In the forest a little ways beyond the Tavern of the Lost, there's a two story dilapidated house. The house looks as if it might fall apart in a fairly strong breeze or hail storm, but somehow it still manages to stand. It's the old house of a mechanic known as Creeves. He died a few years ago and lately the people who live nearby seem to think it's being haunted. This is because after his death strange things have been happening to anyone who goes too close to his residence. Not very many people know that the late mechanic's apprentice, Deltira Amriel, still lives there by herself. Being a bit of a hermit type, she lives all alone and leaves all sorts of unusual traps for anyone who comes uninvited... and sometimes she even leaves them for those who have been invited as well. Of the few that know Deltira, most think she's utterly insane or eccentric. Who knows, maybe she is?
Elwyne stumbled into the grounds around the strange house and looked around for the monster that she had followed there.
the monsters injured state made it cautious of the entirly new location...it snuk from bush to shrub lower then all four in a quarter cirkle back and forth...it carfuly observed every tree ,shadow ,and objeckt primativly assesing any threats befor it apeard befor elwyne...it positiond its body direcktly next to her nearly srubing against her damp close...as (they) walked further it arched upwards and began to limp again...its nose pointed straight forward...stil
l it kept one sharp eye on the seemingly abandond house on one side and one perked ear twards the girl it traveld with on the otherside...its position between the girl and house was purpesly demonstrated in regards of a growing trust...
Elwyne was also very cautious of the strange house that she saw not very far. It didn't look very inviting, and she wondered whether or not anyone lived in such a shack. Elwyne smiled as the monster that she thought of as her newest friend appeared, though she didn't really understand why it stayed so close to her. She tried her very best not to trip on the creature as it pressed itself close to her side.
Just then the mound of dirt that Elwyne had stepped on triggered one of the many traps around the house. The earth on both sides of the monster and
the little hobbit rose upward and inward like the sides of a venus flytrap about to close around the two figures inside.
the old mind of the monster had no prior concepts of traps...instead it counterd the walls as another person...starteld ,it rose tall on two legs looked down at the girl and began to effortlessly swing its fist full of claws against the unpenatrable wall...anger and fright rushed upwards into the monsters chest as it began to swing wildly about from one side to the other...with little progress and the stuborn state of survival the monster forced itself to jump digging its four legs into the side of the wall...it used its natuarl manipulation of body weight to uncontrolably shake the closing wall
Elwyne gasped and tried to escape the closing walls around her as the monster attacked them, but was unable to escape the closing trap. Instead she ducked down and wrapped herself into a little ball, hoping that she wouldn't get caught by the claws of the monster or crushed by the trap.
As the monster attacked the walls of the trap with it's claws, bit's of sod ripped off revealing the mechanical device underneath. Jets of some kind of liquid coming from some kind of bottle began shooting off between the two walls to cover everything in the center with sticky yellow green goo.
the stream of sticky goo that shot out nearly cought the monster face first ,but in the last moment it let go of the wall and stumble to the ground...a manouver that unluckyly coverd it with most of the goo...unawear of the girls curled formation it lets itself fall on its back sending a hard wave of pain that repelled off its broken ribs...coverd in random patches of goo it releases an intence ROAR...it mistakingly rolls to its side trying to regain its stance ,however it only pressed the sticky substance...almost permanetly locking it to the ground...without thought it used its powerfull back legs and pressed them against the wall...with all avalable energy it forced its legs stright ripping the goo that held it to the floor...one eye twitched as a chunk of furr remaind on the ground...it freed its side but the backward force cought its head against the other wall...stuck again...the back of its head against a wall and its forarm and elbows on the gound...the monster stuggled with the only body parts it had loose...its two leggs kicked back and forth for a short time befor it suddenly stoped to catch some despartly needed breath...
The walls of the trap didn't entirely close, they came up within a couple feet of each other and then made an annoying whistling and grinding sound before dropping back into their places in the ground with a thud. The goo continued to jet from the bottles for just a bit longer before they too shut off.
Elwyne was caught as the monster fell backward, though she was only caught by its shoulder. When it ripped itself back up Elwyne was left still stuck to the monster's shoulder by the gluey stuff that had covered them both. Elwyne waved her arms and legs and wriggled trying to get loose, but was unable to manage to do so.
wen the monster cant defeat an oponent it retreats and atacks from a diffrent side...no longer bound to the walls the monster saw its oppertunity to regroop...in all the confussion it did not realize the goo coverd girl was stuck to its right sholder...addapting to the situation the monster rolled its body sidways on the left side of its back...this area had very little goo OR furr left...it pushed itself backwards dragging its body on the ground ,franticly looking around for the girl...it reached a near by tree wer it managed to hide behind...
Elwyne got very dizzy for a moment as the monster moved around. But when he held still hiding behind the tree, she starting pounding her little fist on the part of him that she could manage to reach from her position on his shoulder. "Hey! I'm here! I'm stuck!" She called, hoping to get its attention.
the calling voice reached the monster ears from behind ,however it had no idea wat they ment...the bumping hand against its furr startled it as it spunn around quikly attacking nothing but air...it stared confused into the empty space for a short moment befor it realized the small amount of extra weight traped on his sholder...it suddenly stoped breathing and became silent as is VERY slowly kneeled down...it placed its hands on the ground infront of it and lowerd its entire upperbody...arched over its nose and neck somwat dug into the soil inorder to get the sticky girl as low to the ground as possible...
Elwyne wriggled a little more as the monster lowered itself to the ground, but she was well and truly stuck. Then she came up with an idea. Most of the goo that attached her to the creature was on her vest, since her arms and legs still seemed to be free. Maybe if she took off her vest, she could get loose. It was worth a try at least. So Elwyne carefully started to loosen her vest laces, careful not to touch any of the goo still sticking to it or to herself or the monster.
the smallest forest life can be found everywer...espesaly in dark holes...the kneeling monster tryed to wait for teh girl to dislodge herself from it...its paitiance would last untill a further threat arose...with its eyes scanning wat little section of the forest it could ,it lost track of wats directly infront of it...two small ants fought to carry a pile of dirt...a third ant crawled its nose and found the monsters eye...the monster did nothing but blink hoping the stuck girl would hurry...suddenly five ,six and twelve ants come marching...the monster violently sneezed as a few of them made their way up his nose...nolonger did the monster hold its ground as it jumped to its feet and started to smack itself in the face...with unorganized fingers it started to rub its nose against the tree...befor long it had rubed its soft nose skin raw...
