Chapter One: Introduction of Lost

Emilina brushed her hair from her face and started opening the gym door. She was speaking harshly into her white cell phone. "You little shit, do you not understand? I want that internship, if I have to prive the application from your cold dead fingers." Of course she didn't mean it, but she really wanted the internship. She had been working so hard for it recently, having to date all those bald ugly men. She slammed the cell phone shut and slipped it into her bag. She looked around, it seemed everything was frozen, or time had stopped. Her gaze stopped on a small white light that seemed to be floating above her head. It started to grow and she felt as if she was sucked into a hole of some sort. She landed on the grass with a thud, she started to stand, looking down at her knees. "Not my Gucci kaprees! Why those?" She stood up and looked down at her grass stained kaprees. She then looked around and started to panic. "Where the hell am I?"

Jacky was barely managing to dodge around the vast amount of people as she dashed through the halls of the high school. "God no..." she growled to herself as her bag flew behind her and her hoodie flapping from her hand, "...I'm going to be late...again!" She grabbed a near by door frame, using it to pivot herself around a corner. Her sprint continued till she reached her destination, Room 1313. Glancing down at her watch she heaved a sigh noticing she was just intime. Opening the door she looked in and saw that everything was stopped. Her friends looked like they were in the middle of laughing and her teacher looked as if he were about to say something to the class. "What the...?" she wondered to herself as she walked around the classroom, waving her hand infront of people's faces. Nothing, no reactions from anyone. "This is so crea..." but before she could finish the thought a white light formed above her head and in that instant she was gone. Jacky's eyes blinked in surprise at what her eyes were met with. "Oh boy...this is NOT good..."

Emilina looked around as another person appeared, she seemed to be about the same age. She watched her for a moment, then looked around once again. "Who are you?" The surroundings seemed to be burnt, except for the ten by ten foot patch of grass. She pulled her gym clothes out of her bag and looked at the other woman. She started to change, not really all that shyly either. In about five minutes time she had changed into her gym clothes and was tightening her tennis shoe strings.

Rebecca let out a sigh and saluted, taking of her fencing mask she walked towards her opponent and shook his hand. "Good bout." she said as he nodded and walked back to the starting line as she unplugged herself from the machine, and tossed her sabre to her left hand freeing up her right ro unzip the collar of her leme and unbutton the first two buttons of her jacket. These fencing uniforms were always so hot. she thought as annother sabre fencer walked over to the machine. "Quitting already?" he asked.
"Yeah, I gotta get home, its my parent's aniversary tonight." she replied.
"Ah, well, have fun."he stated, placing his mask over his auburn hair as she turned and made her way to the locker room to change back into her normal outfit. I wonder if mama coocked something good... she thought, pulling on her boots.
"Hey....what the-" she was cut off for as she slung her black and white pinstripe bag over her shoulder a bright light appeared above her. Feeling herself being pulled into a strange place and land with a thud on the grass Rebecca stood and brushed hersef off. "Bloody 'ell! What in blazes is this place?!" she exclaimed notcing the other two girls.
" 'Ello, either of you wouldn't happen to know where we are, would you?" she inquired.

Jacky looked towards the other two girls and sighed. "Ok...this is just freaky..." she muttered as she shook her head slightly. Looking around she slowly took in her surroundings and finally when her eyes met with the same two girls she sighed again. "Well...I'm Jacky...how about you two?" her voice wavering slightly as she tried to remain calm.

Great...mama and papa are going to kill me if I miss my flight... Rebecca thought glancing up at the sky. "I'm Rebecca." she stated simply, ploping down on the ground.

Chris stood up from his computer desk grabbing his pencil and notebook, and turned down the volume on his ipod. Walking to the fridge he found that there was nothing in it, as his stomach growled again wanting food. "Fine Calm down I'll go to the store" Chris said to himself. Opening the front door to go down to the store, he found a great white light the snuck in the second the door was open; engulfing Chris and taking him to some unknown land.
"Okay wake up Chris" he said to himself again, as he slapped himself

Annother person? Thought Rebecca as she saw the young man appear. What is going on here? And how exactly are we going to get home? she wondered as she took a small leather bound notebook with a floral design stiched into the soft but worn chocolate cover with a faded ivory thread, and a pencil from her bag, and began to sketch the dismal scenery around them.

Jacky's head whipped around to look at Chris as she began to panic. "Oh god...where the hell are we?" she wondered outloud knowing no one knew the answer.

"Well, sitting here just wondering won't really do us any good, will it?" inquired Rebecca, finishing up her sketch and snapping the book shut as she placed it and the pencil she was using back in her bag. "And there certainlly aren't any people here, we should see if there is anyone in this god forsaken place and see if they can help us get back home."

Chris walked around realizing that he wasn't dreaming. "Some how I really doubt that anyone will know how to send us back, it doesn't even seem populated they can't have the resources or knowledge to know" He scartched his head as he said this.

