Elliot’s Point of View (POV)
I dazed as I looked out of the window, ignoring the chatter going on around me, but I felt all alone. I leaned back in the seat, wrapping my arms around myself. I saw that Peirce was looking at me from the corner of his eye. When he saw that I caught him, he decided to go with the direct approach, he never was able to be very sneaky.
“If you don’t want Riley to worry so much you better pull yourself together. Usually you don’t have a problem doing so.”
“I am perfectly fine, so leave me the hell alone.”
“Elliot, we both know that you are no were near fine. You all ready
hate me so I am going to say something that’s going to piss you off.”
“Never stopped you before.”
“True, but I have never been cruel.” I glared at him. “ Max is a hypocrite that can’t make up his own mind.” I suddenly stood erect. “What you didn’t think I wouldn’t have notice that he is in love with Riley, please. I am not going to lie to you, but you either need to finally confront Max or tell Riley because this is going to eat you up. When Alex died everything went to hell, even you and Max.” I was so absorbed that I didn’t even notice the car went quiet, but Peirce didn’t seem to care.
“You knew.” It was a fact, not a question.
“That Max walked out on you, oh ya I knew. The sad part is that he didn’t do it because he was in love with Riley, he dealt with that a long time ago, but no he walked out because of fear. And he thinks that makes us have something I common, it doesn’t..”
“What right do you have to say that? You walked out on her when she needed you the most.”
“No, I walked when I knew that if I stayed I would have caused more damage.” I was shocked.
“What?” I saw his hand tighten on the wheel.
“She never told you about the agreement we had when I left did she?”
“No, she didn’t.”
“She needs to. However, my point is that from experience holding things in will eat you up form the inside, and you have let the hurt with the situation with Max get to a point were the pressure bottle you have is about to blow. He hurt you, and to be honest I am sure you hurt him too, but don’t let it consume you because then you worry Riley, who you have been trying to keep in the dark. And for the record she knows something is up, and the ship has sailed on her worrying. I’ll try to stall and distract her so you can handle it, but our problems wont stop her from noticing for long.” I sat there for a few minutes to let what all he said sink in. It was a lot to swallow.
“Pierce.”
“Ya.”
“Thank you.”
“No prob.”
“Don’t overwhelm her, and you wont have any problems.”
“What?” He asked confused.
“With Riley, be patient. You’re going to have to push a little, but don’t overwhelm her. Go slow, and be there for her, don’t try to push her against her threshold and what ever you do don’t you dare walk.”
“Thank you, and I really mean it Elliot.”
“Just don’t screw up.” When he parked I got out to stretch my limbs, and I saw that we were the first ones here.
“Were is everyone?”
“Conner got stuck in traffic, he said that he’ll be here in ten minutes. We managed to miss a accident, but they got caught in it.” Pierce said as I saw he snapped his phone close. I started to laugh. “What?”
“Conner is stuck in the car with Riley, Max, Adam, Mark, and Will.”
“So.”
“Remember the last time Conner and Adam were in the car together, now add Max and Riley to the equation.”
“Crap.”
“Perfect words to fit the situation.”
“Why is that a problem?” Luke asked.
“Conner and Adam serious dislike each other. They tent to get into fights when in the vicinity together, and now throw in Max who is all ready pissed off and Riley who right now is on an emotion seesaw. We’re luck if any of them come out un harmed. I feel bad for Mark and Will. But them again it’s pay back to the two of them for not locking their door.”
“Ya, sorry about that Elliot. They told me about it when I got back
to the room.” Luke was Will and Mark’s roommate, the poor fellow.
“You walked in on them making out didn’t you?” Lain asked, standing
next to his brother.
“Yup. Wait you know about the?”
“We all do, but are waiting for them to come clean of it on their own. Honestly no one cares besides Damion, and that’s only because Will got drunk one night and was all over him.” I tried to stifle my laughter, but I was to wound up and I needed the tension breaker and as a result when I saw Conner’s truck pulling up I was in a fit of laughter. Riley was out of the car even before Conner made a full stop, and she looked about to burst in tears.
“Elliot tell them to stop making out. Not even Cory can make out
with his girlfriend for two hours straight.” I laughed even harder, and couldn’t hold myself up so I ended up on the ground laughing like lunatic. “Elliot, don’t make fun of me.”
When the tears started on Riley’s face there was no way I was going to be able to stop. We must have look liked nuts with me laughing crazy and Riles crying in the parking lot.
“Max throw Elliot over your shoulder, and I’ll get Riley. Let’s get them inside before they attract to much attention.” Peirce said, but still even when we were over their shoulders I was laughing and Riley was crying, it was even harder.