Elwyne held on tightly as the monster suddenly surged up underneath her. She was already half out of her vest, and as the creature started to apparently attack itself she fell the rest of the way out of the vest and onto the ground, where she was immediately covered in clinging grass as well as the goo.
the monster stoped and looked at the fallen girl...it closed one eye and started to tilt its head sidways...befor its long ear reached its sholder it let off another extream sneez this time freeing itself from the ants...a powerful sneez that expelled the ants and snot all over its chest...the monster looked down at itself and could no longer tell the diffrence between the sticky goo and its own mucus...again it looks at the grassy goo coverd girl befor it turns and peeks around the tree...
Elwyne wrenched herself off the ground though the grass still clung to her and she carefully moved up beside the monster. She was careful not to touch the creature, knowing that it would be far to easy for her to stick to him again. She sighed breifly and pouted a little. Now it wasn't just her pants that needed mending, she needed to find a replacement vest too.
the monster glanced over at the sad faced girl one last time befor it desided to sneek around tree and investagate...it wasnt shure how to reack to the situation ,but somthing dew its nose closer to the old house...it took serveral small steps on all four to the other side of the tree...it stoped and streached its body out as far as possible befor it stood on two legs inorder to get a higher point of view...
As the monster stretched up, it passed through a motion senser that had been placed up high. Two things happened and one time. The sound of an oprah singer started wailing from inside the house, and a very small, green, fly-swatter came (seemingly out of nowhere) aimed at the monster's nose.
the sound of a strang song distrackted the monster as the green swatter came closer...befor it realized ,the oncoming trap had SMACKED its nose...a rather painless smack that only stung due to the raw nose skin...however the monster shook its head in anger and its neck furr began rise...it let off a loud roar that echod over the singing...it began to stomp forward with open claws on hands the streached from side to side...each step pounded its heart harder...
Elwyne, seeing the monster getting angry scurried after it, trying her best to send soothing calm in its direction as it pounding forward toward the strange house.
As the monster walked forward it instantly set off a half dozen traps at once. Two little soda can shaped machines started spinning around the monster firing small squirts of pink and blue paint. The pink smelling of flowers, the blue smelling much much worse. One was a beam of light that should it hit either the monster or the small hobbit should change their skin and fur to something resembling fish scales. Another trap activated that shot water balloons, and another what seemed like mudpies, but on impact would make the people or creatures closest to it start laughing hysterically. Another was a beam that put things to sleep, and painted funny faces and mustaches on them while they slept.
wise and ready to the oncoming ,the monster dodge a few of the pain squirts ,however severl pink ones managed to hit him none the less...the bright beam light ,painfull to its eyes ,missed it compleatly as it snuk under the steam...sneeking under the beam of light put it direcktly in the path of several water filled baloons that poped with force ,but did not wash away the pink paint...with the combind forces of the gils mood altering powers and the mudpies that landed direcktly infront of the monster made it stop instantly...its streached arms coverd its stomach and it almost puked...it droped to all four and bagan to emit a akward sound..."HURR HURREH HURREHERR HURRRR HURRR"...during this its body began to shake almost like a convultion..."HURRRR HURREH HURRR ARRRUHHHHAAAARRR AAR AAR" it look back at the girl with compleat fear in its eyes and confusion on its face...
Elwyne trailed the monster and luckily the creature kept the worst from hitting Elwyne, though she did get smutched with both colors of paint and splashed by water balloons. She was too short to get hit by the beam, which she had no clue how lucky she was for that, but she was close enough to the monster to get caught by the laughing mudpies. She chuckled and bit her lips together to try and smother them. She still managed to stumble over to the creature and reached up to try to pet its large head.
"That's more than enough!" A cross sounding voice echoed from the house. Suddenly as if a switch had been pressed all the noises and traps stopped, frozen in place. A small young woman, though taller than Elwyne, stood next to a rubber mallet that was hanging in the door frame of the house. Her hands were propped on her hips and a scowl covered her scarred face as she stared at the intruders. "What do you think you're doing?"
The laughter was cut off at the same time as the traps stopped. Elwyne gasped and panted for a moment, trying to catch her breath before trying to speak to the strange woman. "I... I'm sorry. We... we're from the Tavern. We were walking, and... well... we ran into these traps. We didn't know anybody lived here."
the monster looked around as it had compleatly forgotten its anger...it understood nothing of wat the new girl or its companion wer saying...instead it repositiond itself next to Elwyne and squinted its dark eyes at the stranger...even tho the strang new girl appeard harmless it would make no hesitation to attack her at any motion of agressive behavior...the monster couldnt help but smell the fresh scent blooming around it...it took several deep wiffs thru its nose wondering wer this new scent was coming from and why the onslought of strange wepons had stoped...
The woman grinned, showing a hint of fangs, it wasn't a pretty smile. "Of course no one lives here! I live here! So what do you want?" She didn't wait for an answer but turned to the monster. "What do you think you're supposed to be? A yeti? Bigfoot maybe? A turtle? I could fix that for you?"
Elwyne looked confused as the woman rambled. She stepped to the side as if to get between the monster and the woman who was glaring at it. "He can't talk. Not like us. He doesn't understand."
uninterested in forin words the monster dose nothing but peek around its companion making shure not to loose its focus on the stranger...the fackt that Elwyne stood between the monster and the new stranger alerted it...this was a sign of defending the monster...possibly from an attack...it reamind ready to strike...
"Is that so?" A thoughtful look breifly crossed the woman's face and vanished, just before she did. Then she reappeared practically right next to the two in her yard. "Is that true?" The hologram wavered and broke up and the woman (real this time?) shook her fist at it from one of the second story windows. "You behave you hooligan!" The hologram snapped back into focus and stuck her tongue out at the window.
Elwyne watched still in confusion. Who was this woman? What was she? "Ummm... we'll leave if you like. I'm sorry we tresspassed."
Both the hologram and the woman in the window turned to glare at the little hobbit. The hologram fuzzed, and vanished again. The woman in the window froze and then grinned a big friendly grin. "Who did you say you were again?"
Elwyne tilted her head, not entirely sure the strange woman was "safe". "I'm... um..."
The woman interrupted her halfway through and ducked back inside the window, when she came out she threw a bucket full of silvery liquid over the two in the yard (along with two mutated fish and a rubber ducky that had been in the liquid in the bucket). "Thank you, Um. That will be all!" And she slammed the shutters to the upstairs window closed.
Whether or not the two noticed it, the liquid was making the paint, mud, and gluey goo wash off.
