Corporations of AC
Armored Core
Chrome - This corporate conglomerate is based in Isaac City. It is one of the largest corporations in the world. Although they are not shy in publicizing the strengthening of their monopolistic system of exerting control over the city, few dare to speak publicly against them because of the magnitude and extent of their power. In the field of pharmaceutical research and development, they have a partnership with the leading firm "Chemical-Dyne Co."
Murakumo Millennium - This large corporation is mainly involved in industrial manufacturing. Their reputation is particularly strong in AC-related products, and their technical prowess is said to exceed even that of Chrome. They are also one of the few corporations who have made clear their opposition to Chrome's plans for monopolistic rule. For this reason, military confrontations frequently occur in the vicinity of Isaac City.
Guards - The guards are security organizations in the service of each corporation, charged with maintaining public order in the regions ruled by each corporation. While their armaments differ slightly depending on their corporate parent, they seem to be somewhat at a loss when pitted against the terrorist groups who have begun running rampant lately.
Ravens' Nest - For a price, this mercenary organization will take on any mission, be it legal or otherwise. The Ravens' Nest has no discretion with regard to the content of the mission or the requesters, and no details at all are known with respect to who runs it or how it came to be.
Armored Core: Project Phantasma
Amber Crown - A mid-sized subterranean complex, large parts of which have fallen into disrepair. Rumors persist that a shadowy research group, known only as the "Doomsday Organization," is taking advantage of the neglected portions of the city and using them as sites on which to build and operate their facilities.
Doomsday Organization - Shrouded in mystery, it is rumored that this so-called research organization is the beneficiary of financial backing contributed by a conglomeration of companies and the driving force behind "Project Phantasma."
Armored Core Master of Arena
PROGTECH - PROGTECH is a research company rapidly gaining influence and power. Their rise within the corporate ranks is largely attributed to groundbreaking achievements in AC related development. The firm's central player is a brilliant scientist and the head of R&D named Elan Cubis.
Armored Core 2
Zio Matrix - The most prominent corporation on Mars, Zio Matrix earned this position after following up on long lost plans relating to the terra-forming of the planet. The company is capable of projecting a fearsome array of military might, but is usually capable of cowing other corporation's meddling with just the threat of its use.
Emeraude - Earth's largest corporation, but the second largest so far as Martian expansion goes. Emeraude has ambitious growth aspirations and boldly seizes or creates opportunities to gain the upper hand. Emeraude is the catalyst behind many corporate conflicts.
Balena - Balena falls a distant third behind both Zio Matrix and Emeraude with regards to corporate expansion on Mars, but maintains a firm footing by siding with neither of its competitors. In fact, the company conducts business with both, and is steadily growing.
Earth Government - A provisional government organization established after the signing of the Isaac Treaty. Its initial focus was bringing order to the subterranean world after the Deep Earth War. Eventually, the government's attention shifted towards reestablishing human civilization on the Earth's surface and though great strides have been made, much work remains. Given the fact that most of the government's resources are put to use on the Earth, they have little sway over the situation on Mars.
LCC (Large Scale Enterprises of the Central Committee) - The LCC is an attempt by the Earth government to establish a presence on Mars and bring order to the chaos there. A severe shortage of resources limits the LCC's influence, and what little they do have pales in comparison to that wielded by the corporations. The LCC is more or less a puppet organization with little to no control over events on Mars.
Nerves Concord - Similar in function to the Ravens' Nest of old, the Nerves Concord acts as an intermediary between the corporations and Ravens. For providing this service, the Nerves Concord takes a commission on all transactions.
Frighteners - An Earth government sponsored mercenary group, intended to bolster the LCC's position on Mars and bring both the corporations and Ravens to heel. Its core members are all ex-Ravens and they're lead by Leos Klein, a "Nine Breaker."
Armored Core 2: Another Age
Zio Matrix - Following a failed coup attempt (through which Zio hoped to strengthen its power base by exploiting Disorder technology), the parent company sidestepped most repercussions by discreetly transferring blame to its Mars division, claiming it acted alone. Even so, Zio Matrix now toes a fine line with the government and is more circumspect in its dealings.
