Dust floated around a small flame, a candle set atop a corner of a table. Papers and books lay littered across its surface, coarse to the wooden grain from wear and old age. The shadows set about by the flame against the debris formed a kind of silhouette on the wall, to which it resembled snow falling on the mountains.
The dust suddenly changed its course all together, books pages rolled over one another as eager fingers intricately moved in and out of their faces. “These are the last of them Araglas, so please do look closely.” A voice spoke from the shadows of the room, since the candle only illuminated a small corner of what appeared to be a large room. “I am Alkeron.” Araglas spoke back to his counter part, looking quickly but carefully over every page his fingers touched. But to no avail, obviously not finding that to which they were searching for in any of the books that they had gone through, what ever it was not in them. “Face it Al, it is not here.” Alkeron said moving out of the shadows, his sleek angelic frame standing out against the darkness, his skin glowing faintly as his electric blue hair gave off its own hue.
Araglas stood from his chair and moved around the table, leaning against the silhouetted wall, sighing heavily at his aggravation. “Then how do I go about locating such as the information that I require would you say Al? Hmm.” Al asked the Angel. “Well it obviously is not here Al” The Angel responded, “Maybe you should ask around. “ He added, “Maybe your brother would know?” Al Chuckled at the Angels remark, the Angel nodding his head in a smirk and thinking a bit more. “Well any more bright ideas?” The young elf asked the angel.
Alkeron paced for a moment or two and then quickly turned towards a bookshelf that stood next to the elf. He walked over to it and ran his fingertips across several of its bindings before finding the one in question and pulling it from its place. Moving his finger nimble through its pages he stopped a short mark from the first couple of chapters. His eyes began to dance over the page for a glimpse of the answer they were looking for. “Well?” The young elf asked again. “It seems that there would be an innkeeper in the small village of Diegrand that would know the location of that gem we seek.” The angel said slowly, smiling and closing the book and tossing it at the elf, which quickly opened it back up to the source of the information. “You see that there little one?” The angel asked. The young elf smirked a little and closed the book and placed it back on the shelf. “A blue dragon it is.” He said chuckling a bit. “Sano to be more exact.” The angel said, saying aloud the name of the dragon. The angels wings fluffed out a bit as he turned and faced the shadow, chuckling as he walked back into the darkness “Of course there is always our brother.” He said as he began to leave. The young elf let out a laugh, “as if.”
Alkeron opened his eyes and looked ahead of him at the rain falling outside the window that was opened in front of him. He smiled softly and whispered to himself. “as if.”