Elwyne was almost releived by the disappearance of the woman, but she decided not to say so. Especially since the strange woman had a habit of reappearing just as quickly as she disappeared. Elwyne looked around, seeing if she could spot the woman before she popped up again.
A little robot on wheels with long mechanical arms glided through the open door of the house and up to Elwyne and the monster. It bowed rather politely at the two and held out a tape-measure. It gestured to the monster breifly as if asking for permission to move closer.
the monster questiond itself about the robot...clearly this moving figure of smooth rock was not a living thing ,this it could sence...it motions however sugested otherweise...nothing but the smell of a cold interrior...no internal colors...no emotional body language...a combanation that made it impossible for the monster to identify its position as a threat or not...it did however hold a flimsy wepon ,wich clearly ment that it could fight...
as the mechanical device gestured twards the monster it sunk its head backwards but the rest of its body remaind stationary...its neck furr began to rise again preparing for an attack...
Elwyne spotting the monster's sudden aggresive behaviour got between the robot and the creature and reached to pluck the tape measure from it.
The robot jerked the tape measure back towards itself not letting Elwyne take it. Instead the robot started wailing, a sound rather like that of a crying child, and rolled back inside the house.
how quikly aggresion turns into confussion as the monsters eyes became oversized and its eye brows becam misshaped...it look at Elwyne in the strangest look wondering wat to think of the situation...
Elwyne Felt the monster's confusion as well as noticing the strange confused look on its face. She tried to explain, "Well, I think it just wanted to measure... umm... well... It wanted to look at you." Elwyne tried to mime by cupping her hands around her eyes almost like holding binoculars.
the monster raises its eye brows further and without reason mimics Elwyne by also cuping it long fingers and looking thru them...in this position it looks up and down ,left and right befor it look back at his companion...it takes its hands off its face and look as if it was about to shrug its sholders ,but dosnt...instead it steps around her and peeks inside the house...
Deltira sits in the entry hall reading a book upside down. She sits with her back against the floor and her legs stretched up the wall as if she were sitting on it. She turns her head and lifts an eyebrow at the monster and growls, then adds, "Still around? Why didn't you come in?"
Elwyne smiles a little that the monster mimicked her pose, and looked through the door when she heard the growl and the woman's voice. "What? B...but you said... I mean..."
"Said what? I didn't say nothing! I haven't even met you before." The strange woman insisted still sitting in her weird position.
the monster wasnt shure how to reply...it did not reconize the intent of the message of such a low toned growl...it looked around the room befor it went any further scanning its new enviroment...possibly for somthing to throw...still it did not move any further then his companion did...
The woman looked behind the hobbit girl at the monster and asked, "What are you doing with a pet cow that's bigger than you are? Goodness he's a looker isn't she? Welcome to the..." She scratched her head under the metal clip that held her hair in place as well as a few tools and other objects. Then she contorted herself until she was somehow on her feet again. The book that she dropped on the floor had a couple of unfinished pictures of monsters like the one in the doorway and a lot of writing in some foreign language. "Oh don't just stand around in the door all day, come inside."
Elwyne wasn't sure she trusted the woman, she seemed very unpredictable, but it was against the hobbit's nature to be impolite to anyone. "I'm not sure... I mean we really didn't mean to come here at all."
"Nonsense, I'm your Aunt Deltira and you're here for lunch right? What time is it?" The woman looked out the window at the darkening sky. "Mmmm... maybe a bit early for lunch, we'll say breakfast then."
"Breakfast sounds delish! But what about a little nightcap before that?" A warm male voice sounded behind Deltira and a guy in robes and pointed ears and darkbrown hair with a book in one hand and an old staff in the other walked forward with a warm smile.
unable to understand a word from the conversation going back and forth the monsters ears twisted slightly at the sound of a grumbeling stomach...it looks around the room without moving its head for somthing remotly eddable...durring its search its eyes met the book that the strange new girl droped...without hessitation it took severl larg step forward and swiped the book off the floor...with hands untrained in the art of flipping thru a book the monster struggled to examin the pictures...broken art of figures that resembled its form around pages filled with symbles...the monster turnd the book and its pages every wich direction trying to make sence of it ,but was only ruining the book...frushstrated it slams the book on the floor and crawls over it hopping to understand it any way it can...
Elwyne makes a dismayed sound and rushes over to try to calm the monster down again. She recognizes the pictures and blinks in startlement, but she ignores it to try and get the book away from the monster before he destroys it. "Oh no! Please don't!"
Deltira spins around and growls at the new intruder, ignoring the monster, the hobbit, and her book that she'd dropped. "Don't tell me these pet's are yours?" She growls at the man.
Gildor looks at Elwyne and the monster and looked to think for a moment then grinned and shook his head. "You know I don't keep that sort of pets, first of all, nothing remotely humanoid and nothing as cute as her and not one as.... How to put it, not one that would do that to a book, you should really know that by now." He said to Deltira and placed his hands against his waist in a feigned outrage.
"No you're right I forgot... you prefer ugly, scarred, quarter imps. Well, since you're here you might as well be useful. The giant gerbil has been getting into a lot of trouble and can't talk or understand for me to argue with, so do something!" Deltira glared at Gildor. "Then again, I could always figure out how to turn you into something like him so then you can translate in person."
Gildor smirked. "First of all, you aren't ugly and also you're not my pet... If anyone is any's pet it would be me whom is your pet and well for the 'giant gerbil' as you've called it.... I can't promise anything but I can try." He walked over and wavered at the book that flew over into his hand and started rushing through the pages to find the one page he was looking for then nodded after skimming through the text and turned to the creature and closed his eyes and started mumbling in the language of magic, once finished he opened his eyes and smiled. "Hello there, what's your name?"
the monster followed the book into the air and watched the sudden intruder read thru it with hateful eyes...the monster simply could not comprehend such magical actions...dispited his primal agressive nature it remaind some wat calm...it jumps to all four and starts to breath heavy emitting a low toned mumbleing growl...BUT as the magical intruder began to speek in a forgotten language ,the monsters heart nearly stoped...its blood momentarly began to run thin and muskles randomly strated to twitch...ages have passed since the monster had heard or even use that form of vocal expression...memories of violent chaotic wars and the hurtfull loss of love froze the monster in place...suddenly it everything around it went black as it stared with wide eyes...the only thing it heard was the sound of a single tear rolling off its horrible face and shattering on the ground...