Emilina thought to herself for a few moments. Isn't this the cream of the crop? She looked at the other people and smiled weakly. "I have to agree with him on this, how advanced can anyone be around here? I don't see a mall or gym anywhere, let alone people, besides us." She looked back to Rebecca, then to the other two. "My name is Emilina, Emi for short. I think we should move from here, all the commotion might have attracted some attention."

Rebecca nodded. "Rebecca Stone," she replied, looking over her shoulder. I've probably missed that flight...if we ever get back I'm so dead...not to mention I'll miss auditons for that new play... she thought with a sigh.

Emilina smiled weakly then started to walk toward the edge of the woods, her bag in towe. She took a deep breathe and disappeared behind a thick line of trees, she changed, shoving the other clothes in her bag and looked over at Rebecca. "Can't hike in heels, you know?" She smiled once again and looked to Jacky and Chris. "So which way do you think we should start off?"

Jacky looked at the others and shrugged. "I have no clue where we should go." she finished as she looked around.

Rebecca looked around. "Does it even matter which way we go? After all we have no idea where we are." she stated.

A mysterious man watched them from the cliff, he was dressed in tribal cloth and held a spear in his left hand. He wasn't sure how they got there, but each resembled a great goddess or god. He would report back to his village, they would send out a manhunt and find them. They were propheied to be sacrificed to the real gods or honored. It all depended on the old wise woman in the village.

Emilina brushes her hair from her face and looked around, she followed the tree line and saw it vanished into the forest. "We could follow those trees, when I was changing, there was a creek. Most civilazations have to start near water, we can find a village and find out some answers.

Chris looked to where Emilina was talking about and agreed "We should walk that way, it seems best" Leaving his name a mystery to the other. these people dont need to know my name not till i can be sure that they can be trusted Chris started to walk off in the way they talked about

Rebecca followed behind the others in silence, something was up. Of that she was sure. I just hope if or when we find a village they're freindly... she thought as they made their way towards the river.

As Jacky followed she looked at Chris apprehensively. Why didn't he tell us his name? Jacky's mind questioned in a paranoid manner. Can we trust him? I mean...can I really trust all of them? she thought while walking and listening to her feet crunch on the ground.

Emilina sighed and started behind the trees, and walkng along the creek. What made us so special, why didn't Toni or someone else come here, why me? She looked over at Chris, who was following her and the others. Why hadn't he spoke up with his name, is he a criminal or something? She looked back to the creek and sighed as she kept her pace up. "What were you doing right before all this? I was going into the gym, today was my work out day, and I think I may have missed my hair appointment." She took a deep breath and looked down at her watch. It was spinning out of control, the hands kept turning, non-stop. "My watch, it's messed up."

Chris spoke up, "I was just about to go store, just finished writing some for a new story I plan on releasing, but aparently I might not meet the due date for that" He looked around a bit still seeing nothing.

"Heading to class...I was late. But I guess it doesn't matter anymore...now does it?" Jacky spoke without looking at the others. She reached into her bag once she heard about Emilina's watch and pulled out her cell phone and looked at it. Something was wrong with it, it seemed to be counting down for something. The numbers quickly changed from 47/27/33 to 47/27/32 and again to 47/27/31. Her walking halted as she closed her cell phone and placed it into her bag once again. A count down? her mind questioned as she caught up to the small group. 47 hours...27 minutes...this cannot be good...

Rebecca watched as Jacky checked her cell phone, but didn't speak, there was someone or something else here following them, which made her pay attention to her surroundings even more. "I had left fencing early so I could catch a flight to venice to vist my parents for their anniversary, and instead, I wound up here." she said quietly as they continued to walk on.

Emilina continued walking along the river. She felt very ackward and was worried, she felt eyes watching her. "Does anyone else feel like we are being watched?"

The mysterious man followed them keeping out of sight, he was on the other side of the river, and keeping up by swinging from tree to tree. He went to grab one and it was weak, it snapped under his weight. He fell with a thud, hitting the ground loudly, they had to have heard him. He stood up snatching up the spear and thrusted it toward the woman in lead. It missed her and hit the tree right next to her. He then started to sprint away from the river, shouting. "UIF HNET!!!" He shouted in a foreign language.

Emilinas eyes widened and she turned her head to look at the spear, then her eyes went to the white man across the river. He shouted something in Whinese and ran. She had graduated high school early and had studied Whinese in Africa for two years. "He is Whinese." We must be close to a head hunting tribe, the marks on the spear show head hunter noches. She was now very worried.

Rebecca walked calmly over to the spear, taking it out of the tree she looked it over. "So then, it would seem they know we're here..." she spun it around in her left hand, passing it to her right while keeping her distance from the others so she wouldn't hit them as she did so. "I guess now we have two choices, go to them or wait for them to come to us." she said quietly, more to herself then anyone else, but happy that they now had some kind of weapon, and one that she was alright at using.

Jacky looked absolutely shaken as she stared at the spear and shook her head. "If that guy was talking Whinese...then...this place must still me somewhere on earth...right?" she questioned out loud.

