Curls Rock Leave-In Moisturizer review

I absolutely love, love, LOVE hair products, especially good ones that leave my hair looking and feeling healthy and silky-soft, as well as smelling fabulous. I love that I can make my hair straight, curly, wavy, poofy, and more all with the right products. However, I truly abhor hair products that leave my hair looking, feeling, and/or smelling greasy, stiff, slimy, crunchy, dry or burnt. I recently had to chop most of my hair off in order to allow it grow out as new, healthy hair as opposed to the mushy, processed mess that it had become after so many dye jobs and bad processing. Lately, I have been trying to use good, healthy hair products that will keep my hair in tip-top shape so that I never, ever have to lose that many inches of my dark, wavy locks again, and in my efforts to try something good, I stumbled upon Curls Rock Leave-In Moisturizer by Catwalk.

Curls Rock Leave-In Moisturizer comes in a blue, plastic, 250 ml (8.5 fluid ounces) container. This container is mostly round, at least at the bottom of the bottle, which then ends in a sort of “spout,” upon which one may press in order to squirt a bit of the product into their hands to rub through their hair. This “spout” is made of hard, clear plastic and may be twisted to lock onto the bottle so as to keep any of the Moisturizer from leaving the “spout.” The product itself is rather watery and is light-blue, almost teal, in color. It smells rather sweet and somewhat plastic-y, even when applied to one’s hair. When used in extreme moderation, the Moisturizer may leave hair looking and feeling clean and natural, though a sticky residue will be left on one’s hands and fingers wherever the Moisturizer touched. However, when used as Leave-In Moisturizers should be, somewhat excessively, one’s hair is left looking and feeling greasy and sticky. If this product is applied to any area in thick amounts and is able to dry, the result will be hard, teal, greasy chunks. Ew!

The product itself is very easy to use; one may rub the product through their hair while their hair is either wet or dry. That’s it. The product should then defrizz, define and detangle hair. When used in the smallest amounts possible, these results MAY be achieved.

Ingredients for the product include Water, Amodimethicone, Polyquarternium-11, Polysorbate 20, Dimethicone PEG-8, Meadowfoamate, Guar Hydoxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Glycerin, Panthenol, Cocodimonium, Hydroxypropyl Hydrolyzed Collagen, Trideceth-12, Glycine Soya (Soy) Bean Oil, Myrtus Communis (Myrtle) Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Thymus Vulgaris (Thyme) Oil, Eugenia Caryophyllus (Clove) Flower Oil, Sodium Chloride, Magnesium Gluconate, Manganese, Retinyl Palmitate, Thiamine, Riboflavin, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Ascorbic Acid, Tocopherol Acetate, Folic Acid, Inositol, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Citric Acid, Parfum (Fragrance), Limonene and more.

This product left my hair in absolutely disgusting condition no matter if I used the Moisturizer in my hair while it was wet or dry. I would not recommend this product to anyone, ever. It took so much effort to use the smallest amount possible that would leave my hair feeling conditioned and not gross, that it just was not worth it. Two thumbs down to this product. My hair is NOT happy.