Emeraude - After an all-out clash with the LCC on Mars, Emeraude's position has been significantly weakened. In a bid to combat the government's increasing influence and regain lost ground, Emeraude actively pursues confrontation and is the most volatile corporate element.
Balena - Due to the Frighteners overstepping their authority, Balena and the LCC's efforts to reshuffle the power structure on Mars failed. Balena's ties with both Zio and Emeraude are all but severed, now that the company's involvement with the government is public knowledge. Balena continues to provide assistance to the government, but it is also secretly backing the Indies rebel group.
Nerves Concord - The Nerves Concord continues its role as both Arena operator and impartial middleman between the corporations and Ravens. Though siding with no one, the Nerves Concord's function perpetuates corporate rivalries.
The Earth Government - Under the tagline "The Central Union of Earth", the Earth government is exactly what its name suggests it is; a singular governmental body serving the entire planet. After the end of the subterranean era and the downfall of the Earth-based corporations the government rebuilt itself into the ruling body it was prior to the "Great Destruction". The government relies primarily on proxies like the Bureaus of Control and the LCC to govern locally while it focuses on the environmental reclamation and the repopulation of Earth's surface. After being betrayed by the Frighteners, the government has become reluctant to employ Ravens unless circumstances are dire and Ravens are not allowed to enter Earth Central, the capital city of Earth.
Bureaus of Control (BOC) - Administrative bodies set in place by the government. BOC's exist in all major Earth cities and are tasked with supervising development, regulating corporate activity, and maintaining order in their respective cities and the surrounding areas. Bureau names indicate their area of jurisdiction, for example, Neo Isaac Bureau of Control.
Indies - A large, well-financed rebel group that plots against both the government and corporations in a bid to overthrow them and establish a new governing body. Its ranks consist mainly of the poor and disenfranchise
d, but a number of Ravens have taken up the cause as well.
Armored Core 3
Mirage - Originally an industrial machine manufacturer, Mirage has matured into one of the era's leading AC development houses. The company hopes to further strengthen its position by gaining access to The Controller and administering its power to benefit Mirage's agenda. However, this plan has yet to be carried out due to fear of The Controller's reprisals should they attempt to act and fail.
Crest - Mirage's main competitor, Crest initially rose to power as a bioengineering concern before redirecting its efforts into the field of AC part development. Crest is just as eager to expand its interests as Mirage but is reluctant to achieve this end by manipulating The Controller, because in Crest's opinion, the current system is the best anyone can hope for. This difference in perception places Crest and Mirage at odds.
Kisaragi - Like any corporate entity, Kisaragi strives to grow both its product line and market share, but given its size, only pushes the envelope when a clear advantage exists. Kisaragi's aspirations for power center mainly on surpassing their corporate rivals and they take a very middle-of-the-road approach with regards to The Controller. Kisaragi broke into the AC development field after a successful stint as a computer manufacturer.
Union - An underground rebel group whose core members consist of intellectuals vehemently opposed to The Controller's uncontested rule of Layered. Because of this stance, Crest regards Union as Layered's most serious threat. Meanwhile, Union remains convinced that something is amiss in Layered and has gone so far as to claim that The Controller is malfunctioning.
Global Cortex - A unique organization, Global Cortex is the intermediary between corporate clients and mercenaries for hire. These mercenaries, more commonly referred to as Ravens, are pilots who operate the massive mechanized units known as Armored Cores. Though Global Cortex works closely with all of Layered's corporations, it maintains a strict level of neutrality and does not side with any of them.
Armored Core: Silent Line
Global Cortex - A unique organization, Global Cortex is the intermediary between corporate clients and mercenaries for hire. These mercenaries, more commonly referred to as Ravens, are pilots who operate the massive mechanized units known as Armored Cores. Though Global Cortex works closely with all the corporations, it maintains a strict level of neutrality and does not side with any of them.
Mirage - Mirage, the largest of the three corporations, intends to strengthen its position as the world's dominant power through the immediate acquisition and redevelopment of surface territory. Mirage believes that the future lies aboveground and all of the corporation's current efforts are focused on ensuring that this vision becomes a reality. Every day that Mirage's influence in Layered wanes, their grip on the surface world grows.