Emilina bit down on her lip, you would believe so but the problem is that the ones on Earth are not head hunters, and I have never seen some of these trees." She looked up at the pink sun and sighed. "And that sun is not normal." I wonder if I will ever see my friends again, ever get drunk with them, ever get married. She glanced at Chris. "Your awful quiet." She looked to Jacky. "The language is rather easy, their letter is the letter after ours, like a would be b in their language." She looked at Rebecca. "You can use that? I know I can defend myself, I took karate since I was three."

Rebecca glanced down at the spear in her hands. "Well, I'm better with a sabre, but my brother taught me a thing or two about other weapons." She couldn't help but think that she would never see her friends or family, and that they may die here, but she wouldn't let that happen, not if there was some chance that they might be able to get back.

Chris looked up he was in shock from when that happened. "Well at least we can assume correctly that they dont have technology here, at least not advanced techonology"
Chris opened his book and jotted something down while looking at the spear every couple of seconds. Amazing, if we do make it back I must make something of this.He then looked over to Emilina, "Sorry that I wasn't very talkative I just usually keep to myself, by the way, my names Chris" he extended a hand to her waiting for her to shake it.

Emilina nodded and shook his hand. "It's okay." She looked to Rebecca and smiled some. "Atleast you can be useful." She looked around then back at him. "Want to tell me what you were doing before all this?"

Chris looked up at Emilina "I was working on my current story, thats about it, my very interesting life eh?" he smirked after saying this

Rebecca placed her spear in her right hand and held it like a walking stick. "Ah, the extrodinary life of a writer...What was the story about?" she inquired.

Emilina nodded some now interested. "What were you writing about?" She touched her forehead and looked around. "We should get going." She started walking away from the river into the woods. "I doubt that the village is friendly, after what just happened."

Chris looked at them slightly smiling. "Well its not the greatest book out there but I'm not the greatest writer either" he then paused for a second, "well its actually sort of ironic, its about some people who get taken away from there real life and into some mysterious place where they have no idea what is what, and feel sort of trapt." Chris looked around again I hope we don't end up like the characters in my story

Jacky looked between the others as she listened and letting her gaze settle on Chris. "W-what happened to them in your story...?" she questioned hoping maybe it would reassure her.

Chris tried not to look directly in her eyes, "well, I'm not done yet, so can't say" Chris lied to her since he knew none of them really wanted to here

Rebecca looked up at the sky. "But you have started the story, so you have a baisic idea of what will happen, don't you? Or is it you don't want us to know because it isn't pleasant?" she inquired as they began to walk again. "But even so, a story is a story, its just a coincidence that it just happens to be somewhat like our current situation." she stated.

"Yea lets hope" Chris said under his breath, "Well yes but, I dunno I'm sure it's not going to be like this at all"

"Well then stop being so gloomy, and lets find the village and try to get home." Beckie stated. Thats if we can get home...but if we can't...then what? Do we just make the best of our lives here she wondered, she couldn't help but think there would be some alterior motive the villagers might have if they didn't kill them first.

Chris picked up the pace a little bit without saying a word, before he came to an exit in the woods, and stopped before leave

Falling to the back of the group and walking slower, Jacky took this time to think about their current situation.

Emilina kept her pace and looked back to the others. "I don't really want to hear about a dumb story, I might start to think this is your fault." She stopped walking and looked up, the sun was setting. "I think we should rest some, what do you guys think?"

Chris continued to stand still in the one place. "rest sounds really good, but it's not excatly safe here, we would need to keep watchmen, no?"

Emilina nodded and looked over to the other two. "We will take turns, once we start to fall asleep we will wake someone else. Mainly because this place can't be timed. It seems to change rapidly." She set her bag down, and looked around, there was a thick brush near by. She walked over and inside was an oval type clearing. "What about over here?"

Chris walked over and stood next to her peering into the clearing. "Looks like a good place to me, so who is staying up the first time?"

Emilina she piped up. "I'll do it, then I'll wake someone else when I start to tire. Is that agreed? We all will watch sometime or another." She went back for her bag and walked back to the clearing, she made her way to one side. "I would say, lets make a fire, but it would attract attention."

"No a fire wouldn't be the best idea" Chris looked at the others, "Staying close together for at least some heat would be better, not to sound like a creep or anything" He then sat sat to the side in the clearing

"I'll be here if any of you need me." Rebecca stated, resting the spear aganst the trung of a tree and sitting down, leaning against it.

Emilina took a deep breathe then looked to Chris. "One man with three women, makes you sound like a pervert to me." She smiled slightly. "We know you mean well." She looked at Rebecca. "Why don't you come in the small clearing?"

Chris smiled then walked over to where they were sitting "Thanks I thought you wouldn't want me to."

Emilina smiled still. "I know what you mean. I totally understand. Get some rest, you'll be next."

Chris sighed slightly at the comment "alright, goodnight" then rolled over and went to sleep