Elwyne Felt the internal pain of the creature and used her Empathy to try to soothe the monster's pain. She hummed softly, and reached out to try and pat the big creature. "It's ok! Really it is! He's just talking that's all."
as the monsters companion touched it ,it simply fell to its knees and arched its back over...covering its face with its long fingers is could feel little releaf from Elwynes soothing powers...many years of represt memories from long ago suddenly wirled in its mind...some that nearly made it sick others that squeezed its heart...few even drove its madness...the monster turnd its head looking at the one who caused it an uprise of emotional pain...it stared sharp and pulled its lips back slightly revealing teeth...however it had no intention to fight...
Deltira seemed to suddenly noticed the torn up book. "Hmmm..." She picked it up and looked at it sideways. "I may end up having to make some kind of translator device myself..." She turned it the other way. "On the other hand, why would I want a furry balloon making noises at me for anyway... oh wait he already makes noises doesn't he?"
Elwyne looked up at Deltira, "I'm sorry about the book ma'am. I'll pay you back... I don't have much, but..." El dug into her pants pocket and came up with a small handful of various coins that she held out to Deltira with an apologetic expression.
the monster still in shock jsut stares at his companions coin filled hands...compleatly zoned out it just watches without sound or reaction...
Deltira reaches out and plucks one of the offered coins from Elwyne's hands, and pops it into her mouth. She made a few strange faces as she seemed to be chewing then swallowed. Here she pulled out a toothpick and used it behind one of her smallish fangs. "Not bad, but it needs salt." She said. Then she held out something that looked like a blue muffin with pink chocolate chips over the rest of the coins in Elwyne's hands and dropped it.
Elwyne looked at the strange muffin-like thing in her hand and then back up at Deltira in confusion. Was she supposed to eat this strange thing.
Deltira grinned almost viciously, "It's a device that when eaten works on a creatures mind internally, breaking down the language it hears and helping it to understand what it means. If that creature balloon, cow, thingy has any brain at all, it should be able to understand us fairly quickly."
Elwyne blinked in startlement and the suddenly almost rational sounding explaination. "Umm... are you sure it won't hurt him?" She asked tentatively glancing worriedly over to her monster friend.
without controll or a full stomach the monster starts to hunger...a hunger that snaps it back into reality...its growling stomach started to eat itself and its mouth began to water...watching the scard face girl eat the coin made it hungry...it did not understand the language however for some reason it reached for the offerd bread with colors...
Deltira grinned at the girl then made a sour face. "How should I know, you're dog drooled all over my study book. Look! It's dripping wet, now." She said and threw the book she was talking about over her shoulder, although the book was completely dry. "On the other hand, he'll probably get a funny smiley face rash on the side of his head. That'll only last until he doesn't need the translator to help him out anymore."
"Umm... I'm not sure." Elwyne said still holding the muffin out stiffly in front of her.
Deltira shrugged and tossed an identical muffin into the air above the monster's head. "Catch Fido!"
the monster catches the sweetend snak with only his mouth and gobbles it down without hesitation...nearly forgetting to chew the monster swallowes it almost whole...yet hungerd for more...
"Oh no! Oh! I hope you don't get hurt from that! Are you ok?" Elwyne blinked. "Still hungry?" She noticed through her Empathy.
Deltira threw back her head and laughed heartily. "Of course he's still hungry. A gut that size needs equivalent nutrition!" Deltira started dancing around tossing muffins and other possible foods left and right like tossing flowers at a parade.
the monster down to all four hopped from one left~over to the other like a oversized monster rabit...shoving just about ever assorment of food the free giving girl had to offer...internaly built with a complex stomach ment to up hold a wild appatite...like a half starved cow grazzing across the old houses floor ,even sticking items in its mouth that wer not food...
Even after running out of food, Deltira kept laughing and spinning and dancing around as if she'd completely forgotten that anyone else was there.
Elwyne didn't bother to try to stop the monster. She figured that by this time there wasn't anything left she could do except Heal him if he did get sick. She just hoped that she had enough energy left to do so. It had been a long day. Sighing quietly she leaned against a nearby tree and slid down it to sit on the ground.
the monster soon after followed her...it crawled near the tree and made use of the ground beside his companion...its stomach was full and with heavy thoughts it too was ready for another day to end...curld up it loosend and streached one final time befor shutting its eyes...however underneath its skin and behind its eyes ,it remains fully awake...waiting for his companion to sleep...
Elwyne smiled slightly as the monster lay down near her. She reached out a tentative hand to stroke its matted fur. She noticed that the glue had somehow come off, along with her vest, wherever that could be. The paint spots were still there though. Elwyne yawned and curled into a little ball at the base of her tree.
later that night as all slept the monster was suddenly woken by a firery dream...it opened its eyes slowly and looked around the tree area...at some point in time it had fallen asleep too...tired it silently lifted itself to all four and snuk from the area...carfuly it searched the area ,but finding nothing rested its mind to ease...it dared to seek around the old house but managed not to set of a single trap...possibly due to the strange girl shutting them off...it stops to examine a piece of clothing ,it smelled strong of its companion...the monster wonderd how her vest had gotten here as it rose to two legs...it started its way back to the tree and returnd to its location next to Elwyne...on its stomach it yawned as it lowerd its head useing the vest as a pillow the monster returnd to its dreams...
While her guest were asleep, Deltira sent out some of her invisibots to keep an eye on the two. she pretended to be insane, but she was really a rather kindhearted young woman in her own way. She made sure to set out breakfast (well covered) for them, and a machine heater in place of a camp fire to keep them warm.
The next morning dawned slightly chilly but bright and clear.
the monster awoke standing swingging its fist around him...not fully awak it trips over his companion and well coverd food...its eyes first open in mid stumble...woken in shock the monster stumbled ,rolled ,and crawled all in one continuous motion...on all four it vanished thru the bushes...from worming thru the undergroth ,to standing tall and thin behind a tree the monster stood stiff...his heart was pounding still and his blood rushed backwards...
Elwyne woke abruptly as the monster tripped over her small form. It was a good thing she tended to wake up all at once, so she knew where she was and why she was there, but she didn't know it was the monster that had kicked her while she was sleeping. She rolled away and grabbed the daggers from her belt, rising to one knee and looking around for what had disturbed her. However since the monster had by then hidden behind the tree, she didn't see anything but the heater and the blankets and food that had been left out for them. And the house closed up for the night. "Who's there?" Elwyne called out.
behind the tree the monster clearly heard his companions words ,but due to the rush it failed to realize that he actualy understood them...the monster peeked around the corner to spy on the defenceful girl...with her daggers at hand and in a low fighting position the monster fells tempted...still in the mind~set of a good fight ,the monster ducked to all four and sized the girls combat skills...it felt it definetly had a size and strenght atvantage...the monster slys across the moist morning grass without sound...it thoughts directly on his companion as its nose leads it around her back side...its heart beats hard and it sneeks as close as it posssibly can...with on eye on her daggers and one on her head it attemped to suprize her by jumping out...with full force it lept forward and landed half way...bounching off the ground on all four the monster jumps again...this time stright for his companion with its front arms streached out...it attacked not to kill or survive...it attacked not out of unloyalty or disstrust...it attacked to tempt and measure her skills...a fight of frendship and exersize...
