Character name: Ella Tate
Race: Human. Ha, yeah. She's white, but there must be some Hispanic-esque blood in her family, with her golden complexion.
Age: 20
Height: Five feet seven inches.
Eye color/shape: Her hazel eyes can go from narrow slits of anger to wide-open innocence in a heartbeat.
Hair color/style: She has tawny, blonde-brown hair, usually well-groomed and silky, falling to just past her shoulders. She is an expert at flipping it about just so, or making it fall to just barely obscure her eyes.
Face specifics: She has a skinny face, something that hasn't changed since she was twelve, complete with defined cheekbones and jawline. A small scar just below her right ear, barely noticeable, is the only other sign that she used to not be well-fed and had to work for her living. Her skin is golden and flawless, and her lips are a light brown, well-shaped.
Body specifics: She has filled out in the bust and hips, but works hard to keep her waist a decently small size. Her body is her work, at this point, and even though she doesn't blatantly sell anything related to that she has to keep the boys on a string.
Occupation: Officially, she's just a 'friend of the charity.' Unofficially, though, she deals in negotiations, usually with weak-willed men who would sign anything just so Ella would lean over ever so slightly more. She gets a lot more done with low-cut shirts and lace-up corsets than any men do with talking. In exchange, she gets the low-cut shirts and corsets, along with food and board. There has been a dirty office rumor going around that a marriage is being set up for political convenience.
History: Her mother died at when Ella was six, and her father followed her not too long afterwards, when Ella was eleven. She was brought up in a proper household, and her father said over and over that Ella needed to marry well. Her father had married again to a stepmother who didn't quite care for Ella and the fact that she'd inherit the modest fortune when she turned 23. Ella was forced to work in harsh conditions, of course, until she ran away, taking only her skills as a housekeeper with her. Soon after, she was cleaning the toilets of one of the houses of the Fairy Godmother's visits when she was, well, 'discovered.' She jumped at the opportunity to work for FG, if only so that the Fairy Godmother would eventually set her up with a nice, rich man, so that Ella would never have to work again-not for the Fairy Godmother or anybody. Ella is currently covertly trying to get paperwork done to see if she still gets her father's small fortune when she turns 23, seeing as how she ran away from her guardian. She doesn't quite know what to do if she still gets it. At that point, she might not have to marry
rich.
Personality: She's not an evil person, she just sees that sometimes bad things happen to good people, and that the ends justify the means. She's not naive; rather, Ella is almost uncharacterist
ically realistic. However, she's sharp, not infallible. Ella can be tricked like any other person. At this point in her life, she doesn't believe in love.
Sexual preference: Straight. There may be a tryst with a woman as an experiment, but you can't legally marry those. For lust, she prefers strong men, but for security, anybody with a steady income.
Relations: Her stepmother and stepsisters, who she doesn't talk to and hopes they never find her.
Abilities: For anybody attracted to women, a demure look will usually have them wrapped around her fingers. She is incredibly attractive when she wants to be.
React to the following statement ic (in character):
"Hey! Don't think I'm stupid. I know what you're up to."
Ella turned around slowly, putting quite a bit of hip into it, a trick she picked up while she was out and about. She gazed demurely through her eyelashes at the servant, who was standing outside his master's door, indignant.
"What's it to you?" she said, her words cold but her voice practically purring. The servant had already been shaking from either fright or nervousness. "A dropped pencil or two, bending over just a little further, a few bats of my eyelashes... and he's willing to part with some poorly needed funds. Nobody's getting forced. Maybe a hint of blackmail, maybe a whisper of scandal." She had already begun to advance on him, a soft hand running along his jawline, almost enjoying watching him sweat. "And boy, trust me when I say that the funds are just a fraction of his bank account. He can afford it."
If he wasn't married already I might be set, Ella thought, right before the guard hit the servant upside the head.
"Took you guys long enough to figure out that somebody needed to be shut up," she scowled at the guard, who was just stuffing the boy in the closet. "Hey, be careful with him," Ella added, almost feeling a pang of remorse before she pushed it aside and turned on her heel, walking out the door so she could tell Godmother the good news.
