1. NO STEALING LITERATURE. The poetry MUST be written by you. If anyone is found to be stealing someone else's work they will be disqualified from this and all future official written contests. The piece that you enter can be old, but it must not have been submitted previously in an different official contest. If your work has been submitted into a non-official contest, then you may still enter it here.

2. No fan-fiction in this contest. We accept that you may be inspired from somewhere, but if you write a story with a land called Marmia containing Baslam the lion, it's not going to cut it with us. Original work here please.

3. LENGTH:

-Since the chosen poems will be featured on Mainstreet, we wouldn't like them to be too long. Anywhere in the range of 8-50 lines is acceptable. Be creative but please keep that in mind!

4. No pornography or excessive violence please. Use your common sense as to what would be acceptable and what not, but the crew's decision in this matter is final.

5. - You may submit (1) one poem to this contest.

6. - Quality restrictions. If you want us to put effort into reading the story, put effort into writing it. Poems with exceptionally bad spelling and/or grammar will be disqualified. If your poem isn't going to make the cut, we'll put a comment underneath the entry saying so. you're allowed to ask for help with spelling and grammar.

Theme and deadline

What will we be expecting?
There's not a strict theme on this contest but the images have to be dark/creepy and maybe even cute while creepy. Nothing too garrish or gory, just good old dark twisted/surreal poetry.

DEADLINE: 19 April 2009

Note: 1-3 Poems will be picked out by the Council and Assembly among all those presented depending on the amount of entries.

Participants will receive green worm badges, and winners will receive a coloured version of the same.
