This is an entry taken from my dream journal a few years back.
This is not fiction.
I finally woke up. I have never been so happy to wake up in my life.
This nightmare was unlike the rest. My body hurts so much right now...
There was a rather large house, resembling an old castle. It was set up like a museum on the inside. The walls were either a very dark brown or black. A large room, with a banister and and large hole in the middle is where I started. Each wall had hallways and door to other parts of the museum, however they all matched the colours of the walls so they were difficult to see. Except one door. I walked into the opening and it was the reptile room. Every kind of lizard and turtle I could imagine. I gazed at them with delight, I even saw Knives (my iguana) in one of the tanks. She looked happy. I wanted to see the amphibians next. I had to walk into the back of this seemingly endless room. The further back I got, the more bugs I saw. They kept all the bugs to feed the animals in the same room. But there were centipedes, millipedes, spiders and maggots. They had thedead ones mounted and placed on the walls for sale. There were millions and the walls got so high up, covered in these things. I started panicking. I ran. Finally, I could see the water inside the tanks with the frogs. I ran up to it for a little release from the horror of my phobia. They were adorable, though not as well taken care of as the bugs. Their desplay was so small, surrounded by bugs. I tried to focus on the frogs, but I couldn't take it anymore. I went around to the otherside and started running again. I ran into Miss. Gail (the book keeper at my job). I said to her "Aren't all of these bugs disgusting". She smiled in that sweet way she always does. Then she bought a massive maggot. It was about a foot and a half long and as... well it resembled a football the way she was holdiing it. I stepped back in horror. "What are you going to do with that?!" I screamed. She smailed sweetly and said in a voice slightly different from her own, "What else would you do with a maggot?" I responded, honestly, "Make a pearl necklace?", for it was very white and it shimmered with a pearlessance of sorts. "No," she said, and started coming closer to me. I continued backing up. Faster and faster. She walks with a cane, but somehow moves faster in step with me. I just kept rubnning until I finally made it back out of the room and to my original starting point in the dark hallway. She was coming with her slight limp from old age, the maggot under her arm squirming. I finally ended up on the floor, knees brought up the my chest, hiding my face.
Everything around me was enveloped in darkness suddenly. I ended up in my undergarments, underwear and a tank top, both black, still in the same position on the floor. I heard a powerful voice. Ty showed up and walked up to me.She began putting large fish hooks into my knees. They had about three inches of a thin wire attached to each. They hurt so badly. But there was no blood. The voice told her that the only way she could find out who, or what, she was was to do this. I was told to be quiet. The pain was unimaginable, but I did as was told to me by the voice.
Next I found myself, hooks still in my knees in the same position on the floor, but alone now. There was a thin screen in front of me. On the screen was the earth. The picture was slightly pixilated, but in color. The voice spoke of the universe, and that Ty now knows her purpose. I could hear the two taking, but I don't remember much of the conversation. I wanted to walk, but it was too painful. Finally I asked the voice if I could remove the hooks now. "Your training finished yesterday", Apparently I had the hooks in me for over a day. I went to take one out, and it was under a lot of skin. It started ripping away at the skin and little bits of blood began to show. As I tore it up more, I noticed something wrapped around the hook. It was a vein. I let go of it immediately, afraid I would cut the vein and bleed more. I told the voice it was wrapped around, all of them were. "How else do you expect to read them if they are not around the veins?" was his response. I put my face back against my legs again, careful not to touch the hooks because it hurt every time they moved. I almost started crying.
Then, I woke up.
Everything hurts and it is very difficult to walk. I can still feel the hooks in my knees, and I woke up with some red marks that have since faded. Gods, just sitting here hurts...
Why me?
