I started out with the lineart. I had it black in the beginning but then tried a sepia colour that seemed to blend nicely with the mood I had in mind :)

I started adding colour to the hair

And swirls

Then started shading the hair with lines

I coloured the cloth and added some highlights

I put the base colour for the skin

and then started to shade

I made the wing lineart

then after a long convo with [Teufelsweib] decided to make them teal x)

Shaded the wing a bit

After that [Teufelsweib] suggested using red and with some fiddling around I ended up putting dark red spots on the wings

I added a second wing and then decided to change the cloth colour as well

I started working on the decorative lines

Adding, removing changing colours of the lines etc

Added some clouds to the background

And a darker colour behind the stars but it looked way too much out of place with the yellow background

So I made a sunset setting instead.
