hey since there is nothing in here ima tell you about my Experiences With Racism....in my school there are only two black kids. And in my 8th grade scince class this guy would always tell everyone that there were "ningers" in school and he was going to go hang him one. That always pissed me off, evern more so when the teacher would just smile about it! It just made me wanna hang em both!>>>By:[im not lost, im just wondering]<<<<

Once two of my cousins and I were looking around in a Mardi Grass masks and beads store. As we were looking around and gawking over pretty masks, we kept seeing the store owner from the corner or our eyes behind us and at the end of each isle we went on. He just stood there and stared at us, watching everything we touched and looked at to make sure it was still there when we moved on to a different item. Later on, like 30 minutes or so later, an employee joined him. He thought we were going to steal something. T__T

When I was in elementary school, we got our first genuine black student when I was in like, the third grade. Everybody immediately hated her guts and called her 'violent' and 'n***** thief'. Since I was an outcast too (for different reasons), I decided to make friends with her and it turned out that she was (and still is!!) one of the damn coolest people I've ever met! So, yeah, proof not to judge based on skin colour. By: [~Second.String~]

When I was in kindergarten, my best friend was a South American Indian from Brazil, named Sharon. Sharon was nice, pretty, fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, and fun to be around. Unfortunately, there was this girl named Molly who always made fun of us for being friends. She made fun of me, especially, even more, when I started "dating" (aka, chasing after trying to kiss) Denzel, who was black, saying that we weren't allowed to be friends or anything because of the colors of our skins. Finally I got so annoyed I slapped her across the face. I didn't get in trouble--she did (my elementary school was surprisingly liberal).

There was also the time when I went to South Africa with my mum to visit her family. On the beach one day, I made friends with a black girl. I was talking to her and joking around and stuff when I felt something wet hit my back. I turned around and there were three kids, around fifteen, throwing SEAWEED at us--two six-year-olds--and yelling in Afrikaans. This was approximately two years after the end of apartheid, so I guess there were still some bad feelings around, but jeez--throwing seaweed (and then, hermit crabs) at two six-year-olds because one was black and the other wasn't? What the hell kind of country was that? I threw the crabs back at them and took Mary to the part of the beach where my mom was.

I am German. In my school in America, someone called me a Nazi. He told me, to my face! that all Germans were Nazis. I was so hurt and angry. I hated him for a long time. Later, I realized that my hatred was just as bad as his prejudice.