It was a good thing the small hobbit girl had good hearing. She heard the attack and acted first without looking. She spun on her toes and leaped left, bringing her hooked daggers into a gaurd position between her and her attacker. She blinked in startlement seeing that it was her friend that attacked her and wondered what was wrong. She didn't drop her defence though.
the monster landed further away...it repositiond itslef on all four in order to face his companion...from afar the monster quikly stood and swung its long arms and then returnd to all four...it crawled forward several feet befor it attemped to rush Elwyne again...without hesitation it jumped and aimed stright for her again...
This time Elwyne reacted by jumping up and forward, curling her tiny body into a ball and rolling up and forward over where the beast's tall shoulder should be before stretching out her legs to land in a crouch behind him. Still she didn't attack with her blades, only holding them to block any swipes he made at her. Her face became confused and sad as the monster she had thought was her friend attacked her without any reason she could see.
a second failed attack somwat imprest the monster and it no longer questiond her reaction speed...now it would test her ability in direct combat...it stood up tall on two legs and walked its way over to her...with both hand it reached high into the air and came swinging down over her...clearly giving away his attack...
There was an opening that Elwyne spotted almost instantly as the monster approached her. When he brought his clawed hands down above her head, Elwyne ducked and rolled straight between the monster's hind legs. Oddly it was a move she was often able to use because of her slight size. She knew it would be foolish for her to try and block the monster directly, because she knew for a fact how much stronger than her it was. However she knew how to use her tiny size and the acrobatic and dancing skills that she learned from her gypsy foster family to her advantage against larger and stronger opponents.
the monsters hands hands hit nothing but the hard ground...it blinks and turns its head sidways and notices his vonerable position as she now was directly behind it...the monster swings its body around and attemps to grab at her...with both hands teh monster reaches for her arm and leg simuntaniously...
Elwyne jumps and turns, but her arm is still caught by the monster's reaching hand. She yelps more from startlement than pain as the clawed hand wraps around her arm. She immediately wraps her little body around the monster's fist and brings the dagger in her still free arm down toward the monster's fingers.
the monster sacrifices its hand for the grip on Elwyne...even as she stabed the monsters fingers it only grumbled in pain and attemps to yank her closer...wer it could westle her to the ground...
Elwyne winced in sympathy with the monster, as its pain hit her as well, but she was used to such pain. She quickly built her internal sheilds up to protect her from pain coming from outside herself. She still didn't want to use her Empathy while she still had any chance of surviving. Not drawing out the dagger she had in the monster's hand instead she pulled it across the back of the hand, hoping to cut a muscle or tendon that would force the monster to release her whether or not it chose.
a loud roar filled the morning air as the monster suddenly loosend its grip...the injured hand flung backwards and the blood driped heavaly...the dagger deep in its hand did not dislodge from it shaking it back and forth...instantly stopping it attack it rolls on its hips and braces itself up with one good hand...the dagger stuck in its hand ,it tryed to heal by wiping its arm around...with little success and more pain the monster stoped shaking its arm and layed down before Elwyne...it inched its way tward her without looking her in the eye...somwat begging to remove the dagger...
Elwyne backed up a bit still holding the dagger she had left between her and the monster. She wasn't going to fall for it if the monster intended to attack her again. But the pose of the monster didn't seem aggresive. Elwyne refrained from attacking the monster further and waited to see what it was going to do now.
the monster stoped inching its way forward as it reached her furry feet...it simply just layed their waiting...it began to close its eyes to show it no longer was interrested in fighting...with its nose still down it just rested and beathed hard thru its nostrils...
Elwyne waited, still braced for an attack. When after a few moments the monster did not stir or try anything more, she tentatively lowered her sheilds to check the monster for any feeling that might lead it to attack again. She gritted her teeth against the wave of pain coming from the monster's hand that still had the knife in it, but could Sense no anger or aggresion coming from it. She remembered none of these feelings from it before either, as she tried to think of why her friend might have attacked her. It hadn't been angry, if anything it had only felt... curious but why? Elwyne didn't understand. Testing herself, she carefully squatted down near the monster and reached out her free hand toward its head, though she still held the dagger ready for an aggresive response.
the monster raised its head slightly to meat her hand...it harvested sno feelings of guilt or resentment only defeat...as of now it only wished the dagger in its hand would be removed...it inched forward again to position itself closer to his companion wondering why she is letting it suffer...she had already won it waited on her choise...it waited to be heald or killed...it knew of only one way to show its loyalty again...it spoke softly with a slight grumble "RATURA MAHHhh"... its very first words spoken to Elwyne
Elwyne didn't understand the words, but she did get more of an impression of what the monster was feeling since her physical nearness brought the creatures feelings to her more strongly. She still didn't understand why it had attacked, but she Felt that it had surrendered somehow. Elwyne sighed and settled down near the monster, scratching his head lightly before reaching for the dagger in its hand. "I don't understand what that was about, but I suppose you must have had a reason for it." She said though by now she didn't expect the monster to understand or respond.
the monsters ear perked in confusement...words have penatrated its ears and the understanding of them became somwat clear...it understood she questiond it...it understood the snetance struckture but did not understand how...with wide eyes and a raised eyebrow the monster instently forgot about the pain and focused on her face...it stared at her with a tilted head waiting for her to say somthing else...
