur was holding her close and trying to resusitate her, Locks pumping at her chest hard and Arthur breathing into her mouth.
"Give her here!" Del said urgently and basicaly pulled Crys from Arthur. She laid her flat and tilted her head back. She pout her ear to her mouth, she couldn;t feel her breathing. She checked her pulse. Nothing there ether. She checked inside her bouth and pushed her tongue flat to be sure it wasnt in the way. She breathed twice into Cry's mouth and pumped five times on Crys' chest. She repeated the breathing muttering "Come on." As she continued the five pumps. She maintained the proscess muttering to herself.
"I can defillibrate," Casey croaked, somehow containing the electricity coursing through her. She approached Delaney on spidery black legs, black mercury filling her palms. "Restart her heart."
"How?" Morgan asked, still holding fast to Joss.
"I..don't know," Casey admitted, blue arcs of electricity sparking from her palms. "I can control it now. I couldn't before."
"Do it." Del said. She all but stood and pushed Casey toward Crys. She didn;t touch her for fear of shocking herelf and harming the baby again. "At least try it."
Kurt walked over to Arthur, resting a hand on his shoulder. "Come on kid. I'm gonna take you out first alright?" He kneeled down beside him, "You don't need to watch this."
Arthur stares down at Crys in fear "I... Im not good for anything am I?" he asked gently "I couldn't even protect her..."
Casey loomed over Crys and pressed her palms onto her chest. She sent a surge of electricity through her body, unsure as to how much is required to restart a human heart. Crys's body thumped against the floor as she drew back her hands. Nothing. The blood mercury receded from her arms and she pumped her chest steadily, letting the blood mercury come back and shock her once again. Still nothing. She looked at Del with a grim expression and a desire for instruction.
"What are you talkin about Arthur? You shielded her from Nimrod's explosion." Kurt told him, grasping him lightly. "Come on. I'm getting you out of here kid." With that he phased them through a shadow and up to the main entrance hall
Arthur held out his hand to Crys as Kurt pulled him threw the shadow, as if trying to grasp a few more moments of being with her.
Daine watched everything unfold silently, unable to do much more than that after Nimrod had drained her close to death. After Kurt had taken Arthur out of cerebra, she stared at Crys before closing her eyes; she knew how it felt losing someone.
del hung her head as Casey shook hers. She delicatly removed Cry's cacket and draped it over her face ad shoulders. She called out to Kurt, not mothering to just think what she wanted to say for their telepthic link "Kurt, bring us up and let Kari out of the shaodw cash."
A moment passed and a setries of shadows apeared around each of the students. Joss helped Morgan up and walked threw the shadow nearest to them, Del, Casey ad the rest of the students did the same.
