Drawing Manga - Manga Inks 2

Alright, continuing on. Now we'll start covering more detailed things.

As always, we start with a penciled drawing:



More involved than a head, but still not too difficult. :3

Now, before you pick up your pen and get too work, there are some areas to look at and some decisions to make.



These are some of the areas that need attention. Take note that she's wearing a backpack. It will pull parts of her jacket back, so more wrinkles and stretch marks may need to be added.
The type of fabric your character is wearing also needs to be taken into consideration. Leathers, felt, and heavy denims don't wrinkle as much as thinners cloths and linens.
The legs also need adjustment, because right now, it looks like Sarah is going to tip over.

Also, I have to pay special attention to what I ink because my pencils are so sketchy.
I rarely erase my guidelines and the figure underneath the clothes, unless it turns into a garbled mass of graphite.

With the same ideaology, I may also omit penciling in tiny details until I have some basic inking done. That way I can erase most of the structure and start fresh without it interfereing.

For example, she's wet; just came in out of the rain. Once I've inked in the basics, I'll go in and draw some indications of dripping water.