Crest - Second only to Mirage, Crest is another corporate giant which exercises great influence over the masses. While both companies are well aware of the benefits that would accompany control of the planet's surface, Crest views Mirage's plans as far too shortsighted to succeed. Crest's own strategy, while not as immediately apparent as Mirage's, is more long-term in nature. Crest intends to first fill the void left behind when the Controller was destroyed, thereby gaining control of Layered and its citizens, and then use this momentum to secure its position on the planet's surface.
Kisaragi - Kisaragi is a mouse among lions and even though they've made some surface territory gains, these pale in comparison to those secured by Crest and Mirage. Direct confrontation with either of its rivals would result in Kisaragi's demise, and the company takes great pains to avoid any involvement in disputes between the two. By adopting a watch-and-wait attitude, Kisaragi has done all it realistically can to ensure its continued existence.
Artificial Intelligence Office (AIO) - An organization dedicated to the redevelopment of A.I. technology after The Controller’s destruction and mankind’s return to the surface world. They have been supplying A.I. technology to all three major corporations, though curiously no one has ever made face-to-face contact with an AIO representative.
IBIS - An A.I. construct similar to The Controller (which was called 'Dove' in the Japanese version of Armored Core 3) found within the second Layered.
Armored Core Nexus
Raven’s Ark - The successor to Global Cortex in the region in which the game takes place. Like its previous incarnations the Ark, as its known in shorthand, is a neutral "mediation" organization responsible for setting up contracts between Ravens and the Corporations. The Ark has one primary stipulation: Ravens shall not directly accept a contract from a client without going through the Ark first.
Mirage - The largest and most powerful of the corporations. Despite their impressive strength, Mirage is still expanding into the region and is meeting with fierce opposition from Navis, a smaller corporation already heavily entrenched in the region. Mirage has its eye on Navis' unique assets and is not above starting a war to acquire them.
Crest - The second largest corporation behind Mirage. Crest is also working its way into the region but seems to be too concerned with self-defence and preservation to stick its nose in the escalating Mirage-Navis conflict too often. However, if push comes to shove Crest has an army of private AC pilots led by the intimidating Genobee ready to step into the fray.
Kisaragi - One of the smaller corporations. Kisaragi is a technical innovator always on the look out to acquire new resources and refurbish lost technologies to help their advancement. Kisaragi remains a primarily selfish and opportunistic player, offering aid in one hand and striking out with the other when the time is right.
Navis - A new corporation formed very recently. Navis has a monopoly on a new resource and control over the region of the world where this resource can be found. Their all out refusal to divulge any information on this resource or share with the other corporations have lead to rivalries and even conflicts with the other corporations. Mirage is proving to be Navis’ chief rival.
USE - A local weapons and MT manufacturer. It is the most neutral and simultaneously most inactive of the corporations.
Organization for Administrating Enterprise (OAE) - A bureaucratic organization designed to police the corporations and keep them all in check. The organization is quite ineffective and is often bullied into complying with the wishes of the larger corporations. Mirage constantly uses the OAE to its own advantage.

Armored Core Last Raven
Vertex - A force of Ravens formed by Jack-O from the pool of Ravens who formerly worked for the Raven’s Ark, sworn to fight against the Alliance. Vertex has captured the old Navis installation known as Circ-City. Jack has also put out a bounty on any Raven caught working for the Alliance, dead or alive. Makes things a little more interesting that way.
Alliance - A massive super-corporation formed when Crest, Mirage and Kisaragi pooled their forces together in the wake of the incident with Navis and the attack of the lost weapons technology they unearthed. The Alliance has put out a bounty on Jack-O and any Raven working for his Vertex organization, again, dead or alive. It just gets better.
Alliance Tactical Unit - The military arm of the Alliace super-corporation. It is charged with defending the Alliance headquarters and surpressing the activities of Vertex and the other local warlords. Evangel and his allied Ravens do this.
Kisaragi Loyalists - A group of Alliance scientists who are still loyal to Kisaragi as a separate entity from the Alliance. They are rumoured to be continuing the bio-weapon experiments started by Kisaragi back in Armored Core: Nexus from a secret facillity in the Garav Desert.