Elwyne's hand froze as she Sensed the monster's sudden change in mood. She tilted her head to the side as if listening, and looked over at the monster's face. "What's that? Is something wrong?" She asked, still not expecting it to understand her. "I'm just going to take out the dagger and Heal you. I promise that it won't hurt for long." She fully expected the monster to attack her again, but she didn't want to leave it in pain all the same. The monster had been rather nice to her before. She still didn't understand why he had decided to attack her before. Had she done something to upset it? But if that was the case, she should have Sensed that it was upset, and it hadn't been. Maybe her Empathy was acting up? That was quite possible. She knew that there was a type of mushroom that occasionally made her ill and made her Empathic Senses go crazy, but she didn't feel ill at all. Maybe it was something else she'd eaten. There was the raw fish she'd eaten when the monster offered, but she didn't think there was anything unusual about the fish except of course for the fact that the fish had been raw still when she'd eaten a bit of it. She grimaced breifly with distaste at the thought, but she'd been trying to make friends with the strange sad Feeling creature. The sadness in it was very deep, and must have been from something that happened a long time ago. There was no way she could Heal an injury that deep and old, though she might wish she could. Elwyne thought all this in just a couple of breaths, and reached again to pull the dagger out of the monster's hand. She hummed softly under her breath, already starting to weave a melody to strengthen her Healing gift.
Deltira watched the fight between her two visitors through another of her devices that transmitted images from around her house into an alternate pair of goggles she occasionally wore. With the goggles down over her eyes, she watched the fight and thought whether she should interfere or not. After watching a moment or two, she realized that the monster wasn't attacking to kill or injure only to test. The strange dark woman with the scarred face settled back in her chair and decided to let them go at it. If anything unfortunate happened she was certain that she could manage to keep them from going overboard if necessarry. She was still eager to see if her special muffins that she'd secretly named "Translator Explainator Muffins" would work on the beast. It was unfortunate that the only book she'd had on its species had been rather badly messed up, but it hadn't really had all that much information to begin with. It seemed that all the researchers that had been working on that particular project had been killed by the subjects of their research. It seemed that the species was rather violent by nature, and took offense at any seeming intrusion into their territory. This one however seemed to be at least a little bit less eager to attack, but only to a point. Deltira could respect that. She wasn't exactly a tame creature herself, her own grandfather had been an imp. Imps were small but very violent and mischeivious creatures themselves, and Deltira was certain that she'd inherited some of the violent tendensies from that species. She grinned a feral looking grin, with her tiny fangs glinting, humans weren't exactly a tame species either, so maybe she got it from both of her backgrounds.
she spoke again...from her lips words came with meaning ,not just randomly jumbled sounds...the monster still stared a blank...it could not determin if it was awake or still asleep...with eyes and nose forward its sences wer compleatly scatterd...the air felt calm and birds shirped in the distance...the soft green grass seemed brighter ,and the blue morning sky apeard to glow...the monster felt reality in a still moment...for the first time in ages ,it relaxed...all focus was was on the world around it ,not the anger from within...between the sudden alingement of suroundings and the peacful humming of Elwyne it felt like a diffrent creature all together...confused thoughts drifted with the rythem of her song has it loosend its body...forgetting about the dagger entirely...her words echo over and over in its head ,each time growing louder...untill they exploded with meaning that engulfed its inner colors...
Elwyne Sensed some of what the monster was going through as she removed the dagger and Healed the wound, but she held the outside Feelings away while she worked to examine later. She was very curious about the odd Feelings that were coming from it, but she couldn't find any reason for it to feel so strangely about things. She'd Healed it before, and surely it had heard her humming as well? Elwyne shook her head slightly and continued to Heal until the wound was no more than a pink looking scar under the creature's fur, and blood in his matted fur.
the monster mistakingly forgot about its companions dagger in its hand...as she pulled the dagger from its place the sudden realization came to a drastic halt...the pain that shot thru its body return its inner colors to their normal dim faded hue...with the proper emotions the monster still dazed during the entire healing prosses...still with wide eyes staring directly at its companion ,it slightly shook its head too...only out of confused reflexes dose it poorly imatate her...the monster breathed normal...
Elwyne finished her Healing and stopped humming. She smiled gently at her monster friend and patted the newly Healed hand, before turning the wipe clean her daggers and resheath them in her belt. "See? You're ok now!" She blinked at him and sighed, "Sometimes I wish I could read thoughts as well as emotions, then I could understand you better."
the irony of beeing able to understand without speaking flushed the monsters thoughts...it refused to simply randomly jumble letters from its mouth ,instead if let off a low pitched squweek...a soft whistle under its breath...the sound was short heard and wasnt directed tward its companion...as Elwyne stated her wish to read its thoughts the monster look away in shame...it looked back at Elwyne and leand forward in order to nudge her with its nose...befor it streached half the distance between them its stomach released a ocward sound...**Squiiiirrrrlllll gurggle...
Elwyne blinked at her monster friend with startlement. "Did... did you just say something? It sounded like you said 'squirrel'." Elwyne shook her head wondering if she was hearing things.
the monster shook its head in the lack of understanding her question...the monster with a painfully empty stomach held its tummy with both hands and looked at its companion with black under its eyelids...it stood on too legs and looked down at Elwyne hopeing she would understand the gesture...
Elywne looked up at the monster and noticed where he put his hands. "Stomach? Are you hungry? Or maybe your stomach hurts after all the strange things you ate yesterday." Elwyne focused her Empathy onto the monster and determined, "Hungry then." She remembered what happened when she gave the monster some of her mushrooms before, so instead she looked around and spotted the food that Deltira had left out for them. "There's some food there." She got up and went to get it, but on closer inspection she noticed the strange colors and shapes that always marked the food made by Deltira. "umm... I think it's food."
the monster followed her over to the food...as its companion ponderd the edability of the meal ,the monster already had kneeld down and grabed a peace...it had grabed to brightest most oddly shaped food it had ever seen and nibbled on it carfully...a major chainge from its former methods of eating...
Elwyne looked at the monster and sighed, "Well, if you managed to eat what that strange woman gave you before without getting sick, I suppose whatever this is won't hurt you either." She smiled faintly and picked up some of the food herself, sniffing it carefully before taking a small bite. She blinked in startlement, "It's not bad."
finsihed with its portion of the meal the monster started eyeballing its companions food...its face did not chainge but underneath its skin it gave off a wicked smirk...all ways hungry for more the monsters mouth waterd as it watched Elwyne enjoy her food...watching her eat it began to wonder off in thoughts...its eyes gave a blank stare as it tryed to understand theas "memories of the future"...
Elwyne ate some, but noticing that her monster friend was still hungry, she pushed the still more than half full plate toward him. Instead she dug some more of her stock of mushrooms out of her pockets and munched on them.
the monster pretended not to notice or care for the food...it waited for its companion to blink befor it dove on the food mouth first without shame and scarfed it all down...however it apeard its eyes wer more hungry then its stomach...it barely could finish the last bit...even tho its bad history and over stuffed stomach ,the monsters starving eyes began wander...staring at the mushroom in her hand it shakes it head and shudders...remembering the terrable dry taste of those shrooms...
