Death Troopers by Joe Schreiber review

Death Troopers is a relatively new book based in the Prequel era (Episodes 1, 2, 3) and takes place primarily on an Imperial prison barge and a derelict Star Destroyer.

The ship comes out of hyperspace and blows a few thrusters. Luckily there is the aforementioned Star Destroyer in the area that they decide to board and scavenge for parts. Shortly upon their return from the Star Destroyer, people start getting sick and dying rapidly. Within an hour all but eight people are left alive, seemingly immune to the disease.

The rest of the book tells of the survivors attempts to get off the ships and away from the growing zombie horde. The book has a good story to tell, but crams it all in a measly 271 pages of sub-par storytelling that leave you feeling like there could have been so much more. It all is rushed and there is little substance to it. I liked it as it added to the Star Wars Universe, but I didn't like it as a book and don't highly recommend it. However, if you are a fan of Star Wars and anything in the vein of Resident Evil then you may enjoy this story.