Elwyne reached out with her hand to pat the large monster, though she was ridiculously small compared to her friend. "I'm sorry, I don't have anything else to eat for you." She looked around the place, and wondered if they should go back to the tavern. Thay always had good food for any size stomach.
the monster almost struggle to stand...it walked on two legs over to the tree they had camped at and dug its claws into it...gripping tightly it pulled itself back causeing it back to pop several loud times...it let go of the tree and reached as high as it could on its tippy toes...streaching its entire body it fell backwards and landed on its back...it then continued to twist and scwirm around on the ground...
Assuming the creature was sick, Elwyne rushed over to where it was squirming on the ground. She wondered if she could get close to it, without the monster hurting her in her effort to Heal him. It was easier to Heal when she was physically close to the person (or creature) she was trying to Heal.
one final twist and the monster was laying on its stomach with its back end in teh air...it yawned and then watched its companion aprotch...
Elwyne noted the change back to more ordinary behaviour but was still cautious about her friend. She slowly stretched her hand out toward it, trying to get any sense of sickness or any other oddness.
the monster squinted its eyes and streached its nose tward her hand...nearly touching it the monster opens its mouth slightly ,closes one eye ,and tilts its head slightly...(HAAA PHOO) teh monster sneezes twards Elwynes hand...instantly it sits upright and stares at her with wide eyes...
Elwyne jerked her hand back in startlement as the monster sneezed. She stared back at it for a moment, then bit her lip as giggles started to escape her. Soon she was bent nearly double laughing at the monster sneezing on her hand.
even tho the monster did not laugh it somhow found this paticular body function rather funny as well...even tho it had sneezed countless times befor somehow this time seemed a little diffrent then befor...despite the fun nature within the monsters stomach it had no facial expresions...
Elwyne kept laughing for a while. Sensing herself the feelings that the monster had, she laughed for both of them. She smiled bright into the monsters face, her eyes taking on a gleaming emerald color.
amused at the sight of her joyfullness the monster began walking tward her on all four...as she laughed with diffrent eyes the monster continued to walk past its companion and turn behind her...it ducked its head down low and moved forward ,scooping Elwyne up from behind...once she was staddling its neck the monster rose its head sliding her further back on its sholders...the monster turn again and slowly started to walk twards the strange house from yesterday...
Startled, Elwyne clenched her fingers tight in the monster's fur and looked around as he started walking forward. Elwyne wondered to herself where the creature was taking them this time.
the monster walks only several yards and stops infront of the strang house...it stops at the door as if it expected it to open automaticly...with one hand it litely pushes on it to see if it would open...
The door slowly opens under the pressure from the monster's large paw. Inside is a hallway with several doors opening onto it. All the doors are closed except one.
the monster walked right in ,but once past the door it stoped...it turns its head trying to look up at Elwyne...
Elwyne looked around the hall, "Why are you bringing us in here? Are you looking for something? That lady maybe?" Elwyne leaned forward and started to attempt to climb down from the monster.
teh monster lowerd its upper body a bit lower...once its companion climbed dow the monster stood up on two legs ,almost reaching the ceiling...the monster continued down the hall one step at a time ,with the back side of its hand dragging along side the wall...
As the two companions grew closer to the open door. The robot with the tape measure suddenly rolled out of the open door, apparently still wailing from the day before, and across the hall. The door on the other side opened to let the robot enter and slammed shut again after it.
Seeing the robot, Elwyne jumped in startlement and nearly fell backwards over her own feet. "What? Where did..." She shook her head. "I forgot how strange this place is."
the monster jumped with Elwyne and landed on all four infront of her...it turnd to look at her with wide eyes and slightly noded its head...regaining it position the monster remaind on all four...it snuck up to the open door and peeked its nose around the corner...
Deltira was sitting fully dressed in a tin bathtub filled with bubbles and several different bath toys. She screeched in outrage and started flinging the bath toys and whatever came to hand at the intruding nose of the monster. After throwing at least twenty different things. She smiled contentedly and closed her eyes, as if she were about to fall asleep.
the monster quikly pulled its nose back only after the strange girl stoped throwing items...sucked up against the wall the monster felt it was clear to enter now that she aperently had no more items to toss...with clear intentions of wat it wanted but no way to comunicate the thoughts ,the monster walked into the room on two legs...it ducked under the door clearing
enterd the room and with big steps walked directly up to the bubbleing girl...
Deltira gestured slightly with one hand, her eyes still closed and pointed to Elwyne still outside in the hall. "Hey you! What's your name? Nevermind get yourself in here now."
Elwyne poked her head around the door and realized the strange woman was talking to her. "Um... is something wrong?"
"I need a new bath tub... no wait that's not right... a bath toy?" Deltira shook her head and sat up in the tub looking straight at the monster with her one green eye and one brown eye. "When did the water balloon come back?" She asked still staring at it.
in an effort ot explain its situation the monster lowerd to all four reached for a random bath toy...it streached its long arms out at the bubbleing girl and hoped they would notice a chainge...
Deltira's eyes narrowed and she asked very carefully. "Do... you... understand... me? If you understand... growl for me."
the monster gave the bubble girl a twisted look and leand back with lungs full of air...the moment after ,it let off a roaring growl that echoed into a deep howl...the sound aimed direcktly at the questioning girl...a sound that even blew some of the bubbles around...
Deltira winced at the sound, then nodded and rubbed her oddly long fingers against her chin. "I think... that he understands now. Don't you?" She looked at Elwyne as if asking for confirmation.
Elwyne had clapped her hands over her ears at the sound of the monster's roar, and now she stared pale faced at her monster friend. "Really? You really understand?" Ignoring Deltira's question she walked toward her friend and reached up as if to touch him.
"Understands but can't speak, we shall have to do something to correct that." Deltira dug under what bubbles were left in the bathtub she sat in, and after a moment pulled up a rather odd looking device. She looked it over and pointed to one side. "Can't fix the voice until I get that special flute tube from the smith two towns over. The smith around here can't do nothing but horseshoes and pitchforks." She glanced sideways at the monster. "Good idea to stay away from there by the way."
the monster looked back down at its companion and reached its hand out aswell tward hers...somhow trying to gesture a yes...the monsters attention was shifted as the bathing girl spoke of verbal comunication...unclear of the words that followed the monster only thought of being able to speak...to be able to speak AND understand...the monster payed little attention to the instructions or warning as it only ponderd the possibility to comunicate...
Elwyne smiled brightly as the monster reached back to her. Then she turned to listen to Deltira's talk. "You can really do that? You can get him to speak too?"
"Didn't I just say that?" Deltira said, for once she seemed to be more sane than usual for her. "I just need something first." She groaned and theatrically put her hand to her head as if she was about to faint, which looked odd as she was still sitting amidst the bubbles in her little bathtub. "The smith has something I need, and it may take a while to get it. I may have to threaten to turn him into a hot pink gopher to get him to finish it though." A slightly malicious smile crossed the woman's face.
"Ummm... I don't think the smith would like that." Elwyne protested.
"Oh? Then why don't you go get it then?" Deltira half growled at the hobbit.
after only half listing to the two arguing the monster lowerd to all four and started its way back out...still heavy on its mind was the thoughts of an actual voice ,like the many around it...
"Ummm... oh... I need to go." Elwyne went to follow the monster out, not really wanting to be left behind with the strange woman.
"Wait! Catch!" Without waiting Deltira threw something at Elwyne.
Gildor quickly caught it in the air and handed it gently to Elwyne. "Here you go." He then turned to Deltira. "Haven't I told you to have patience when doing that?" He smirked and tilted his head. "You're really letting her take that journey alone? Or is it just so you'll be alone with me?" He looked at her in the bathtub with a secretive smirk.
Deltira leaned back in her bathtub leaning her head on her arms which were clasped behind her head. "What do you mean alone? She's got big bowl of claws and teeth following her... or maybe it's the other way around. In any case, I don't think it'll let her get hurt."
Elwyne accepted the device and looked it over curiously. "Umm... what is it?" She asked looking at Deltira.
"It's a sort of compass. I set it to lead you to the smith who was making the part I need. Just follow the pretty green butterfly." Deltira smiled for a moment looking as if she was drunk or drugged.
"There isn't a butterfly though." Elwyne protested looking around to find it.
Deltira sighed dramatically, "Just hit the green button!"
Gildor smirked. "You know what I mean, besides does that mean you're intending to get alone with me?" He looked her over with an inspective glint in his eyes and a crooked grin.
the mosnter ,lost in thought ,was already outside near the forest waisting no time...even tho it did not know wer to go..."Could have been half way there now" it thought...however it remaind close to the house waiting on its companion...against nature it turnd back and hid along side the house...the monster snuck low around the corner...peeking back only to throw a sharp eye on the front door...the wind blew hard and it seemed the forest leafs themselfs wer chearing on...the monster silently waited...
"I'm too busy cleaning the house!" Deltira snorted at Gildor and pulled a scrub brush out of the bubbles and started rubbing the back of it on her arm. "If you're so worried about the hobbit, maybe you should join them!" Now Deltira tossed the scrub brush at Gildor a faint grin on her face.
Elwyne stared wide-eyed at the two and started carefully and quietly backing out of the door, trying to avoid catching their attention.
time apperad to have stoped and the earth felt still...the only sounds are teh chearing leafs from the near by forest...the monster eyes perfectly focused...befor it turns and makes a full sprint around the back side of teh house on all four...now peeking from the opposit side the monster again waited silently...
Elwyne slowly backed out the door and tiptoed silently down the hall on her largish bare hobbit feet. She slipped through the door, then paused for a moment to look around for the monster friend, that had disappeared before her.
the monsters ears perked at its companions sight...still it waited without a sound or motion...quikly it pulled its nose back around the corner not to get spotted...
Elwyne steps out of the house and looks around again. Not being able to spot the monster she scratches her head under the untidy golden curls. "Now where could he have gotten to?"
behind the wall the monster slowly grew weak with patientce...as it heart beats stonger ,it began to contiplate on attacking from behind...however if it didnt move soon its beating heart and swet would give away its position...with one last breath of air it turnd the corner with an attacking formation...running straight for its companion...
Elwyne heard the running and jerked around in surprise. Seeing her monster friend running toward her she leaped for the doorway of the house. She couldn't imagine why he would decide to attack her again. Like before, she didn't really feel any sense of aggression from it either.
compleatly missing its companion ,who sliped in the door ,the monster finished its run and decided against continueing...the monster calmly walked twards the door on all four...it stoped and peeked its nose inside...
By then Elwyne was ready for another attack. She had her back against the wall and her daggers out in both hands.
the sudden silence did not match her previous actions...the monster felt somthing was diffrent...it quikly backed its nose out and sicks against the outside wall...unsure if it should wait or infoltrate...
Elwyne watched it go, then carefully followed it. She balanced carefully with her knees slighlty bent, ready to leap aside if her friend made any more attacking motions. She paused looking at it from the door frame. "Are... are you going to attack me again?" She asked carefully, watching for signs of understanding, or signs of imminent movement.
the sound from that sentance enshure the moster to peek inside again ,this time with a full head...low the ground it casualy walked in ,inorder to investigate...it turnd face to face with Elwyne...
Elwyne carefully backed up, making sure to keep a certain amount of distance from the monster in case it decided to attack once again. She kept quiet and still waited for some kind of response, though she knew the monster couldn't speak.
the monster worryed it had possibly gone to far this time...the compleat silence between it and its companion was nearly unbarable...and then it spoke the same sentance as befor..."RATURA MAHHhh"...this time ending it in a question...
Elwyne blinked at the monster's phrase. It was obviously trying to tell her something, but what? The phrase sounded familiar, but she wasn't entirely certain where she'd heard it. After thinking a moment, she realized that her friend had spoken twice before with the same phrase each time. She wondered what it meant, but the monster wasn't attacking her. Carefully Elwyne put the daggers back in their sheaths and walked, slightly stiff legged toward the monster. "I don't entirely understand you. I can't imagine why you'd attack like that, but you don't seem angry. If I do something that upsets you, I wish you'd find a better way to tell me. I don't know how to fix it if you just attack." El sighed and shook her head. "Nevermind for now. I think we should get out of here before that woman does something else."
the monster agreed and simply turnd and started to walk off...it trotted off away from the house further away fom the Tavern...the monster hoped its companion would follow ,but wer to go it did not...it just knew to search for flute...sadly it did not even know wat a flute was...it compleatly relyed on its companion to know...
Elwyne followed the monster and looked over the device that Deltira and Gildor had given her. On the way she spotted her vest, that the monster had found before their fight this morning. She quickly shrugged it on before running on her little legs to catch up with the monster. Cringing inwardly she pressed the green button on the device, and watched as the top of the device opened to release a pretty purple and blue butterfly that hovered just above her head. Follow the Butterfly
